Stick with drinks and staple bar food. The crab cakes are not worth it– all breadcrumbs for 16 bucks!

Where to start? On my first visit to Fire Island, Albatross definitely left a great impression of the island’s friendly hospitality. The service here was perfection. We had a very friendly server who was always attentive. We kept asking for napkins, condiments, more drinks and he always had a great attitude. The food came out quickly and was all delicious. Among the many things my group of 9 ordered were, the mac and cheese bites, buffalo wings, nachos supreme, fried calamari, baked clams etc. You can say we had an appetizer fest and we were all very pleased with the quality of the food. On Sundays they have seafood specials and $ 5 domestic beers. They count with outdoor seating as well as a full bar. This is a great place to stop by after an afternoon on the beach.

Went to Albatross for drinks before boarding out Ferry back to Long Island. Got a couple of rounds of drinks and snacks. While the drinks and snacks were ok, the service was TERRIBLE. The waitress(Catrina) prompted us to leave passive aggressively even before we had finished our last round of drinks. While a few people were waiting, we thought it was very unprofessional and rude. Additionally, multiple tables had started to clear. On top of that, the waitress manually penned in the tip when we paid so as to not have her service reflect on the tip that we paid. Nice place with a lovely deck. But ABYSMALSERVICE. Go to the awesome Castaway if you want to chill and have a good time instead!

There aren’t many options in Ocean Beach on a weekday in early June, but we came by here for lunch and were pleased with our choice. Got a dozen oysters, wings, and clam chowder from the friendly and consistently attentive bartender, and it was all good. The oysters were fresh and well opened(no shell fragments or cut oysters), the wings were piping hot and slightly spicy, and the chowder seemed homemade and had good clam flavor. Not fancy but tasty and great service.

I wish I could give zero stars. Absolutely disgusting. The burger tasted like fish and the waitress Katrina played stupid after I complained and still charged us for my entrée. What a nasty experience… I hope they go out of business. I won’t be able to eat beef for days without thinking it’s tainted… thanks Albatross!

Albatross! Came with a group of 8 to fire island and this was our first stop. Ordered mixed drinks, strawberry coladas and rocket fuels of course. Bartender was pleasant and quick. Ordered appetizers including calamari, wings, Mac & cheese bites and nachos. Everything was very good. Prices pretty in line with other bars in the area.

Everything about this place was bad. We sat down at nine on a Wednesday night and saw our server three times(take order/bring food/give check). Our water glasses stayed empty and we had to keep asking for napkins and utensils that never came. The«buffalo» wings were more like cheap flavored mixture of buffalo sauce and BBQ sauce from Costco. The chicken fingers looked good, but were mostly fried bread and no chicken. And the penne vodka came out cold. We won’t be making. A trip back here any time soon…

Fantastic diner last night. We had the tuna steak and it was flawless. The service was also great

Outdoor seating, friendly staff, and prompt service. I ordered a cheeseburger, which came with fries, lettuce, tomato and a pickle. Nice sized burger, served on a roll. A little overpriced, but appropriate for the location. Good experience, will be back.

The onion soup was average, however presentation was horrible. It was burnt sloppy Swiss cheese and the dish was cracked. The ice that the clams should have come in was ice water! The wine? $ 11.00. Why?! Not out of this world. My first visit to fire island. My last visit, to this restaurant.

nice bar crowd, although that can change in a flash. Attentive barstaff, good drinks, every table was filled. A seasonal favorite for many. Make sure to swing the lights. Very mellow vibe yesterday watching the Jets season opener, and very personable bartender.

Didn’t eat here, but they have a bunch of fresh grapefruits behind the bar that they squeeze to-order with Ketel One to make greyhounds. Try one.

We had dinner here. Filled with kids and a staff that isn’t attentive. Stuffed lobster was underwhelming. Food was mediocre at best and priced like it was better then average. The bruschetta app was akin to Pizza Hut. I wouldn’t recommend eating here.

THE place to be! The DJ plays everything from Latin to Country to HipHop and 70s. The crowd is always up for a great time and the drinks are mixed well. High five! Knocked off 1 star for always charging a cover.

Real solid sea food, and Great South Bay on tap. Can’t complain about that! Grilled scallops were the size of my chicks fists! She has small hands, but still! Little neck steamers done perfectly, as was the fried calamari. Service was real solid as well! The star of the show though were the fish tacos. Blackened talapia on a soft tortilla with pico, guac, and sour cream. Amazing! Definitely a return trip is in order next time I head to Fire Island.

Best French onion soup on Fire Island. Roasted chicken is amazing as well. One of the few bars with a tap on Fire Island.

Probably my favorite place to get sauced up and spend an evening in OB. Why? –Never overly packed. –Decent drink prices and good bartenders –Booths along the outside and plenty of stools at the bar. –Small outdoor deck in the front –Good tunes and better crowd than most of the other bars. –I smacked those lights that everyone is talking about probably 500x last summer. No one seems to care as long as your getting the bartender some shots throughout the eve. That’s why. Enjoi.

This watering hole’s hull of a ship ambiance is fitting for the island feel. Cozy booths close to the bar are conducive to chilling out. Dim lantern lights dangle above the bar and set the mood in this hangout. As the night progresses and the tips add up, the lanterns start to spin(the bar’s trademark) and so does your head. Albatross is a safe bet whether you’re looking to start the night or stay the night. check out more about fire island at

«DON’T SWINGTHELIGHTS» — the signs are everywhere and that just about guarantees that some drunkard is going to swing the lights… The lights over the bar are all the hanging type and sure enough, the ceiling all around them are scarred up from the swinging action. This is a great bar located in the land of NO. Conveniently located right near the ferry landing it is a good place to start and end the weekend out on Ocean Beach. They have bar food that is pretty decent and the place rocks all night with the day trippers and the summer rental peeps.
