Stopped in for lunch while doing some shopping, it was busy-busy-busy! But service was still quick, and they have lots of enticing options. They have a wide variety of lovely loose tea, and a more extensive menu than what they show online. I had a pesto tuna salad which was surprisingly delicious, full of fresh basil flavor, and crunchy from nuts. I polished it off and was impressed that a bookstore café could produce such impressive, fresh food in big portions. Husband loved his huge Cobb salad as well. Great place for a healthy lunch if you’re sick of the same old mall chains!

Food is good and reasonably priced. Usually enough seating but not enough electrical outlets so come with your laptop charged if you’re coming to work.

Don’t come here for the Internet. Coffee and pastries were passable, but the internet connection was crap both times I came here(twice this week). Painfully slow connection.

I can really only speak for one item on the menu – the gourmet grilled cheese is fantastic. It’s on ciabatta bread and comes with cheddar cheese and bruschetta. YUM!

Although the book store is WONDERFUL, I can’t say the same about the café. 1) The staff is neither friendly nor surly. They just do not seem to care. They are there to punch the cash register, take your order and fill it. Rarely a pleasant greeting or a hint of smile. And I am a very friendly person, mainly because I’ve been in their position and know how some customers treat staff behind a cash register. So I always try to chat with the staff about mundane stuff. I get a cold brush off with this staff though – this has been going on for years now. 2) The food is way overpriced for the quality. Sometimes it is very good; most of the time it is mediocre. 3) Coffee seems to be in line with other similar places. But it is nice to be able to get a cup of coffee after you’ve purchased your items. The décor & setting is nice. It seems to be a popular spot for groups and students from MSU& other local schools.
