Its a café with a slight reggae feel thanks to their music and its not bad looking, but it is a bit pricier than some other places around. I had a burger with a side of onion rings and a smoothie and let me tell you: that smoothie was disappointing man. You know it was more ice than fruit when you have to struggle or wait for it to melt before drinking comfortably. There was very little fruit flavor to it, youre better off making your own smoothie. The burger was pretty good, bigger than i expected and it came with all the toppings besides cheese and bacon(which i had to pay a dollar extra each for) so it was like a build-your-own-burger experience. They already went to the trouble of separating it so i left the veggies out except for the avocado(also an extra dollar so yeah i paid 3 bucks extra). It was some golden greasy goodness and you can tell they tried to give it a complete handmade feel, but its only ‘aight, nothing spectacular. The burger patty was kinda burnt. But the onion rings were spot on. Overall a somewhat subpar 16 dollars spent, would have been better if their smoothie was actually tasty

This is a nice spot for coffee and wifi. I went with my boyfriend while we waited for the library to open at noon yesterday, and I was already hungry for lunch. Figuring I can’t go wrong with a veggie burger and fries, I ordered hat along with the lemon mint freeze. Looks like the cook and I both went wrong. My burger was charred on one side. I would have sent it back but my order was wrong the first time when they sent me a turkey burger instead of veggie. Whatever. I won’t be ordering from here again, and the lemon mint freeze was so so. I’ve been here previously. My advice is to stick to the smoothies.

Decent diner in the Lake Merritt area that sees a lot of customers from the courthouse and county offices nearby. The folks who run this place are folksy, friendly, and efficient, and anything you get here is going to be fairly dependable given the price. Overall, the vibe is of that of a typical diner — nothing extremely exciting, but definitely not bad either.

Their chicken and rice special is off the chain. I started a domino effect in my office because it smelled so good the next day my colleagues went to get it. It’s that good! It also comes with a leafy green salad with good house made vinaigrette in it. Go try it you won’t regret it!

My friend and I ordered 2 cups of mushroom bisque(Friday’s soup of the day) and shared the Brie and bacon panini, all for $ 16.50. Both soup and panini were tasty. Loved how the soup had good chunks of mushrooms in it. Just the right portions, too. Thank you for making our lunch!

There is never a long wait when I come on my lunch break. The food fits into my diet because there are a lot of healthy options. Two of my favorite items are a turkey burger on a wheat bun and the chicken and rice plate.

I stopped by here to kill time before jury duty, and was quite impressed. Very welcoming atmosphere, very clean, organized and aesthetically appealing, good service, and the food was top notch. I live too far away to become a regular, but would not hesitate to take anyone here if I were in the area again. To the staff of this establishment, you’re doing very well! Keep up the terrific work.

This is a solid lunch spot especially because of the lack of options in the area. The line can get pretty long. The food service can be slow but it shows that everything is made to order. I usually order the Mediterranean salad(great house dressing) or the Mediterranean plate(hummus, pita, salad, falafel). There’s a friendly guy that works the counter a lot. There’s many more convenient places to go but this is better than most.

I am hungry. I check Unilocal. I say«hey, this place has four stars… I’ll eat here». I walk in, the poor ambiance meets expectations and I walk up to the counter. I ask the food giver in charge of relaying my requests what her favorite item is. She responds«I don’t have one». «Fair enough» I think. Any food establishment driven by any level of intention or passion is going to naturally have or require that the staff do as well. She asks her coworker if she has any preferences. The coworker responds with… «I don’t give a fuck» haha lolol aha I love that level of brutal honesty and this opinion reflects much more on the establishment than the worker herself. I’m already seeing the lack of soul here. I end up ordering a pesto chicken panini, which comes with a salad, and a strawberry mango smoothie. After a little too long, I receive my meal. Bland. My favorite part of the meal happened to be the salad, which was simply some greens dressed with a light vinaigrette. The real kicker is, I had already finished 2⁄3 of my meal before they got my smoothie out to me. I peeked over to see they were using cheap juice as opposed to tru fruit. As something of a «smoothie connoisseur» this is deeply deeply disturbing to me. Thank you for reading. I hope this helps with your experiences and your choices.

No complaints about this place. I’ve only visited once, but I’ll be back. Stopped in on my way back from the airport, lured by the prospect of a proper salad after a week in Utah, and my expectations were exceeded.(I had the mediterranean.) Also had a sweet and an espresso; both were delish. Great service, plenty of room to sit, good music and reasonably fast wifi.

I went to this place for breakfast last week while on my way to work. The woman at the counter is not friendly. She didnt even crack a smile. She barely spoke loud enough to be heard. .and when I told her I couldnt hear her, she became more obnoxious. What was I supposed to do?! I simply couldnt hear her. I ordered a loaded lox bagel — a #7 — I believe. They charge $ 6.95 for this. and its way overpriced. The slices of red onion were so thick i had to throw them away. The capers tasted bad. like they were old. After she cut the bagel, she threw it in the bag and everything had just fallen apart. It was not wrapped with paper prior to the cut. I didnt have coffee… but after this experience with a fairly common ordered bagel. i dont think i would come back for coffee. Giving this 1 star because it was a clean place.

First of all, whoever gave this place less that 4 stars should be completely disregarded. They have probably never had beautifully and artistically made coffee. This place absolutely blew me away. Ive been in coffee for 7 years and haven’t had coffee and well steamed foam this good in a very long time. If insists have to rush to work I would make much longer review. I cannot express more the urgency of this review, this place is f*cking bomb, especially if you love simply and wonderfully made coffee.

I ordered a cold sandwich to go, and noticed several people behind me in line were served their hot meals. I went to the counter to inquire, no words, she just disappeared in the back. and came out with my sandwich. no «thanks for waiting, sorry», Nada. I got back to work, opened my sandwich, and you would have thought I ordered a bread sandwich. where’s the turkey? should have gone to Subway next door, and I HATE Subway.

This place is right next to Rene c Davidson courthouse and alcopark. Before jury duty, I grabbed a quick bite to eat from this coffee joint. I think its owner is Mediterranean. All the food items definitely have a Mediterranean influence. I got the grilled chicken wrap which comes with a nice and sweet side salad. The chicken wrap was definitely among the best wraps I’ve had at a coffee joint. The wrap came with caramelized onions and a cayenne sauce that added a kick to the wrap. A very refreshing wrap when you’re serving your civic duty.

I was a big fan and frequent patron of Mo’joe in Berkeley and was so happy when they decided to expand to this location down the street from me in Oakland. They have great tea, coffee and pastries for the morning and I love their veggie burger or Mediterranean plate for lunch. Their wifi is reliable and it’s a great place to get some work done or catch up with a friend. The staff and owners are super friendly too! Just wish they had night and weekend hours!

While the idea of paying 3.00 for a protein on my Caesar Salad seemed a bit overpriced I opted to take a chance and try it hoping that I would receive a portion so large I would understand the surcharge While my salad was great and flavorful I don’t know that I would pay $ 10 for it again perhaps customer service might have won me over had it had a little more«mo’joe» ,
