Outside of Wooster Street in New Haven you aren’t going to get a better pizza! We celebrated my dad’s 90th birthday at the house and I picked up 5 pies at Paesan’s for the celebration. Not one slice was left over! Also they still have«Foxon Park» soda which I remember from when I was a kid(which BTW was a LONG time ago!). Absolutely the BEST pizza east of New Haven!

New Haven style pizza! It’s hard to find good pizza once you leave the New Haven area. That’s where my husband grew up and he is really picky! Their pizza was excellent and so was the fried mozzarella we ordered. The online ordering system is awesome. It is so specific and concise. Everything we ordered was great, the delivery was fast, the food fresh and hot, the delivery girl was great and they even have Foxon Park sodas! Brilliant.

Great subs and Tasty pizza, but like another reviewer said, they skimp on ingredients… Granted, it wasn’t expensive, and I would be willing to throw. another buck at it– for more cheese. The other issue is they forgot my sausage on my pizza… I’m hoping it was a mere brain fart and not due to the Whirling Dhirvish style of kitchen management– which by all accounts was one of the most entertaining examples of pizza making I have ever seen. All in all, good… not great… but that’s solely due to the ingredient skimp factor.

Hands down BEST pizza in CT… Love that they give you a free Foxon Park soda to compliment their amazing pizza! Hartford, New Haven(Sorry Pepe’s) and NY have nothing on Paesan’s… You got to give them a try! You’ll be hooked!

I moved to southeast CT from a place where good NY-style pizza is plentiful. Oh, how complacent I was. It took me a few months of scouring, trying soggy, bland pie after pie until finally my prayers were answered by an unassuming establishment called Paesan’s. I’ve ordered out from here 3 – 4 times now and the quality is consistent. I’m a minimalist(cheese pies) so I can’t comment on the toppings but I will say my search is over. It’s slightly thicker than NY-style but it gets the job done, if I were grading it on a curve for the area I’d give it a 5⁄5 but alas, the gods of pizza(New Haven and NYC) must be respected. Oh, last time I was here my order got lost in the shuffle somehow so they gave me a size upgrade at no cost, honestly it wasn’t even that big of a deal(they had another pizza out of the oven in 5 mins) but I appreciate it all the same.

Great potential — stingy on the ingredients … This is one of the only places that delivers in Saybrook; so we call them often. The food is good, prices are high for what you get, but delivery is usually fast and they are very friendly. They are very very stingy on the ingredients, however, and I’m not the type of person who likes tons of stuff piled on top of my pizza oozing off but you have to order extra cheese just to get what I think is an adequate amount of cheese. The grinders are usually bare bones too — minimal veggies and cheese. And, the bread they use for their grinders isn’t very tasty — reminds of the bread at Subway. The crust on their pizza is good and the food always arrives hot — they’ve never mixed up our order or made a mistake. So all in all not a bad delivery place.

It’s become nearly impossible to find even decent pizza along the CT shoreline. I tried this place years ago when it first opened and was unimpressed. Today, I decided to give it another shot, just to see if anything had changed over the years. It’s actually very good pizza. Take-out only. They were doing a hopping business… phone was ringing off the hook and they could hardly keep up. There is one main pizza master kid there who is a work horse. He was actually a lot of fun to watch. While waiting for my pizzas, I quickly realized, without him, this operation ceases to exist. He has it down to a perfect science. The place is very small and blazing hot from the ovens. Not sure how the staff can stand it. I was about to pass out waiting for my pies. Nonetheless, the pizza twirler wasn’t phased, had a smile on his face and just keep producing pie after pie. I’ll be back.

Wow. This pizza was great. We ordered about a half hour before they closed and we’re pleasantly surprised. Their sauce and dough are on par! The sauce has a great amount of oregano, and to me that makes a great sauce.

We had a ShorelinePerks coupon and were looking forward to trying out this pizza place in Old Saybrook. This is a take-out place mostly, but there is a table inside and a few outside(when the weather is warmer!). The photo is helpful because it’s not really easy to see when driving down Boston Post Road. We ordered a large pizza with 3 items. The pizza was $ 17.50 and then $ 1.75 for additional items past the first item. It was very good pizza! The pizza easily would feed 4 hungry people; it truly is LARGE. We also ordered a chef salad($ 4.95) and enjoyed that along with the pizza. I’m sure we’ll go here again. The service was friendly and prompt. We were told it would be ready in 20 minutes, and indeed it was. They offer free delivery to a few towns(I believe Old Saybrook and Westbrook).

Not the best pizza I have ever had, but pretty tasty. I love the crust and it’s crispness. The cheese is melted on perfect and I had extra garlic on mine. Really decent pizza, reasonable prices.

Yummy pizza. Probably the best in the area. And they deliver. New york style pizza is good but also try the Sicilian or Italian bread pizza.

Worst pizza I ever had. The cardboard would have been better. No salt or seasoning whatsoever.

The best pizza in the area. When I call, they know exactly what I want. The chicken parm sub is great too. Tim and his crew are great.

This little hole-in-the-wall place surprisingly makes very good pizza. Their meatball subs aren’t bad either. It’s take-out only but there’s a few picnic tables out front.

Best pizza in Saybrook. Both my boyfriend(now husband) and I used to work at Paesans in high school and this is a must place to eat whenever we are back in town to visit. Tim the owner uses the best cheeses and doesn’t go cheap on the ingredients. The prices are not the cheapest in town, but you will always get a delicious pizza with a generous amount of toppings. Their dough, meatballs, and salads are made fresh daily. Their subs are great and aren’t like Subway’s «meatless» sandwich… you definitely get a sub with a good amount of meat. This is mostly a take out and delivery pizza place with just one table inside to sit at… but go in the summer and there is plenty of picnic style outdoor seating which makes for a great meal while you enjoy the summer weather and sunshine!
