Hello Gavin Newsom… Gavin Newsom starts businesses to mark his territory like a dog pisses in grass. I know the name Plumpjack because I am a San Franciscan. I wandered into this store to see what it offered. It had some unique ski apparel. It was very expensive! I was like«oh, I like this shirt. let’s see how much it costs» and it was like $ 150. So I am not interested anymore unless there’s an end of season sale. They should sell something more affordable, so that they will make more sales. Don’t you think that’s a good business model? This shop is at Squaw Valley.

We had reservations at 6:30 last night and our group consisted of two couples and two children(4 and 8) Dinner started off very nice, the ambience of the restaurant was wonderful… UNTIL they sat a group of about 12 people directly next to us. These were 30 and 40 somethings who had obviously been drinking prior to coming to the restaurant. As our dinner went on the noise level just skyrocketed. It wouldn’t have been so bad if the language wasn’t foul and disgusting with F bombs being tossed around like hot potatoes. Somebody from the group obviously noticed that we were getting upset and apologized but it did not stop the group from practically shouting obscenities in the restaurant. The maître d’ had asked the group to keep it down a bit but that did not stop them either and nothing was done by the restaurant staff after that. We have a sneaking suspicion that this group were friends of somebody working at the restaurant because a nice place like this would never let this slide. After paying the bill, we got on our shuttle to go back to the resort and we were joined with a few other people who happened to be at the restaurant also. They didn’t even sit through their dinner because of that obnoxious table and moved to the bar where it was quieter… REALLY??? A patron had to move to the bar section to enjoy a quieter dinner? What’s wrong with this restaurant? All and all, 3 tables moved from the restaurant and our party left there pretty ticked off. Way to NOT intervene Plumpjacks, good going.

Came in while in Tahoe for the Ironman. My husband needed a second hat and well I wanted one too. They had tons on stuff at 50% off! Small store but ended up getting a good deal. We had checked out North Face but they didn’t have any adult hats. So walked around in the rain and found PlumpJacks. Overall happy with our experience.

I’m a HUGE fan of Squaw Valley — HUGE. Aside from skiing I like to shop every now and then. I’ve visited PlumpJack many times and the service is POOR. The sales people are not friendly at ALL. They never smile, they hardly ever say hi and when you ask for help, they seem annoyed. Its such a turn off that I only visit if I really need something — that the other stores don’t carry.

From the outside, it doesn’t stand out amongst all the rest of the expensive clothing store in Olympic Village. But once you step inside, you can tell they carry all the top brands like Kjus, Bogner, Rossignol… etc. It’s definitely not your bargain hunting destination, but wait… it’s the end of snow season, so they were offering 50% off winter outwear, some base layers, and winter boots! Score! It definitely also helps when the customer service was friendly and patient with me taking my time combing through the racks. Bravo! I’ll be back, though maybe not until the end of the season to check out the sales again.

I needed a new outfit in a hurry and PlumpJackSport came to the rescue! I was going to try to find a pair of sweats to get me through the day, but how could I resist the gorgeous deep purplely-pink maxi dress and turquoise sandals? I feel so LA now.

A little on the expensive side but they have a pretty current selection of snow gear. Glove selection could be more extensive but this place offers plenty for a small accessories/ski wear shop. I brought 2 left handed gloves by mistake so I came in here expecting to spend $ 65 for a pair of gloves that I didn’t «love». Luckily the friendly lady that worked their directed me to a great pair of temporary(but very usable) gloves. Obermeyer XL Juniors they fit like a glove and they were brown which surprisingly matched my outfit. Saved me about $ 40! Thanks lovely lady!

The PlumpJackSport is like an upscale boutique. To be honest it reminds me of the Marina in SF where the Balboa Café(in this case the PlumpJack Café) is situated near upscale boutiques(in this case PlumpJackSports). The store is loaded with the stuff you might have forgotten like your cashmere gloves or your ugg boots for trotting around Squaw. If you want to indulge, I spotted Rock and Republic jeans on sale! Super cute jewelry(I don’t recommend wearing them slopes). Of course they have all the winter necessities(warm sweaters, long johns and ski jackets) for men and the kiddies too. Prices range from $ 25 to $ 90. Sales people are friendly despite how packed it is. Sizes are limited so if you see something get it because it might not be there later.
