Laredo’s Mexican Restaurant

The food was terrible and bland. Ordered the tacos. So greasy that the hard shell became a soggy floppy mess. Chips came from a bag, salsa and cheese are store bought, tortillas are store bought. My wife ordered the enchiladas and couldn’t finish it because it was too salty and tasted awful. The sour cream chicken enchiladas were neon green and yellow. Do not go here.

Amazing mexican food!!! This will rank in my top 5 ever. Ate there twice in one weekend while in OKC. Queso was free, salsa was actually better the second time. they give you relish (marinated carrots/​onions) which is nice. If you ask for the hot salsa you can put that in the Queso and make it spicier.
Service is great. Our waitress was super woman. The ambiance in this place and everything was just perfect. SO MUCH BETTER THAN TED’S.

While staying at the Hyatt hotel just behind the restaurant, we were told Laredo’s would be opening their doors soon. So, we decided to give it a try. Usually, the first week a restaurant is open, you should expect good things.
The design of the place, décor wise, is amazing. It definitely has a true Mexican feel.
Once seated, we ordered the guacamole to go with the chips and salsa. The chips were good, standard. The queso was not that good. Not sure what type of cheese was used but it wasn’t that tasty.
The salsa was very watery and greesy. Not that good. So, I asked for the spicy salsa. It was chunkier but orange in color as if they added sour cream or something to lighten it and thicken it. By this time, after trying the salsa’s, the waitress came out to make the guacamole in front of us. Pretty typical procedure. However, she added a lot of salt. All of the ingredients came out in pre-​made separate containers. One suggestion would be to have someone from the table taste the guacamole prior to adding that much salt. Everyone at the table thought it was too salty. But decent nonetheless.
The main course was ok. The general consensus was that the food was a bit bland. We all wondered if the spices were decreased to make the food tolerable for all. Unfortunately, it was just ok. Most said they would not return. However, being that it was their first week and they are probably working out the kinks in the process, I would return one more time.
No complaints about the service. We were well taken care of. I do hope they liven up the food otherwise they might lose a lot of business.
