Absolutely terrible. For the«Golden Corral» price you get a buffet worthy of a bottom of the barrel gas station. You eat on cheap styrofoam plates with plastic silverware and disposable cups. To add to the no value dining experience, there is about 7 hot items to choose from and regardless of what it is it tastes like fish or was burnt and was room temperature or less. I’ve had better food at an OnCue. The staff was equally as unpleasant, no one greeted us, we had to stand at the front for nearly five minutes to pay FIRST before you sit down. I can only imagine this rule was only put in place to sucker you into their bad food. You couldn’t even complain because no one was around to even speak to and they looked unidentifiable as they wore no uniforms or nametags. For all you’d know you would be complaining to another disappointed customer. Stay away, save yourself, and go to Golden Corral. They have catfish that is just as good.

No doubt the best place in town to get all you can eat crab. Absolutely love the two servers that bring us crab — thanks Rachel & Christine. We are regulars every month — it’s can’t a miss routine

I was thrown back by the plasticware they gave us. The paper plates and cups and silverware was very unusual but I was able to get over it for all you can eat crab legs. The fries were cold and I really wasn’t that happy with anything at the bar BUT I’m a picky eater. Everyone else was really happy and loved the food so I will only speak for me. The crab legs were good though. The dessert«bar» wasn’t very good. The cobbler had a strange bread thing on top instead of pie crust. But the homemade ice cream was great!!!

I don’t know what the bad reviews are about. I’ve eaten there several times and have never had a bad meal. Yes, its pricey. But its all you can eat. The food has always been fresh when I go in.

Took my wife and two kids out for lunch on Sunday. To start off the price…$ 16 for adult and $ 8 for kids. So I thought $ 50 for my family… kind of high but not a problem it’s going to be good. All I can say is that there was no selection, just fried catfish, shrimp, and wings. THATWASITFOR $ 50. The catfish was old and hard and the wings had so much salt on them that you could not eat them. The waitress came by once and I told her about the food, she told me she would tell the manager. Never heard back. STAYAWAYFROMTHISPLACE.

The catfish is pretty good but probably a little overpriced. Service is good. But then again you are getting your own food. If you you don’t like catfish you are probably in trouble here.

Do you like good seafood with actual variety? Do you like fresh, hot food? Do you like nice, respectful employees? Do you like a restaurant that seems to take pride in their business? Then definitely don’t come here. All of the food tastes like it has come out of the microwave. The majority of the food is fried, sitting in its own grease for hours, and has the texture of a kitchen sponge. Seafood is supposed to be served fresh for a multitude of reasons, and Catfish Cove is just letting their seafood sit out for hours on the buffet. Disgusting and definitely a hazard to your health. I felt sick after my dining experience, which will be my only dining experience at this establishment. I was created with a tired, bored looking staff. My server would rather sit and watch television than help me out with my drinks. I’ve never seen such a careless attitude! I can understand apathy from working in such a place, but sell yourself! When I asked about the paper plates and plastic forks, my server actually rolled their eyes! Disrespectful. This place is far from classy. Yes, the plates and forks are disposable. The atmosphere of the building is similar to a cafeteria at an old folks home. The restaurant isn’t very clean. A trip here is definitely not worth the money. Save yourself the time and go somewhere better. Don’t take a chance and come here, you’ll leave with diarrhea. I promise, you won’t regret it.

GHETTO! Paper plates & plastic silverware. Place was clean, but extremely ghetto. I brought my 16 year old for his birthday(he wanted the all you can eat crab legs.) $ 29 for the buffet with crab legs, $ 15 for the buffet without crab legs. My son stated that the crab legs were ok tasting, but very flimsy and tough to open with just a regular for. They did not have that ‘snap’ when opened. Buffet is served on PAPERPLATES!!! For the price, you would think that they could afford some regular dishes. Silverware is PLASTIC!!! Really? Get a clue! I would not recommend this restaurant based on the ‘ghetto’ atmosphere.

Ok, start about by acknowledging that it is a buffet so you have to manage expectations. They offer a good selection but unfortunately the food was all pretty much luke warm. I was horribly disappointed. The steam tables were at best warm water tables. The price was on the upper level of reasonable if the food had matched. I just struggle with eating that ‘you missed supper and you need to microwave this’ temperature food, even on a buffet.

The food at Catfish Cove is decent, but certainly not delicious. Almost everything is fried and you leave feeling disgustingly greasy. On this particular occasion, however, it wasn’t the food that immediately prompted me write a review, it was the awful service. We decided to try the All You Can Eat Crab special that Catfish Cove offers on Saturday. When we arrived we were told that they had run out of crab. This may seem like a relatively small issue, but when a restaurant runs a special once a week and they run out at 7pm on a Saturday night, it’s an issue. Some customers were told to drive to Moore(half hour drive south) if they didn’t want to pay for the normal buffet. Even after watching customers ahead of us leave frustrated, we decided to go ahead and eat the normal buffet. Once seated, we sat next to a couple and their two children who all paid $ 25.99 for the crab special. They were upset after paying over $ 100 for the special and only receiving one plate of crab between all four people. The waitress then refused to offer any kind of refund or voucher for the special because they had eaten the plate of crab. She proceeded to raise her voice and storm off as the customers decided to just leave after being insulted. I’m not sure that I have ever seen an employee treat a customer so poorly after an issue their restaurant caused. Those customers should have been refunded the difference in the crab special and the regular buffet, and a sincere apology should have followed. Instead, they paid $ 100 for food and left hungry and embarrassed. I won’t be dining at this restaurant ever again and encourage others to do the same.

Food was good, service was HORRIBLE! the only time we were greeted was when we walked in. We didn’t even know who our waitress was. All she did was put the crab legs on the table and left us. We didn’t even get the«unlimited» crab legs because she was too busy playing with a baby that belonged to another party. No one wanted to make wye contact or even asked us if we needed anything. Definitely not coming back to this location.

Pretty decent selection of an all-you-can-eat seafood buffet. Much cleaner and more fresh than what you might find at a chain buffet restaurant. Lots of their foods are fried, but being in the south, I’d say that is a typical fare of homecoming. Feel free to lighten things up at the salad bar, fresh fruit bar, or with the greens on the buffet if you want something on the healthier side. The fish is good, the shrimp was great and I loved the options of condiments and toppings available. The dessert bar could have been more abundant, offering 3 types of cobbler and homemade icecream, but by no means did I leave hungry! The one turn off to me was the styrofoam and plastic ware in lieu of actual dinnerware. If I was at home wanting to avoid dishes or at a picnic, cool. When I am paying for a sit down meal, I completely prefer my plates to be authentic. All being said, I would return.

Saturday buffet only. AYCE crablegs, KINDA pricey per person, and plastic silverware. I really didn’t even bother with the buffet. I only ate the crablegs and some watermelon tea. Tasted like… crablegs and tea. It’s slightly cheaper than the casino, but you don’t win anything and end up very sleepy afterwards trying to justify the price you just paid for the food. I would go back again if someone else was paying.

I always heard about Catfish Cove but I was hesitant to try it because I heard it was a little pricey and bland. I have a good friend that loves the place and her birthday was coming up and she wanted to have her birthday dinner at the cove. So I decided to go and try it out. It was a large place and upon entering I discovered one of the things I heard was true. It was quite pricey. It was 16 dollars for the buffet and it would have been almost 10 dollars more if I wanted crab. There was not a big selection and two of the buffet tables were not being used. I could understand if it was closed because they were slow or about to close but it was 6 on a Saturday. The fish and chicken were pretty good. Not a lot of choices on the salad bar but I thought the salad was alright. Everything else was disgusting. The mac n cheese and greens tasted like they seasoned it, discovered they added way too much salt and then decided to add just a little more to be sure. As far as the service from the staff, horrible. You would think that they would treat all customers great but especially our party since we were spending over 100 dollars there and some of our party were regulars. But the waitstaff constantly ignore our tables and had pretty nasty attitudes. Definitely skip if you are looking for good food and service. Also skip if you have health issues.

GROSS Three words describe my visit to the CatFish Cove on NW Expwy in Okc tonight. GROSSGROSSGROSS. The food is terrible. Of 4 pieces of fish I ate on tonight, 3 of them had a muddy taste after I got past the mound of breading on the fish. You take a bite and you get a mouthful of cornmeal and just enough catfish to get a muddy taste in your mouth. To those people that say the fish id the greatest, or it’s good, or it’s the best they’ve ever had, the only thing I can say is that you’ve never had good fried catfish. This was totally disgusting. The fried green tomatoes were a laugh as well as the fried zucchini. I don’t know what kind of breading batter they used but it should have been thrown out. With the fried jalapeño’s you got more bits of fried b batter than you did jalapeño. Catfish Cove is not a place I would/could recommend to anyone.

Seafood brings two things to mind: 1) Is it going to be fresh? 2) Do I have to dress up to eat at this place? Catfish Cove = a buffet and the majority of the items are fried. The atmosphere = very casual. As mentioned by the last reviewer, they use Styrofoam plates. On Saturdays they serve all you can eat crab legs. If you decide to get that, they’ll give you a colored cup. This cues the server who brings the crab legs out from the kitchen, piping hot. $ 25.95 for the AYCE crab legs + regular buffet option. Reg buffet $ 12.99. I wasn’t too thrilled when I walked in and didn’t want to walk out after talking to the nice hostess. So, we tried it out and left satisfied but a little disappointed. You would think their namesake dish(catfish) would blow your mind, but the two types of catfish offered were sadly lackluster. Well, let me rephrase… I personally did not like the flavors. The fried catfish was cooked well, but I wasn’t digging the cornmeal coating. The baked catfish had a mix of seasonings like a flavor explosion in my mouth. I guess I’m not used to the flavor combination they used. What I did like were the chicken wings, turnip greens, glazed carrots, salad bar(Hello, broccoli cauliflower salad!) and fried shrimp. For the amount I paid verses the variety of the items I enjoyed… I don’t know if it was really worth it. Eh, but most buffets tend to be like that. If you like fried stuffs, this place will be right up your ally.

Big clean buffet with decent food. My grandparents love this place. They go probably 2x a week. I’m not a big buffet person, but i like to make the GP’s happy. There was a big entrée station with fried and baked catfish, fried shrimp, chicken nuggets, etc. They had a sides station with lots of choices. Corn fritters, fried zucchini, mac and cheese. It all looked pretty good. I had the creamed corn and green beans. The corn could have been more… «creamed», but still good. The green beans had chunks of bacon and were delicious! There was a salad bar station with basic salad bar fixin’s, cole slaw, broccoli & cauliflower salad and also some cold peel and eat shrimp. I enjoyed the shrimp and i LOVED the broc/cauliflower salad! It was super tasty. They also had a dessert area with a few different cobblers and what they were calling«homemade ice cream». I tried some from my Papa’s plate and it tasted more like Ice Milk and was kind of grainy. Good flavor tho. The buffet price is 12.99(kinda steep in my opinion, but seafood is not cheap. They have a Sr. discount which the GP’s and their friends love. On Saturdays they have an all you can eat crab dinner, for like$ 24 bucks(i could be a couple of dollars off.) All in all, good eats, big nice place. The only thing i didn’t like was that they used Styrofoam plates. Come on guys… let’s class it up a bit, i’m at a restaurant, not the neighbors backyard fish fry.
