The hostess was very rude and I can tell she was extremely racist. She approached us like we were lost and asked us if we needed help. Never going there again!

This is a great breakfast place with lots of excellent menu options. It is on the small side so can be crowded and require a wait at times. I found the server to be very attentive. Try the in house made donuts for sure

I loved the food. I’m a southerner and picky about grits, their grits were on point! Nice staff, limited ambiance, but hey, it’s a family style restaurant. The donuts were AWESOME!

Went there on a Friday morning. We were seated immediately. Server was polite and attentive. I thought the food arrived fairly quickly. Coffee was good quality and hot and I was offered a top off several times. I thought the food was very good. Hash browns were very good(not greasy) the sausage links were a bit spicy for my 15 year old but I enjoyed it. I would come back.
On a side note to the new parents out there wanting to bring your infant and your toddler to this place It is a bit small and I thought the atmosphere was not suitable for a roughly 4 month old and her toddler sibling, It is a very busy atmosphere and with the clinging of plates, silver ware and conversation going in the restaurant, the last thing this restaurant and any other restaurant needs is your kid screaming and carrying on as load as possible and you not making any effort to comfort them. Do your self and everyone else a favor and get carry out and take to your room. It’s vacation for most in the restaurant and your should consider this when deciding to bring your kid out to a costly breakfast. Bottom line, good place to eat, we will return! Sorry to vent on the kid thing.

I hope we went on an off day because the location on 16th street was so much better. The wait wasn’t too bad, but the food we received was over cooked and burnt. The bacon and cheese omelet was ok but was too dry because it was cooked too long. The corned beef hash was black and burnt. My kids pancakes was tough to cut and wasn’t fluffy at all. Had to drown it in syrup so they can eat it.

Great breakfast spot in OC. Always a fave to go to when we are in town. They have great breakfasts for reasonable prices. They are only open till 2:30 and some days can get pretty busy so make sure you plan ahead.

Second visit here. First time it was just the 4 of us, had to wait an hour, Second time we came with the whole family, party of 8 and got a seat right away. Good breakfast food, omelettes are great!

I had the Noreaster, which was nicely cooked and not greasy. I’d likely get it again. As with most places in the area, the seating area(which we reached after a short outdoor wait) was a bit small. The various donuts which were sampled were acceptable. There were plenty of free samples given out, which made for a nice vibe. I got a pretty basic meal, which was basically pretty good. I expected a greasy mess in huge portions, but instead got a nice, sensible breakfast dish. I’d recommend Layton’s overall.

Good breakfast diner. Nothing fancy about this place — food, restaurant or service. All fresh food cooked to order. They do make their own donuts but who doesn’t have fresh donuts anyway. Mom and pop family biz who does breakfast right. Store closes by 2:30 — 3PM so don’t go too late. Bathrooms need an update and cleaning.

Our group heard this was an awesome place to eat, so we decided to walk from our condo on 106th and go there for Sunday morning breakfast. There was a 20 minutes wait– which we figured, which was fine. Once we got in and ordered our food it took over 40 minutes to get our food– absolutely ridiculous. Parties larger than us were getting their food 10⁄15 minutes before us. The waitress didn’t apologize for the wait or anything… Great food, great prices, but was very very slow.

Gluten free pancakes and freshly squeezed OJ are great but the slice of rubbery American cheese on the cheese grits left a whole lot to be desired.

We came here twice because of convenience. The first visit, we both had the Grand Slam, which was pancakes, eggs, 2 meats, and a hashbrowns. The pancakes were super fluffy and golden, and our request for crispy hashbrowns was honored. I also had a glass of their fresh squeeze OJ, which when first served, I was disappointed because of the size of the cup. However, when I tried it, I immediately knew it was all fresh squeezed juice that was amazing. I took off one star because I prefer my eggs over well. No runny yokes for me. The first set was runny and when I asked for the over well eggs, another set was brought out that was equally as runny. I ate the whites, but did not enjoy the yokes. Our second visit was a quick one because we had a fishing trip booked. I had the special pancakes that day, which had coconut and banana in the batter. Amazing! Another set of fluffy pancakes. Both visits had fast service and our food came out quickly. We tried their doughnuts and thought they were very good. The cinnamon bun I had made a great breakfast snack the next morning after heating it up in the microwave for a couple seconds. If you are looking for a good breakfast, I would suggest Layton’s. Was it anything over the top special? No. But the pancakes were incredibly fluffy and I really enjoyed the special ones. I would come back every year we visit OCMD.

SO and I went here twice. Both times our food was excellent, and the first time our food came out almost right after we ordered it! I loved the sausage gravy. What I don’t understand is why the iced coffee I ordered was almost all ice, to the point where it was difficult to put cream/sweetener in it. A place so popular in the summer months really should have something better worked out for iced coffee.

We walked here from our hotel Monday AM. Happy to find an outdoor eating experience we were sat immediately. But we weren’t. We walked in, asked for a table and they pointed around the corner outside and said there was a table we could take. With not a heck of a lot of joy in their tone. Whatever, it was early I mean I hadn’t had any coffee yet either so that’s okay. Our waitress wasn’t that great. Not perky or even happy to be helping us and we only saw her when she took our order, brought our food and check. The coffee was mediocre at best, watery and I ordered a cappuccino thinking that would be better. It wasn’t. I ordered two eggs scrambled, with sausage and fruit. The best part was the fruit, real fresh cut up fruit which was an excellence change of pace from other fruit cups I’ve had at morning places. My eggs were good, and the sausage was alright. Too greasy and fatty for my taste but that’s your gamble! My fiancé had the egg croissant sandwich and didn’t really care for his either. If you’re drunk/hungover and want some breakfast food I’d hit this place up. I’m sure it would have tasted fine. But if you’re looking for a cute and amazing breakfast place. I’d try up the road somewhere else.

Food: I ordered the Memorial Day special Chesapeake Benedict. It was a spin on the classic eggs Benedict but instead of ham there were crab cakes. It was delicious. The crab cakes had big lumps of crab in them and my eggs were cooked perfectly. My husband ordered pancakes and eggs. His eggs came a little undercooked for what he ordered and he said his pancakes were nothing special. Service: Upon walking in, the place was quite busy. Despite this, we were seated within 10 minutes. Our server took our Oder but it took quite a while to get to us. I know they were busy and that could be why, how wet the hostess stopped by our table and questioned if we had been served yet. When we finally received our food, the people seated after we were and around us were severed quickly. I’m guessing it was just a hiccup with our table.

This was our first time eating at Layton’s. Well actually we didn’t eat in, I sent my husband and he did a pick up. My son loved his breakfast, he got the grand slam I believe it’s called. My husband got himself and me the hungry man. I wasn’t a fan of the sausage gravy and the sausage that was in the meal wasn’t breakfast sausage but link sausage. I found it a little off putting at first, but I grew to enjoy it. Would I order that again? No. However, my son’s eggs and pancakes(which he let me taste) were delicious. So would I visit Layton’s if in the area again? Yes.

Arrived here on a Saturday morning after 10:30AM and waited for about 15 minutes. Not too bad at all. The service is very fast and efficient! Moment you sit down, our cheerful waitress asked for our drink order and came back in a flash to get our order. I got watermans breakfast, as I had a craving for crabs(good size fried crab cake). It tasted just fine. My gf got big breakfast(slam?) with two meats, 2 eggs, and pancakes. Quite filling! I could have eaten a whole plate of their hash browns. Yum! The prices are reasonable and had a better breakfast than at Clarion Hotel breakfast buffet the day before(too limited selection for the price you pay). When the bill comes, you have to pay where the take out counter is. There you can see their homemade donuts, which I will need to try next time I’m back in OC. Wonder how they compare to Fractured Prunes donuts!

Very clean, very friendly and attentive staff. Nice atmosphere. Expensive, almost ten bucks for a western omelet with cheese that does not come with hash browns. Almost three bucks for a 12 oz juice. Only open until 2pm. Personal pet peeve issue– like all ocean city breakfast places, they do a crêpe style omelet. The omelet filling is loose and simply wrapped in egg(instead of the filling being integrated into the egg). A minor issue, but I’d really like to see a non crêpe style omelet hit this town. When the filling is just loose like that, it falls off your fork and is a pain to eat. The omelet was tasty though, I’d recommend.
