This is my favorite lunch spot!!! I come here very often and always order the tuna melt! The lady that makes the sandwiches is sooooo sweet and her husband is the cashier. They always greet me with a smile and they remember what I order. The tuna is always fresh and the price is the same as if you go to subway and eat all the fake meat there. Lol This deli sells real meat not all the processed stuff you would eat at subway for the same price.

This place is awesome, I have had a variety of their sandwiches, soups, and quesadillas everything is absolutely amazing and fresh. Owners are extremely nice to EVERYONE. they do a damn good job just the two of them running this place with its busy lunch crowd. Plenty of healthy and vegan options to chose from.

I have been to this deli several times but the very last time I tried to do a phone order it was a thumbs down. I was ordering for 4 other people and after spending 15 minutes on the phone with this gentleman… I believe his name is Jose he got frustrated with me(don’t know if it was a language barrier? don’t know why if I speak Spanish too) and told me that they didn’t do phone orders after I had spent 15 minutes with him on the phone! I was so shocked and I asked him why and he said that it was taking too long. I was so upset that I asked to speak to a Manager and he placed me on hold for about 10 minutes then I go hung up on. I called again after to speak with someone and a lady answered the phone then she tried to pretend she didn’t know how to speak English and hung up on me. That happened about 5 months ago and I have not been back since. Places like these have great potential but its the customer service what hurts the business. There should be a sign on there that says«No phone orders» instead of wasting peoples time on ordering over the phone. Food is good this place just needs better customer service and they need to hire someone that has enough patience to do phone orders.

Discriminated against. And REFUSEDSERVICE because I asked the food server could she please wear gloves. On May 22, 2015 I waited PATIENTLY in line for 25 minutes, as one women prepared everyone’s sandwich. Once it was my turn, I said you are doing a great job, thank you. The women said nothing in response, But proceeded to remove her gloves grab and cut the bread for my sandwich and place it on the toaster. While I was waiting in line I was horrified as I watched the server grab fresh cooked Turkey with her hands out of the warm liquid it was being kept in. I thought to myself, thank Goodness she has gloves on. So after the server bare handily put my bread in the toaster even after I asked her to please wear gloves she processed to grab my Turkey out and placed it on a piece of wax paper, and then walked right in front of me and put the cheese on the meat still using her bare hands. She discriminately put one piece of cheese on my sandwich But had just previously gave her Hispanic friends 3 slices on every sandwich she made for them while Also wearing gloves. I asked her excuse me can you please wear gloves again. She put my food in the microwave and took some dishes to the back where I could No longer see her. But I could hear her slam the dishes. When she came back out she started wiping down counters and went and bear handedly took my bread off the toaster wiped it with the same un-sanitized rag and to my disbelief put my bread back on the toaster. When I asked her again if she could wear gloves she said I know mam I need to wash my hands first. But had touch all of my food already!!! I told her I did not want the meat and cheese which she touched with Her bare hands. And then she turned and asked me if I had a problem. I politely said No, all I’m asking is if you can wear gloves. I said you made everybody else’s sandwich with gloves on. I looked back at the line and said I don’t want to cause problems I know you have a long line. Then some big Mexican guy came out the back and stood on the side of me. I guess to try and intimidate me. At that time she said if you don’t want it you can leave! I said no I really want my sandwich and I waited all this time I all I’m asking you if you can wear your gloves please like you did for everyone else. And that’s when she said go… and i said so your not going to wear gloves? and she said leave. I sat the fruit down I’d chosen while waiting in line and walked away. Ladies and gentleman be aware! I took a safe serve class after experiencing deadly food poisoning. The food server at this deli took her gloves off and never washed her sweaty hands. I was refused service because I refused to eat her bacteria. I was refused service because she thought I was going to accept the food she made with her bare hands, all will cleaning and Wiping with an un-sanitized rag. This women had no customer service skills and would not honor my wishes or California safe service food safety codes and wash her hands and put some gloves on. I was not rude loud or disrespectful. I left disgusted and have accepted the fact that it was not meant for me to eat there. Even though the food seems healthy her actions cause me to question how the food is being handled and prepared in the back. I will be calling the health department on this company. Be carful, be aware, and take care of yourself. Thank you!

Just one visit, and I had the turkey sandwich. It has real turkey. I mean not sliced deli stuff, but real turkey breast. The food was excellent, but they are easily swamped, so expect a long wait in line if it’s lunch rush.

First off the serving sizes are huge. We had fresh roasted chicken which is fresh daily. They have a wide variety of breads. Vegetarian and meat fillers and extremely welcoming and efficient staff. Stop by you won’t be disappointed

The sandwiches and the service are great here. Not over the top, but definitely alright. They have assortment of breakfast and lunch items and a daily special. The cranberry turkey is my favorite at this establishment. I never bothered to try any of the bagels or toast, as they were store bought. While I would’ve rated this place as a 4 for the yummy sandwiches and service, I was slightly horrified at the fact they microwaved the eggs and chorizo for the breakfast burrito, which killed the freshly grilled tortilla and freshly sliced avocados that accompanied the eggs. I soon learned that they have no grill/stove, but in my personal opinion, there’s a time and place for a microwave and it is no where near a breakfast burrito. Rest assured, I soon after visited a taqueria to fulfill my breakfast burrito needs, but if your’re in the mood for a-ok sandwiches, this place will do you just fine.

Good, homemade taste, good amount of meat and tasty. However, the last two times I’ve gone, I get it to go, get to the office, bit into it, and its WRONG. Turkey Cranberry Sandwich with NOCRANBERRIES. Argh! Have to remember to watch her make the sandwich and stand there during the entire process. But you think if someone orders the TURKEYCRANBERRY, they wont say HOLDTHECRANBERRIES. LOL, I would have ordered a turkey sandwich then.

Chicken shawarma was very good. Never had one before but I would have it again. Very friendly and helpful while ordering. I would go back anytime I am in the area! They also have Gluten free chips too!

This is my favorite place to stop for lunch. It seats plenty of people, there is never a long line, the location is excellent, and the sandwiches DOMINATE any other sandwich shop in the area. Love their turkey cran sandwich– I always go back for it.

Absolutely horrible. Tried them twice and no more. I should have known when I ordered the chicken shawarma sandwich and the lady grabbed something wrapped with paper and threw it in the microwave. It turned out that’s the shredded chicken, or what looked like chicken, for the sandwich. That sandwich went to the trash after the first bite. The falafel sandwich wasn’t any better.

First I’ll say I’m not a fan of cold cut sandwhiches at all… but Port Deli is the only place where I like their cold sandwhiches. Chicken and Turkey is always fresh! They go out of their way to make you a great meal, and they’re always so friendly! I can see why this place has such a true following! Try their Chicken Vegetable rice special if you dont feel like having a sandwich. Just as fresh and yummy!

So after hearing my coworkers rave about this place, i decided it was time for me to try it. And im so happy that i did. I ordered their turkey and cranberry on sourdough bread. This is the best sandwich i ever had! Their sourdough bread is to die for. It has a nice blend of sour and sweet and has a fresh baked taste to it. The cranberry sauce taste home made and not out of the jar crap, they have dark and white FRESH turkey meat and theyre not stingy with the meat. The turkey was nice and tender and full of flavor. I cant wait to get my hands on another one. all this for a little over 7bux. SOWORTHIT!!!

Port Deli is one of those places that will constantly leave you satisfied and never leave you frowning. As a «sammie john», you can find me always browsing the«track» for that sweet piece and dropping a few bills in the process. I’ll search high and low to find the perfect sammie much like how Craigslist is used for browsing… for free used TV’s… yeah! One thing that is completely needed for a typical deli, is consistency. I must say Port Deli has been very consistent with their sandwiches. I’ve tried several of their specials, all have been amazing. However I must say the«chicken shawarma» is my all time favorite. Matter of fact as I type this, I am munching down on one! I’ve yet to try out their salad bar, though extremely small it does look very fresh. Take it from one sandwich lover to another; You can’t go wrong here! Very very solid place!

Port Deli sells cold and hot sammie’s in the 5 to 6 range. salads, soups, and hot dogs also available. port deli is spacious. there are tables to sit at, and the whole place is brightly lit and clean. when i entered a latina asked me «ni hao ma?(how are you?) i answered: ma ma foo foo(so so). seems she doesn’t understand, just wanted to practice her chinese. sampling: proscuitto’s delight on dutch crunch(6.25) –many slices of proscuitto, cold swiss cheese, mustard, mayo, lettuce, seasonings, very filling. –sammie above average. something was missing. vinegarette? peppers? 3.5 stars.

Perfection in simplicity! I had an hour to kill and was about lunchtime. I noticed this new and clean little deli across from senic Oakland harbor. Bread was fresh andf tasty, sandwich, turkey(I had them mix light and dark fresh roasted). All very fresh and delicious unlike mass transit sandwich shops version. Very satisfied and filled up for less than $ 6.
