Came here during my lunch hour at the Northport VA. Food was phenomenal.

I love Batata Café! Perfect for people who want to grab lunch but want something healthy, also perfect for people with allergies(very gluten free friendly) Their sandwiches are delicious, their coffee is great! Also, their bakery items are awesome as well. Added bonus(Don’t know if anyone else cares about this but I do), they have stevia at the coffee station in addition to other sweeteners, which is a major plus for me because I love having the option of a natural sweetener for my coffee!

Batata is so amazazingly ABENANERMINLYWONDERFUL I’m seriously considering naming my future son or daughter after this gorgeously healthy place to eat :) the staff is seriously sweet and nice and efficient and the manager and many of the employees knew my name upon walking in the second time I visited! Lol it may have been the fact that I wear faerie wings where ever I go :) but I believe it’s also cause they genuinely love their guests and put their heart and soul into what they do and say… And if there is any problem with an order(which I’ve only had one very very minor problem not even worth mentioning cause the person it happened with was obviously very new probably first day jitters cause I’m in all the time and I’d never seen her) I know I can go to the manager and she will make it right and then some :) Now on to their gorgeously ABENANERMINLY wonderful food!!! Lol I beyond love everything I’ve ever ordered from batata!!! My faves are the Oregonian wrap which is sooooo good and refreshing with the avocado and sprouts as well as the Turkey and nummy sauce sooo frickn good lol it reminds me of what I use to get when I was growing up in Washington state and they put sprouts on EVERYTHING!!! Lol it’s like comfort food for me and it reminds me of home in sedro — Woolley Washington Then there is the ham and bre panini which is to die for with the ham and melted bre with apples!!! Yes!!! Apples with bre on a panini!!! Dude y’all it was the first thing I ever ordered from here and I’ve been hooked ever since lol And now for my new favorite the northern portobello! It’s the best burger I’ve ever eaten hands down and I’ve eaten a lot of places from Okinawa to Cali to Virginia lol this burger is amazing y’all can’t get enough of it and with the sweet potato fries it’s well lol perfect in my opinion lol I’ve been to many places to eat on Long Island and I’d have to say the freshest best tasting food I’ve ever eaten here and even in New York is Batata seriously but hey you don’t just have to take my word for it lol go and eat there for yourself and you will see what I mean Mcl and blessed be The 12th Faerie

All the vegan options are in plastic and in the fridge, to-go style. Absurd for the exorbitant price. Very disappointing. Café? Not really. I asked them to heat up my bland lentil balls but the counter person ignored. I was too annoyed to even bring it up. What a waste of money!

Love their new vegan menu! But my favorite thing about Batata is that they sell Sweet Annabelle’s vegan ice cream sandwiches– my downfall!

God awful service. Absolutely terrible. I’m highly allergic to dairy and the female server did not understand this and kept trying to give me items with dairy. The staff messed up my boyfriend’s order and gave him a sandwich drenched in meat(he doesn’t eat meat) and told us they must of given his food to someone else. They were promt about fixing it though. My food was decent but not worth the hassle. I will say that I had bought a vegan ice cream sandwich from their freezer called Sweet Annabelles and that was simply amazing. However, we weren’t rude to the staff and even tipped but the service was jusy truly awful. I really wanted to love this place and support a healthy alternative restaurant and a local place but decide for yourselves.

Between my fiancé getting hit with a garbage bag being thrown over the counter(it was empty) between employees, then when deciding what to order employees talking and staring at us which if it were just me dining I would’ve walked out, and also ordering strictly vegan items then getting a sandwich with meat on it. I was extremely disappointed with the service at this location, I will say the food was ok but service needs immediate improvement or more supervision. I will not be back.

After going the first time, it became my favorite spot in town. There’s a diverse selection of sandwiches that you wouldn’t find anywhere else, the staff is friendly and sandwiches come with a side of chips and salsa. A unique destination to say the least.

Had a 40th surprise party and had Batata cater! Look who the smart guy is !!! Everybody loved the sandwiches and salads all perfect hand size and all the guests happily eating — from the finicky kid to the eat everything man — the food was eaten with Enthusiasm! The potato chips are the BOMB! I ordered for 40 – 50 guests had 43 and there was plenty of food left over to selfishly enjoy for the next couple of days Next time be different and smart! Batata is the place your friends will be jealous they didn’t think of first.

A nice alternative in Northport. There are a lot of delis in town, but very few that offer the diverse selection that Batata does. From burgers to cold cut sandwiches, you will be hard pressed to find something you won’t enjoy. The restaurant is nicely decorated and feels warm and comfortable. The staff is very pleasant and are eager to help you. The share a space with the BBQ place, and after my meal here I’m anxious to give them a try as well. I had a grilled chicken wrap with fresh mozzarella and sliced cucumber. The chicken was grilled nicely and had a good smokey flavor. The cucumber was refreshing, and added a nice, cool flavor to the wrap. Definitely something I can see myself eating a lot over the summer. My father had the Californian Chicken wrap, and he was really happy with his meal. Each wrap came with house made tortilla chip and salsa. Again, nicely cooked and something different. The prices are a little on the high side, as you will likely be paying at least $ 10 per wrap, but in this case you do get what you pay for. It’s a high quality meal and you won’t be left hungry. Nicely done.

Batata is one of my favorite spots in the area for lunch. It offers a lot of healthy, made to order options that really stand out from the usual pizza, burger, and deli joints that, unfortunately, comprise a significant majority of the lunch options in Suffolk County. My classic go to is the California Chicken sandwich, a breaded chicken breast filet served with sliced avocado, swiss cheese, and alfalfa sprouts. Really hits the spot well, and takes you away from the monotony of typical Suffolk county fast food. I will warn you, though, that the price is a little steep, as an average sandwich will ring you up around $ 10 dollars excluding drinks. For a lunch of this quality that is really quite hard to find in this part of Long Island, it’s definitely worth a trip out here during your lunch hour.

How did I forget to review Batata… maybe I take them for granted they are so close to me, sorry, please forgive. Well they are awesome!!! Very cozy comfy atmosphere, my favs are the big couches by the window, could stay there all day. Very extensive menu, lots of vegan items too if you like. They do breakfast & lunch items with all kinds of coffees, sammies, soups & salads. You must try their fried potato chips… mmmmm just thinking about them makes me want to go right now. Everything is super fresh and very yummy! Prices are good, staff is very friendly, they showcase local art… perfection!

God plucked this café from Portland, Oregon, along with the friendly and down-to-earth staff, and placed them here. I lived in Portland for 4 yrs and this place takes me back every time. The food is delicious, creative, and different from the predictable menus you’ll find in Long Island cafes and restaurants, which I find refreshing. But my main reason for loving this place is the atmosphere. This is a great hide-a-way place if you want a change from the swarm of Italian restaurants, delis, and pizza shops. I don’t feel like I’m on the East Coast, when I’m in here. I feel like I’m transported back to the Northwest. I can stay there for hours and enjoy the view from that big comfy leather couch.

As far as a quick bite it doesn’t get much better than this. Seriously good food with really great attention to flavor balance on their sandwiches. Me and my girlfriend split two different sandwiches and sides and we loved everything(girlfriend is a picky nerd). Great place for the health conscious, gluten free dweebs and vegan heads. Wanted to try more on the menu before leaving a full 5 but this place ruled and is in a league of its own in this area of the island

This restaurant is a nice lunch spot. The sandwich options are good, and there is plenty of veggie fare. Coffee is decent, nothing spectacular. There is a little chocolate and goodie section. Free wifi is a plus.

Stopped in for a weekday lunch. Driving by the place, it may look upscale on the outside, but inside is a homey sandwich place. The space shares an adjacent wall and seating for larger groups next to Macadoo’s Grille(next on the bucket list!). Garlicky Roast Beef Panini — Impressed with my order, although compared to Roast Sandwich House in Huntington/Melville, it still mildly lacks a certain special quality to it to make it truely addicting. The garlic flavor wasn’t lacking and the meat was tender, which still puts chains like Panera to shame. Plus it comes with Au Jus broth to dip in… because who doesn’t like to dip sandwiches? The sandwiches come with a bonus side of tortilla chips and small salsa too in a baggie. Although the salsa isn’t anything special. Overall prices may slightly on the steeper side, but your paying for uniquely crafted sandwiches and paninis(and salads too for the healthy people out there).
