I’ve had amazing experiences, and ones where I’m underwhelmed and confused as to what I’m paying for. On the one hand, the best icy blonde color of my life came from Ashley here. On the other, the same stylist over booking herself so horribly that to get a foil that had always taken me about 90 minutes, gets stretched out into almost 3 hours because she squeezed in 2 haircuts while I sat there with foils on my head, with no heat applied as she always had before. Obviously, she knew and planned on me needing them in for much longer, since she was booking haircuts for while they were in. I’m not necessarily opposed to this kind of behavior, but you really need to let people know when they schedule. But, as I said, great color. Just make sure you have an accurate idea of length of time you’ll be there.

I went here once in July for an early morning appointment. My haircut was fine. Exactly what I asked for, but the customer service wasn’t great. I showed up a right on time and had to wait 10(or 15?) minutes for my hairstylist to arrive. Meanwhile a person walked in off the street and started getting his hair cut(no appointment) before me! When the stylist arrived, she mentioned not being a morning person, but did not apologize for the wait. While I was waiting the other stylists were deep in conversation about their weekend plans and I felt like I was intruding. I was second guessing that I even had an appointment because no one seemed ready or was expecting me. I just sort of felt awkward from the beginning so I didn’t enjoy my experience very much.

I have had several MAGICAL, drastic haircuts from Talia. I never would have thought I’d love a haircut or a hairstylist so much! She is amazing! I’ll probably never be able to get my hair cut by anyone else ever again. I trust her to be creative with loose guidelines, which makes the haircut even more fun because I don’t know for sure what will happen but am so, so happy with it when I leave the salon. I would encourage anyone seeing her to go in with a loose idea and come up with something together, she’s got great intuition and the skills to pull off her vision! Both times I went in with home-ruined hair disasters that I’d been living in shame with, but they were so awkward I couldn’t imagine they were fixable and didn’t have a clear idea of what I wanted, and was sort of resigned to the damaged, bedraggled look. She took time to talk it out with me and look at pictures of possible styles on my phone, and gave me honest recommendations of what would actually work. She seemed to know exactly what I was trying to go for, even though I could barely explain it coherently, she’s a very patient, validating listener, and the hairstyle felt like a design we collaborated on, which made me feel safe making extreme changes. After consulting, she intuitively manifested styles I didn’t even know were possible on my hair. The first haircut, she lifted the bad color I’d done myself in a sort of ombré-painting with bleach, then cut off the damaged parts in a piecey bob, that was perfect for my face shape and the color was right on. I got compliments on it everywhere I went. The second cut was more damaged-hair removal and she gave me the encouragement I needed to give her the go-ahead to chop most of it off. I trusted her to cut it so short because she’d done such a great job with the last one and I wasn’t disappointed, she worked with my face and brought out angles I didn’t know I had. In short, Talia is the best. The salon smells good too.

I’m very disappointed, I had a full foil, and haircut that I actually thought was good. The stylist Talia even curled it for me. I thought it was good, until I realized after straightening it my hair cut was just horrible uneven crooked layers, just these choppy unblended haircut. & she missed so many spots in my hair with the full foil. I had to go get my hair fixed somewhere else that costed me way less than I paid. Definitely, wasn’t going to go back there to have them attempt to fix it. I feel ripped off, paying for my hair to just get messed up. I do not recommend this place…

I got a coupon for this place that offered $ 15 off a facial. I scheduled it and thought I’d be getting a basic one since I’d never done it before and had no idea what to ask. I got the one hour facial and then found out the scheduler put me in for the most expensive one. Yes, it was nice… But not THAT nice. I felt ripped off, which ruined the afterglow of the service.

The worst. I have had my hair cut there twice, once by someone very inexperienced, another time by one of their senior stylists. I cant even begin to describe the many wrongs my hair has endured at that salon. Just don’t.

I went in without an appointment because there was a sign that said walk ins welcome today. I needed a brow wax, and since I just moved here I haven’t found a regular person to go to yet. Everyone who worked there was nice enough and I didn’t feel neglected, however the skill level of the woman who did my eyebrows was questionable at best. Definitely the worst waxing experience I have every had. I said I wanted a little bit of an arch and not thin eyebrows and what I ended up with was two thin, uneven, mismatched, strangely arched lines on my face, with stray hairs missed(somehow even though half my eyebrows are now gone) and wax stuck on my face. I don’t think she was the regular waxer. She didn’t seem to know where anything was in the room and seemed to struggle while doing my eyebrows. The worst part is after the waxing she wiped my eyebrows with a dirty towel(didn’t notice it was dirty till it was right next to my face) because she couldn’t find cotton balls. All and all I kinda feel like 15 minutes just consigned me to waiting 6 months to grow them back out and feel comfortable with my face again… just in time for the holidays.

I had just moved to Olympia and needed a hair stylist, and since it’s hard to miss this place downtown, I decided to try it. I went to Randy, the owner, about 4 times. Every time I saw him he said, «I just don’t have a clue how to style your hair!» What!!! You’re a hairdresser! You own your own salon. And, I don’t have complicated hair. It is slightly wavy, and cut in a layered style. He took almost an hour to give me a trim, which usually took my previous hairdresser 15 – 20 minutes. During that hour, I had to endure his stories about the women in his life, revealing his male chauvinism and egomania. Each visit, after finally completing my trim, he would attempt to dry and style my hair. It was an awful experience and I always wanted to walk back to my car with a bag over my head. It took me a while, but I finally found someone good. I would not recommend Randy to anyone.

Fabulous salon! Just recently remodeled and is very chic and modern. Super friendly staff who know what they are doing when it comes to styling, color & cuts! Right in the heart of downtown Olympia very easy to spot. I drive down from Seattle just to have my hair cut and colored by Randy.

I went into Euphorium hoping that I had finally find a new hair stylist. Mine had decided to go back to school to become a nurse which has left me scrambling trying to find another who can take her place. I purchased a living social or amazon local deal, cannot remember which and headed on in. First thing, the building is ultra cool, it used to be a bank but parking is difficult, at best, to find, and you also have to pay if you cant find a free spot. Once inside I noticed it was already very warm, I was there early in the morning too. No air conditioner just a fan going to swirl around hot air. I sat down and immediately noticed that you are sitting VERY close to other clients, to which you can hear every word out of their mouth to their hairstylist. ON my left I had someone playing videos loudly on their iphone, and to my right I had someone talking about, ahem, pocket pussies. Really. Apparently the client used to work in a porn shop in Diluth Michigan and she was telling her hair stylist all about it. I am not a prude by any means but this isnt what I want to hear about first thing in the morning with a coffee in my hand getting away from my duties as a mom and wanting some relaxation. The hairstylist seemed to encourage it by asking detailed questions so I got to be privy to a conversation about sex toys for about 5 minutes. My hairstylist was super sweet, Lauren. She didnt talk much but was nice and it was nice to just read a magazine instead of engaging in personal banter with someone I just met. Here is the down fall. She colored my hair and it ended up having an orange tint to it. I asked for blonde and I have always worn my hair blond. I dont know why I am so passive aggressive at hair salons. I am assertive in every other manner of my life. Why oh why cant I speak up when my hair is completely f’d up? It is like I lose my voice or something. As the days went by my hair seemed to have an orange AND red tint to and it was horrible. I have had several people comment on it and not in a good way. I dont have a budget to get my hair done every few weeks so I have had to live with it and will finally get it fixed next week. Yes, it is my fault for not going back but what are they going to do to fix it? It would be fried if it was colored again and I just hate going through all of the excuses hair dressers can give as to how it was somehow your fault. I just think I am partially to blame for not speaking up but I sure wish Lauren would have said, «holy — that has some orange tint in it — sorry about that — let me fix it» without me having to say anything. Any please — if you are in a shared salon dont encourage patrons to talk about inappropriate things when you have to sit so close to each other. I know the loud obnoxious iphone videos arent your fault but it sure doesnt lend to a relaxing atmosphere for the rest of your patrons. Anyone know of a good hair stylist that does good color/foils/cuts? sigh.

The salon itself is cool and the people are friendly. However if you have short hair I don’t recommend getting a haircut here. I went here and got my hair done and went home with a hair style I didn’t want. Not to mention that I had stray hairs all over my head.

I have been going to Euphorium for about 18 months now and I LOVE this salon. Lindsay is incredible and always does a fabulous job on my hair, which I frequently change… long to short… brown to blonde. I’ve never had a problem getting in for an appointment when I need one, even if I don’t schedule it super early. The salon also sells AVEDA products which is really convenient… one stop shopping. The ambiance is relaxing, perfect after a long day or week at work, right down to the tea they will bring you if you want it. I definitely would not go anywhere else. I’ve lived in the area for 4+ years and went to several salons before I found this one. Location is great too – right in downtown Olympia. Gives me an excuse to go shopping downtown every couple of months.

Love this place. SO relaxing and everyone is just incredible. I always like going somewhere where everyone knows your name. Be sure to ask for Melissa or Ashley… they are the true shining stars at this salon. I’ve been coming to this salon since opening day. It is a wonderful part of downtown Olympia.

If you have curly hair, then you have probably experienced the post haircut walk of shame back to your car. Chia mullet? Check. A hairstyle that resembled the lead singer of Quiet Riot? Uh-huh. And last but not least, you cannot forget the head o’ Ramen Noodles. Oh, sister girl I feel you. If you like a hairstylist that will be honest, funny, friendly and understands your curls, you have to check Euphorium out. I actually like Erika because not only does she make me laugh the whole time, she has transformed my hair. They are reasonably priced and the décor is really nice. I notice these things because from my experience, you walk in and see marbleized paint splattered counters and posters with 80’s trianlgefros, you are in trouble.

I would rate the quality of the haircut itself at 4 stars and my overall experience — 1 star. The haircut was $ 50 + $ 10 tip(my appointment was with the owner of the salon), so I expected to enjoy my visit. The stylist was running very late(about 45 to an hour), but apologized sincerely, which I appreciated. The assistant washed my hair and I sat there for almost the whole time with wet hair, as the stylist was finishing someone else’s color. The salon looks nice from the outside, but is very messy and kinda shabby inside. Once the stylist was done with the color and sent the client to process, he gave me a lovely haircut, listened closely to what I wanted and I have no complaints about the quality of the cut or the skills of the stylist. While he was finishing my cut, another client walked in, got his hair washed and was waiting for his turn. Rushing to get to the next person, he didn’t dry my hair well(all the while the first client was still there with color in her hair). In most Aveda salons(in my experience, anyway) you get a scalp massage with oils before shampooing. Not here, unless they just plain forgot(being as overextended as they were). Anyway, I’m looking for a new salon.
