This is one of my favorite places in town. It’s fairly cheap, the atmosphere is fun and the food tastes great! I highly recommend it to anyone. I like the BLT but the chicken and Waffles are pretty great too!

We stopped into Pig & A Jelly Jar for some breakfast. The menu looked very good and we were excited to get some good food in our bellies. Unfortunately, we sat and waited for a very, very long time before anyone came to take our order. There seemed to be several people serving tables and there were even a couple of the larger tables which were empty. So, I am not sure what was going on there. After awhile we ordered our drinks, but had to wait quite awhile again before the drinks arrived or before someone came to take our order. Once our server arrived with our drinks, I ordered the Vegetarian 3 Egg Scramble which consisted of cage free eggs, no meat, extra veggies, provolone, bloody mary salsa, and cottage fries made with jalapeño, red pepper, onion, rosemary. It was very tasty. Everyone seemed to be pleased with the breakfasts we had ordered. Besides the long wait to order our food, the only other aspect of eating at Pig & a Jelly Jar that was not so great was the chairs at our table. They were just metal frames and my chair was by far the most uncomfortable chair I have ever had at a restaurant. It looked like some of the other tables had chairs which actually had cushions on them, so I would imagine your dining experience will be a bit more pleasant if you get one of those.

Quick seating, unlike the salt lake location which is always packed(probably a good thing). GREAT buffalo chicken sliders! Nice atmosphere.

So delicious! Great atmosphere. You get a plate full of food for a really good price. I had the ham hash and I finished the entire plate which is out of the ordinary for me. They also serve alcohol. The staff is super friendly. 10 out of 10 would eat there again.

Delicious!!! Me and my family are visiting from California and this has been one of the best breakfast spots we’ve been to out here. Super friendly staff and great prices on amazing food!

These folks definitely have a different, fresh take on things, especially when compared with other places here in Ogden. It’s clear that they put a lot of thought and care into everything they do and that effort pushes them into the 5 star category for me. The food they serve is out of the norm and that will appeal to some people more than others. For me, it’s a big plus because I’ve learned that’s where amazing things come from. I’m not saying that everything we had was amazing because that’s not the case and I wouldn’t ever expect it to be. For example, I tried the Ham Hash and I’ve read several raves about it but for me, it seemed like they were trying a bit too hard. On the other hand, my wife had a pulled pork sandwich and that qualified as amazing in both our opinions. We will definitely be back for more and to see what other amazing things they can do. Definitely a younger, indie restaurant feel but welcoming to anyone of any age. Great service all around. We wish them the very best ongoing.

I was traveling back from Snowbasin and decided to pick this place from a number of restaurants in the area. We had a group of 9, so we were able to get a variety of items off the menu. Drinks: in the Utah style, no liquor-based cocktails. I tried their version of a Bloody Mary and mimosa. Not bad for a beer-based Bloody Mary but obviously a lot weaker than Vodka. The Mimosa was good. Pulled pork sandwich: moist pork, good bun and well-seasoned with BBQ. Hand cut fries were excellent. Chicken and waffles: for a dish that’s considered one of their signature, not so good. Dry chicken and under seasoned. Waffle was good. Fish and chips: very good. Light batter and moist fish. Slaw salad. One of their only Gluten free dishes. Not bad but a bit runny on the dressing. Pork and beans. Under seasoned. Potato salad. Don’t get it. Worst I’ve ever tasted.

Pretty good and a great environment for Ogden’s 25th street. The chicken and waffles are the way to go and cheep PBR, can’t beat that!

Very good! Get anything ham! The coconut strawberry jam was divine on the scones… the atmosphere was great. Be warned! This is a hot spot… lots of customers, worth the wait though! Will definitely seek this place it again!

I was here for an early lunch and lucked into their 5 $ chicken and waffles! They were pretty good but everything on the menu looked really good so I’m disappointed I didn’t try something else. I did have the fruit plate but I would not order it again it was just apples and grapes, not much to write home about. The cocktails looked great, I just wish I wasn’t there for lunch and I could have tried something. The wait staff seemed pretty good but I saw the manager correct the waitress in front of customers, I thought this to be rude and should’ve happened in private. Otherwise what a great experience and look forward to coming back, the menu looked great!

I’m a girl who knows breakfast food. Ask me what my favorite meal is and without hesitating, I will tell you«brunch» every time. That being said, I highly recommend Pig & A Jelly Jar. And when you come here, you HAVE to get the chicken and waffles! If you enjoy cocktails with your breakfast, you should definitely try the PBR Mary. This place is kind of crowded and has limited seating. The music is also WAY too loud for me. But overall it’s got a really great feel to it.

You know when you eat something so good that you have anxiety that other food you like just won’t taste as good anymore or you have anxiety because your next opportunity to eat that dish again might come later than you want? Well … I ate here for the first time and tried the Ham Hash. I have that described anxiety and am plotting my next excuse to come back. Maybe my new favorite place. Love everything about Pig and a Jelly Jar.

We started with the beignets. I wasn’t crazy about them — then again I’ve had them from Café du Monde in New Orleans so it’s not a fair comparison. They were good — especially with the blueberry lavendar jam. We ordered the ham hash and pork belly benedict. I liked the sauce on the ham hash. We came away with a jar of the strawberry coconut jelly — which was delish. Recommendations: Serve decaf coffee. Pros: The service was outstanding! The staff I found all helped each other with their tables, whether it was delivering food or clearing plates or filling drinks. The customers always win when this happens!!! In addition, there were 2 homeless guys eating the morning we dined there. Someone that works there took care of their meal and the tip. Such an outpouring of generosity!

I lived in Ogden for a while and Pig & A Jelly Jar was easily my favorite restaurant. Still is my all time favorite, anywhere. Modern American food, excellent freshness and quality ingredients, great value… Ham hash and the Pig Burger are my favorite menu items, but the ketchup is house made /local and SPECTACULAR! I’d buy it by the bottle or case if I knew where to find it. The management is great, employees seem happy, location and interior are ideal. I wish for a location near me!

Ogden needs more local breakfast places so I was excited when Pig and a Jelly Jar opened up on 25th street. However, they did fall short of my expectations. I got the pig breakfast with breakfast sausage, over medium eggs, and sourdough bread. The eggs were 100% without a doubt the best and most perfect over medium eggs I’ve ever had. I don’t know how they managed to cook them fluffy, perfect, and flavorful, but they did. I would go back just for a repeat of those eggs, but I have no idea if they will be consistent or not. I did not like the breakfast sausage at all. It was herby and weird tasting, not like a traditional flavorful, greasy breakfast sausage. The potatoes were a lot like Ore-Ida Potatoes O-Brien, which is still tasty, but I expected more. And the biggest disappointment: the sourdough bread. It wasn’t buttered and they didn’t offer me jam either. It wasn’t until the end when they were bringing all sorts of jam flavors to other tables that I realized that I could have taken my toast up a notch. I wish my waiter would’ve offered this at the beginning. I thought it was so weird that with a name«Pig in a Jelly Jar» that I didn’t like the sausage and there was no jelly offered. My husband loved his Mexican scramble. I wasn’t a big fan of that either. I plan to come back and try the ham hash and fried chicken. Oh, and the jam. Hopefully one day I’ll be here after 11:30AM(stupid Utah rules) so I can try their PBR cocktails. They have a bloody mary one and I love cheap beer with bloody mary mix. Trust me, it’s surprisingly good(not that I’ve tried theirs yet). I’m hoping to bump up this review after a few more visits, but so far it was just A-OKAY.

OK. Can we talk about the fried chicken for a second here? So delicious. So moist, so perfectly seasoned. The waffle in their classic chicken and waffle dish isn’t bad, but it’s nothing to write home about. The staff is friendly and accommodating, the biscuits(or shortcake?) we got were delicious, a d the atmosphere is fun. A great place to get some grub. Next time I will venture out on the menu and report back.

Ok. I’ve been here enough times now to know that I’m a fan! My hubby just LOVES the chicken and waffles(WITH the egg) after coming off a night shift. I do not have a favorite dish(yet) having tried different things each time I’ve been there. The salads are huge and tasty. The half portion of ham hash was just the right size for me(I am a girl after all…). The pig breakfast, I think was the meal I could take or leave, but with so much other stuff on the menu, who cares, and it wasn’t BAD, I just didn’t think it was great. I’ve never had to wait for a table, inside or out.

Let’s not go crazy with the 5-star reviews yet. Although I haven’t been to the SLC location that I heard is quite good, I have been to this location twice. It is located in a great spot right along the historic 25th street. Seating is very limited and tight but you don’t feel too cramped. During both of my visits the staff started out by saying what they didn’t have available on the menu. I think they are still working out the consumption quantity since they are quite new, so I’m sure that will improve. The food is different and unique for Ogden and that is great, but I still think the quality needs a bit of work. Waffles were under cooked on two of our plates. We also ordered the hash was also cool. Its makes me think that again, their kitchen timing is still off. I have no doubt that this place will continue to improve and I look forward to my next visit as does the rest of my family.

All the goodness of the first location in Salt Lake with a shorter drive for those of us in the Top of Utah. Pig takes its place on Historic 25th Street, adding competition and sisterhood to a lot of restaurants. A few things will set Pig apart and make it a top destination. Pork. They use a lot of it in their recipes and prepare it masterfully. From the sandwiches to the pork belly Benedict(my personal favorite) you have tastes you don’t normally get in the 844 zip codes. Chicken and Waffles. As foreign to most Utahns as kegs of beer or not dipping things in fry sauce. A perfect mix of sweet and savory that will please. Try it. PBR cocktails. Take a nasty beer and turn it in to some pretty cool cocktails. Innovative, creative, and just different. Get busy hitting all areas of the menu. Breakfast and lunch are the specialties and you will be as wowed by the burgers with their special sauces, the buffalo chicken sliders, or the breakfast scrambles. On your way out the door, make sure you pick up a jar of homemade jelly.
