truly, nothing extraordinary about Sunday brunch. When i bought a Groupon for Café Nova several months ago, i bought it to enjoy the bottomless mimosa Sunday brunch. when we were there yesterday, there was no such thing. so my daughter and i ordered the Western omelette. Cubed ham, very few ingredients…85% egg mixture… for $ 15. i think not! unbelievably, when i ordered hot tea, there was NO hot tea available… apparently not ONE bag of tea to blend in steeped water. they buy their iced tea pre-made, which is OK. But have you ever ever been in a restaurant that did not have/offer HOT tea when it’s 40 degrees outside??? wouldn’t waste my time or money at Café Nova

The things I enjoy most about Café Nova are the unlimited mimosa brunch and the décor. The service is spotty and the food varies in how well it’s prepared, but I’m not sure you can find a better brunch deal if you love mimosas and pretty decent brunch for $ 18. It’s not my cup of tea as far as bars go, but the patio on the south side of the building is decent as well. Not a bad place to go if you’re out on Western, but it’s not a favorite either.

I really enjoy the lunch menu and not just because it’s $ 6.99 but because it’s good. I don’t feel rushed when I go in there. I didn’t realize the keep it local card gave me a free appetizer until after my meal so I made sure to use it the second time I went. They messed up my friends order so to make thugs right in our world they slid a slice of strawberry cake our way. Way to keep this fat girl happy… cake. I’ve only had the tilapia and the sliders so I will be making a weekly appearance there to try everything else. I can only pray their shrimp and grits is as good as I can get it in New Orleans. I’m on my third lunch trip here and I must say I have yet to be disappointed and ice had 3 different things. The meatloaf sandwich is amazing. If you don’t like sweet and tangy I wouldn’t suggest it but I like anything sweet so this hit the spot! And of course, the tots are to die for!

My first impression wasn’t the best that Café Nova could have given me. Staring at a customer when she walks through the door — not okay. But then, Anna walked through the door, and I instantly liked her. She was courteous, friendly, quick, etc. A friend and I split a pitcher of Sangria. I wouldn’t recommend it because there really isn’t that much alcohol in there. They are tasty, but won’t get your buzz going. We each ordered an appetizer: buffalo wings & bruschetta. Both were pretty delicious. I was pleasantly surprised when the wings were boneless. I don’t know what I expected with the brushetta — there were four small pieces. Delicious, but not worth $ 5. Best part? Happy Hour from 4 to 7. Buy a $ 5 appetizer and drink all the Miller High Life you want.

I came in for breakfast with no power at the house, must say I wasn’t displeased! As a chef myself, two things, toast the muffin a bit longer, eggs perfect, and a bit bigger piece of tloin, and maybe clean it better, and more rare for a medium steak, bit thin and hard to do I know but if it is that thin and blue that bad boy!(for me) Thanks guys, maybe next time I’ll catch your name with the great smile and topaz/jade earrings and have more to talk about than muted ESPN… Cheers guys, have a great week! I didn’t actually eat here: I went in with a friend to have a drink at the bar, and hoped to peruse the menu to find a bite to eat. Then something went awry– I began to lose my appetite fairly quickly because an unindentified stench permeated the area around the bar. I hate that I wasn’t able to give this place a chance, but I really didn’t want to stick around. Hope management is aware of the stink and figures out how to fix it, quickly!

I came here for Sunday brunch and they had a special: $ 18 for bottomless mimosas and one entrée. For that price you get very small portions of food. I got the western omelet with a side of potatoes. I was still hungry afterwards. Mimosas weren’t that great. I still had several glasses and each one was room temperature. It would’ve been better if it was cold. Omelet was decent, nothing special. I tried a friend’s super nova salad. The salad was great but the chicken was AWFUL! It left a disgusting after taste. It was as if someone cooked it on a dirty pan used to cook something else beforehand. They gave him a small discount on the salad due to the bad chicken. I was impressed with customer service. I went through so many glasses of water and mimosa but never had to flag down a waiter for refills. They were very on top of things. One last thing, it was extremely loud in here. As in, you have to yell at the top of your lungs to talk to your friends. But they do a great job at accommodating large groups. There’s a small room in the back that’s closed off to the rest of the restaurant. I imagine you can reserve it for special events.

Wow… the whole place had this intense nauseating smell of vomit. It was GROSS. But putting that disturbing fact behind us, the drinks were average priced and were not too strong or weak, very average. I think this bar could have been wonderful if the whole place hadn’t smelled like a fraternity bathroom.

I was in OKC for a friends birthday party Saturday night. After a long night of dancing and breaking a sweat on the dance floor we decided to start our Sunday Funday with brunch. We all met up at Café Nova. I had never been here before and I ended up being the first one to arrive. Rather than wait for everyone else to arrive I went off and explored the Asian district and area around Café Nova. Call it a small exploration. Upon entering Café Nova, it resembled a club. And it sure felt like it. A friend of mine stated to me later that the place does turn into a nightclub on Friday and Saturday nights. I enjoyed the atmosphere because it was real chill. It’d be great for a happy hour chat with a friend or in my case, Sunday brunch with a group of friends. The menu is one page long and limited, but all the items did sound delicious. The waiter told us about the sunday specials one of which happened to be a Burrito filled with your choice of ham, turkey, eggs, potatoes and some other stuff topped with a santa fe or green chile style sauce. I along with 2 others ordered the Sunday burrito special. I chose ham, eggs, and potatoes for the filling along with both the santa fe and green chile sauce. Boy, when it came out it sure looked delicious. It only took about 5 minutes for me to finish the plate because I was that hungry and it was that tasty! According to my other two friends who also ordered the burrito, the red santa fe style sauce didnt turn out the way they wanted so they requested a side of green chile sauce to add to the mixture essentially making their burrito just like mine. If you’re looking for sunday brunch with a group of friends or a Friday afternoon Happy Hour be sure to check out Café Nova.

Best brunch in Oklahoma City — hands down. LOVE the food here all around, but am especially fond of Nova’s brunch.

Café nova used to be my go to spot back in the day. However, it has changed management several times over the years and has morphed into a bar/restaurant that I no longer visit too often. It is still a great local place to go get some drinks and appetizers, but not really somewhere I would recommend for dinner. I definitely get the feel here that it is more of a bar that happens to serve food. That being said, it is a very nice atmosphere with pretty reasonable prices if you go during happy hour or lunch. They have $ 5 appetizer happy hour with free miller lite on the week days 4−7pm. Their lunch is $ 6.99 is includes a variety of options. Their dinner menu is good, but is a relatively small menu. The food is good, but not great. I will still visit every few months and support a long standing local business. Who knows, maybe the scenery and management will change again!

Something I noticed at Café Nova was the fairly high ratio of attractive women to men(attractive or otherwise). I figure that there are people out there who would appreciate that knowledge. You’re welcome. Happy Hour. 4 pm to 7 pm. Free draft beer with the purchase of an appetizer. So it’s possible for you to spend only $ 5.00 and then drink your fill of beer until you find yourself: (a) in a state of relaxation OR(b) in a state of utter smashedness(not a word). Like my alcoholic friends. Most recently(today), the server didn’t even bother hiding her surprise that I came in with my friends during Happy Hour and asked, «Can I get a Coke?» She was nice enough. She handled my friend’s attempts at flirtation with civility and grace. Food arrived quickly. When asked for the bill, it arrived quicker still. Food; the Mini Chicken Chimis, or whatever they’re called is about the only thing I remember from my experiences here. They taste like the Southwestern Eggrolls from Chili’s. I don’t think that’s a bad thing, because they’re the only things I like at Chili’s. Certainly nothing to phone home about though. Smallish portion sizes too. I noticed the word«pretentious» being thrown around more than once in some of the other reviews, and I have to say that I’ve never caught that vibe at Café Nova. I can think of far more pretentious places than this. That right there is possibly a pretentious statement. I dunno, maybe it’s different on the weekend?

The food is fair. Though I once ordered shrimp and grits and the grits where inedible. They had been burned. The salads are decent. The bar is reminds me of a sweet 16 party where the all the invitations were lost in the mail. Everything is set up but where are the people? The DJ often plays Trance music while the few onlookers shrug. I’m not sure this bar can be saved but do we really want it to be?

Whipped Potatoes to die for! I love it here! I ate here with a friend who knew most of the staff so we had the so called«Hook Up» being able to eat while the restaurant was supposed to be closed for a private party. The food was just simply amazing! I can’t wait to go back to OKC so I can eat here again!

Oh, Café Nova, I just can’t quit you. The $ 17 unlimited mimosa brunch is undeniably the best deal on Sundays in OKC, but Jimmy’s Egg it is not– if you dare come in ready to run errands around town, you will stick out like a sore thumb! The food is plentiful with complimentary cinnamon chips, bread and cheese, as well as large portions of your meal of choice with fruit, potatoes, and bacon. I had crab benny last time(eggs Benedict on crab cakes) – it was delicious but one egg wasn’t cooked well. I didn’t miss that egg because I was so full, but was glad I didn’t start with it. Not my go-to for late night drinks, but a solid brunch spot.

FREEBEER! Now that i have your attention, FREEBEER with purchase of $ 5 appetizer! I remember all those months ago when I drove by and saw the sign, Free Beer M-F 4 – 7. That is one of the things i miss about OK. If you haven’t gone to Café Nova yet, get in your car and head on down for some Happy Hour. The free beer is usually Bud Light, but at free you really can’t complain. The one stipulation is that you order an appetizer, they are all $ 5. More of the food in a minute. If your not a beer drinker then take part in there $ 4 wells. My favorite drink to get here is a french 75. Its a girlie drink I’ll admit, But 2 of those and you can walk through walls! WOW are they strong! Ok so now on to the food, they $ 5 appetizer menu is actually really good. I LOVE the gourmet tots, sliders, and cheese fries. The gourmet tots are has browns with ham, egg, cheese, all battered up and deep friend and served with ranch. I start to drool every time i thing about those little tasty things. The sliders are wonderful with your choice of cheese. Cheese fries are nice and tasty, remember to order them layered hint hint! The veggie or chicken chimi’s are ok, just to greasy for me. The regular menu has some great items on it, and brunch is amazing. Although my last trip in OKC there price went up to $ 18 per person. So i went to brunch elsewhere. If your looking for a place to start off your western crawl, or just a cheap place to have a few with the boys. This is your place. They have alot to park in, DONT park across the street at SipNGo, they will tow.

Even though Bud Light select isn’t my fave, I cant pass up free beer! so far since relocating from Phoenix in October 2011 this is the first place worth writing about. super friendly staff, loved the atmosphere, very well decorated. Just a fun, hip place. We had the bruschetta, gourmet tots and the wings, the bruschetta was my favorite. Very Yummy. the best part was even though draft beer is free and they constantly refill your beer glass, their wide selection of craft beers was very affordable, we had Sierra Nevada’s just 5 bucks a pop. I wish I had room for more food, as the person sitting near us had a cheeseburger and it looked sooooo good! Maybe next time, as we will be back

Café Nova begins my series of Happy Hours in Oklahoma City. I am a happy hour maniac. Any place w/good deals and I’ll check it out. Needless to say, when I heard that C. Nova had free BudSelect during Happy Hour, I was very intrigued. A buddy and I checked it out and at first everything seemed very promising. We got there 20 minutes before happy hour but the waitress didn’t mind at all and we got our free drinks quickly. We ordered the sliders, ahi tuna skewers, crab cakes, and the spicy chicken wings. Sounds good on paper. The food was very, very poor. The crab cakes were by far the best of the bunch but even then it was just mediocre. For the ahi tuna skewers, I ordered them rare. It came out very gray w/a slight pink in the middle. I think the grill«master» confused the tuna for a piece of steak. The sliders were not cooked very well also. We ordered it medium and it came out well done. Again over cooked. The chicken wings were forgetful. And that’s being nice. Had the chef not overcooked half our dishes, I would have given them a 3. I have been here at night and it is a decent nightspot but as far as their happy hour is concerned, I was very disappointed. Granted we only ordered appetizers but when the bill comes out to $ 40, I hope the food is at least decent. It was not.

Ambiance — actually pretty cool vibe and décor inside. The patio needs some TLC, but it was nice to be able to sit outside in the shade. Ordering — ME: does the eggs benny come with potatoes and fruit? SERVER: Well… I mean, we are really busy today so I don’t know what you will end up getting. ME: Come again? SERVER: Yeah — you may get them you may not. Luck of the draw around here. Food — just bad all around. Biscuits and gravy were bland, steak and eggs benny = steak was ordered med rare and was over cooked and tough, eggs might as well have been hard boiled and the bearnaise sauce was wrong… ALL wrong. Mimosa’s — gross. They were all OJ with a splash of champagne. I would rather pay and get something worth drinking. Service — let me just sum it up with one incident. Our waiter dropped a fork on the ground and proceeded to kick it not once, not twice, but three times to move it across the restaurant floor. For what reason, I have no idea because he then just left it there and walked away. Bathrooms — disgusting. We got there when it first opened and apparently they hadn’t cleaned the bathrooms for quite some time. Dirty fingerprints everywhere, clogged toilets, no toilet paper…

Interior is arty, modern, a bit pretentious, and fun. If you are coming to this place for drinks/nightlife: I would give it 1 star To have a meal: I haven’t used it in this fashion, so I have no comment For brunch: WhOLY !@#$!$! Awesome, 5 stars I did an average to come up with my 3 stars. Allow me to explain: At night, the type of people who hang out here are the glitzy fashionistas and the people that love them. It really gives off a pretentious, exclusive, snooty vibe. I guess some people are into that sort of thing though. Expect guys and gals in their upper 20’s to lower 30’s with trendy dressy apparel. You may also find an occasional«important person» like… someone that owns a restaurant in OKC, or perhaps a college professor. Expect them to use their clout to flirt with the young girls that fawn over their«prestige». HOWEVER, on Sunday mornings Okies celebrate a phenomenon know as «Sunday Funday». This is pretty much an all-day drinking festival that is often headquartered at «Nova». Yes, the food here is not worthy of the price… yes, the portions are small. However, on Sunday you can get the UMLIMITED omelet bar(you can even get«exotic» ingredients, like salmon) and pair it with UNLIMITED mimosas. Most of the Sunday morning crowds are bartenders and servers who’ve had to work the whole weekend. I miss Sunday Funday at Nova, good times.
