LiL Burgers

We went there with our family. Food was ok and service also ok but not best. burger also not bad. may be i will go agian but not sure.

To be honest, I’d rather go to White Castle and get more for my bang of a dollar than come here. Mind you, I don’t like White Castle in general. Can’t believe I decided to come here for lunch back in my high school days. The burger itself tasted frozen, and it seemed like the meat was the same meat from Costco or something. The fries were blah and there was absolutely nothing special about them.
Would I come back here ever again? No. I would rather go to Wendy’s than this place.

Kids love the sliders and cheer whenever we go there. Everything there is just like you’d expect. The burgers are fresh and their sauces (cucumber wasabi!!) are a creative choice that really works.

Somebody at some point decided that White Castle was something worth copying. What you get here is a more expensive, inferior attempt at doing just that, but sadly, the result is just bad. Where White Castle steams their burgers, this place does something else; whether it’s a griddle or a broiler I don’t know, but the result is a burger that’s as dry and tasteless as shoe leather. It should be noted that there are other items on the menu which may be fantastic, but when you call yourself «LiL Burgers» the burgers should be the star. Another disappointment was the Tater Tots. I’m always thrilled when I see them on a menu, because they’re a fun alternative to french fries, but in this case the fun was dulled by the miserly quantity they give you for $ 2.49. At that price, your first reaction shouldn’t be, «really is that all?». All in all, not a horrible experience, just not worth another visit.

If you are craving a simple grilled fresh burger, this is the place. There are plenty of topping choices but I enjoy it plain just with ketchup. The burgers are pretty thick and not overly salty. The buns are soft and hot. The funnel fries were really fun to enjoy.

I’ve ordered from here a few times now. Their slider burgers are great. Juicy, thick, and a proper patty unlike other sliders (I still love you White Castle). They also have a large variety of other fried food if you’re feeling like having that kind of meal. I’ve had the disco fries, which were nice waffle fries that caught all the cheese in them, and the corn nuggets, which I’ve always loved ever since I tried them for the first time a couple years ago (from a different place). They seem to be hard to find, but they’re amazing fried balls of sweet corn. I usually get the bacon cheeseburger sliders since I really like the crispy bacon on them.
Great place to consider if you’ve got a burger /​fried food craving!

I usually take bad reviews with a grain of salt when I see some five-​star ones, hoping that my experience will be on the better side, knowing that those who have positive experiences tend not to leave reviews whereas those with bad experiences are most likely to. In the case of Lil Burgers however, the negative reviews were right on the money. Where do I begin?
The Food: Not worth the price. Not at all. They are just as small as White Castle and even worse quality. Didn’t know that was possible for an independent shop. I had two Wranglers, which were edible, a Fish burger (which I got on a whim, DO NOT recommend), and then two chicken. atrocities. They are literally a hunk of nasty chicken about the size of a mcnugget with a little squirt of honey mustard. On a bun. That’s it. Super disappointed there.
The Delivery: It was actually fast, but then again I ordered at 4pm on a Monday, so why wouldn’t it be? I ordered a total of seven burgers. I got five, plus the fries. They actually did refund my money like I asked them to when I called, but the girl I spoke to didn’t even sound the least bit surprised or apologetic, she sounded like this happened all the time (I heard her speak to a co-​worker through the phone, she also was unphased by the screw-​up). This was a bad experience, I won’t be ordering from them again.
In the end, avoid this place. There are much better options in Nutley and Belleville. I’d honestly rather go to Wendy’s or McDonalds, even though I hate those places. At least they have standards there.

I’m from Brooklyn and I went to see a friend in jersey, he ordered from here and holy cr*p! Taste way better then expected. Looks so little but so filling. We had regular hamburgers, hamburgers with onion rings in it, chicken sliders, mozzarella sticks and funnel fries! Everything was amazing. If I’m ever in Jersey I’m definitely stopping by. Funnel fries are amazing. Surprised by the low stars that this place has. Definitely a gem!

c’ant be better to much money for the size of burger evan all food is small when i go their is empty so

I wish we can give negative stars. Ordered for pick up, got home, no fries. Called the place and they said to go back. Get back, open the burgers, 2 of them no burger meat. Called again, girls response: they were there because that never happens… asked for the manager, no manager present. When will they be present? «I don’t know I’m just a cashier» really? First time and NEVER going back again. Don’t appreciate being called a liar to shield against your incompetency.

Me and my boyfriend have wanted to go here for quite sometime and finally got the chance today. The inside was nice and simple, just tables chairs, a few pictures and a soda fountain, comparable to the interior of smash burger. We both got the cheese steak meal as well as two lil burgers and zucchini sticks. The cheesesteaks were pretty good and I like the fact that they were on actual bakery rolls which makes the sandwich that much better, the burgers were ok, the cheese fries were decent and the zuccini sticks were restaurant quality.

Did online delivery option thru EAT24. Order came before the estimated time. All the food was hot and DELISH!!! Will definitely order delivery again!!!

Despite the issue I had with the restaurant, the reality is that I LOVE their burgers. As a trained chef, I tend to take my food experiences very seriously, and that leads me to overreact.
I love that there is a local burger place that gives us FRESH burgers. Burgers that are fresh would convert vegetarians. The only thing that would send the food into outer space is freshly cut fries.
Want a great meal? Get ten with american cheese, ketchup and pickles. Add an order of disco fries. Yum

Little Burgers great for kids they love it good place for lunch or to get a Burger fix for dinner

Took nearly 2 hours for delivery, I live less than a mile away. Food arrived cold. Sliders were actually smaller than white castles. Not worth it at all to me personally.

Why are all the people giving bad reviews saying these are like white castles. Have they ever had a white castle burger ??? These are not even close to white castles!!!
I can eat 10 white castles. I can only 4 of these. They are much bigger than white castles.
Also these mini sliders are grill cooked. Not little square fried rat burgers like white castles. (which are very good I must say on a late drinking night). Are these great? No. But they are pretty darn good when you got a craving for a lil burger. People on here are comparing them to Zin Burger. Thats crazy !!!
These burgers are a $ 1.20 each. Zin’s are $ 10.20 each. Forget about it.
Get the kicker if you like spicy hot. Cheese steak not recommend here.
P.S DON’T LISTEN TO THE GOOF BALLS THAT SAY THESE ARE JUST LIKE WHITE CASTLES. GO HAVE A WHITE CASTLE BEFORE YOU POST ! DUH. lol :)
Over All a Good snack place. Kicker, sweet potato fries, onion petals, wrangler all go good with beer.

Lil Burgers is the best «little» burger place around. Many people think it is just another «fast food place» but they go far beyond that with their quality of items on the menu. The flavor that the ‘always fresh never frozen’ burger has with the ketchup, pickle, and King Hawaiian bun cannot be beat. I’ve been going here since they’ve opened their doors and will go nowhere else for burgers.
P. S. The cleanliest place on Franklin Avenue in Nutley, hands down.

Lil tasteless should be more like it! This place is absolutely horrible! This place does not know how to cook food. Who can mess up on making French fries. Me and my father ended up having cheese steaks. The employee sold us saying, there meat is not frozen. Ok.. The onions were not caramelized the meat had no color and the cheese was not melted! The bread was stale and the fries were tasteless. We were the only family sitting here during dinner time. Also kids were working the place an the prices are ridiculous!. I bet if Gordon Ramsay came in he would throw away his meal like we did.

White Castle knock off without the flavor and cheap price. After Unilocaling this tiny burger joint in need for a quick affordable bite for lunch I was rather excited to roll into Lil Burger to destroy a few of these bad boys.
Plenty of seating, a semi retro feel with the big over head menu and glaring product signs scattered about. Clean.
Now when I want a little burger it’s typically a double cheese burger with pickles and onions. This is not White Castle kids. Everything is made fresh to order, so it takes a lil while to get your beef which is a good thing. Unfortunately that’s the only good thing. No seasoning what so ever, blah over cooked smashed together homemade type burgers. No onion? No lettuce? No flavor! Definitely more dense than WC, but perhaps a tad too dense. 4 double cheese burgers and a soda (they offer free refills) for $ 13 felt a bit steep.
Now they have a large variety of burger and chicken deviations along with several sauces available. Unfortunately I really didn’t get it or want to attempt to get it again.

*the kicker (this burger had jalepeno peppers and this sabi sauce; I really enjoyed this; it was spicy and tangy, the burger itself was juicy and the buns were soft)
*he wrangler (it’s a new burger they had, it had an onion ring and bbq, it was simple but I liked it, thankfully not drowned in sauce)
The place itself is cute and it’s very diner-​esque. You order at the register and pick up your order at the cashier. The service is ok, the lady who made the burgers was kind of rude; there was a little station with the napkins, utensils and a variety of sauces which unfortunately were not homemade sauces. Overall, it’s a good place to go for the munchies and if you want mini burgers. In addition, there was a sign that said unlimited fries and soda with every meal, I need to confirm this next I go.
Basically, a classy White Castle or White Manna with more options.
