Put down your American Way magazine because you won’t find the best steakhouses in the back pocket of the seat in front of you. You’ll find them in Omaha and precisely at 13665 California St. Omaha NE. Just had the 8oz Filet with a side of Brussel sprouts and corn. All are second to none. Just one recommendation and that is to have the Brussel sprouts as a regular menu item as opposed to a special. I will admit I am not a food connoisseur but I know what it is like to have a steak melt in your mouth and what quenches the appetite. Both happened at Mahogany.

Too many waiters and some are full of themselves. Too much extensive talk of the menu if you know how to read. Steak is good, plates are extra hot. Like scorching hot. Last time I was there, some waitress made a smart-ass comment about how she warned us so we couldn’t blame her. Not professional. Need more humble servers and less of a menu run down.

Hands down the best steak I’ve ever had. A friend and I split one of the off menu specials, a trio that included a bone in filet, a lobster tail, and shelled king crab legs. The meal was made for two and come pre-divided, so you don’t have to worry about splitting it up yourself. The filet melted in your mouth and the seafood was perfectly cooked also. We also had the bacon wrapped scallop appetizer, which was phenomenal. I can’t say enough good things about this place — the food is incredible and the wait staff is attentive and knowledgeable. I’ll definitely come back on a special occasion for another meal.

My family and I celebrated my promotion here on Friday night. The staff was outstanding accommodating our larger party. Our numbers fluctuated up to the last minute due to some cancellations and adds. The food was simply fabulous. Rob spent the time needed to explain the menu and specials. Everyone was happy with everything that was ordered. If you got a steak, Rob asked to cut through the middle to ensure the steak was cooked perfectly. I ordered the bone-in filet and it was one of the best steaks I had. I will be back. Thank you to the staff at Mahogany.

I’ve eaten here once. It is far to expensive for what you get. Also everything is all last cart. Baked potato cost $ 12.00. Steak came out and it tasted a little funny. Couldn’t place the spice. Steak was OK but far too expensive. Good luck leaving there after a meal with your wife for less than $ 100.00. I didn’t care for the meal. I can get a much better steak for half the cost in a lot of other places in this town. I’m not impressed with stiffly starched uniforms and steak grilled at 900 degrees. Texas Roadhouse is half the cost and 10 times better.

SOGOOD. I love steak, so this place was destined to do well. I had the bone-in filet… I can never look at a regular filet the same way. It was just wonderful. Cooked perfectly, no stupid sauces or toppings. Just excellent meat. My boyfriend had the rack of lamb. It was good, but I think he should have gotten a steak. We also had the au gratin potatoes(really cheesy, but very good) and sautéed mushrooms. The mushrooms were the best I’ve ever had. We had a great wine and some drinks at the bar before. I love dirty martinis and they had great olives, both blue cheese and jalepeno-stuffed. Our waiter was good and I really appreciated the fact that he sort of left us alone. We were able to have a really good conversation and enjoy the food and our waiter just quietly came to check on us without interrupting. It was awesome. I can’t wait to go back!

On Monday I took my wife to Mahogany Prime Steakhouse for a belated Valentine’s Day dinner. We are early eaters, so we arrived at 5:30PM. We were greeted at the door by a friendly hostess, who asked us if we wanted to check our coats. After taking our coats, she showed us to our table and told us that our server would be Lindsey. Shortly after she left, Lindsey brought our menus and introduced herself. She took my drink order, Macallan scotch with 5 ice cubes and that is what I got. We ordered French Onion Au Gratin soup for starters. I must say that it was one of the best, if not the best, French Onion soup that I have had. There were plenty of onions and cheese and there was no bitter taste in the broth. For our main course, we ordered two Filet Mignons, an 8oz for my wife and an 12oz for myself. My wife ordered hers medium well and I ordered mine charred rare(burnt on the outside and rare on the inside) and both were cooked to perfection. In fact, they do a slightly better job than the Drover Steakhouse, which until now I thought was the best in Omaha. Along with the steaks we ordered sides of Salted Jumbo Baked Potato and Sautéed Button Mushrooms. Once again, this was one of the best potatoes I have had.(I’ve uploaded a picture of my dinner.) They have a fairly good wine list, mostly of California varieties, ranging from $ 30.00 to $ 1200.00 per bottle. Since I didn’t see one that I recognized, I asked Lindsey to recommend one and she suggested that we try a 2012 Whitehall Cabernet Sauvignon. It was a fine choice. For desert my wife had a Carrot Cake and I had the Brule Cheese Cake, both were delicious. Lindsey had a helper named Nate who was extremely helpful. Together they made our visit, both enjoyable and memorable. The manager also dropped by to see how things were going. To sum it up, the Mahogany Prime Steakhouse is expensive, but worth every cent and I now consider it the best steakhouse in Omaha. I highly recommend it. We will be returning for our next wedding anniversary.

My wife and I had one of the best Valentines Day meals ever here. Our servers Krista(I think that was her name) and Dan(definitely his name) were impeccable. They took the time to tell us about the menu, describe the specials in a way that made our mouth water, and were not shy to suggest what they thought would make our experience great. I have not had better service from a tandem of servers in my life. They were top notch. We had the Mahogany Trio(Lobster, bone in filet, and king crab) and it was cooked perfectly. Probably in the top 5 steaks I’ve ever had. The seafood was also very good. They even provided a small bowl of melted butter with a candle under to keep it warm, not something you see too much anymore. For desert, both servers were adamant that we get the vanilla bean ice cream paired with a sherry. My wife got it, and they were 100% right.(Dan actually clapped his hands and was genuinely excited that we were trying the new experience.) It was such a different and wonderful desert that we won’t ever forget it. This is my new to to restaurant

Visited from CALIFORNIA a coworker and i were on buisiness for work, and decided to give this place a shot, OUTSTANDING service from the very beginning. Reminded me of ruth cris right away, i felt that being from CA and trying out a new steak house would give me the full review experience, absolutely satisfied with the waiter, got us drinks and bread, explaind the special cuts of meats how they cook it, everything someone should know when never eating there before, my co worker and i both ordered the cowboy cut and 1 side. Delicious and well served portioned perfect, no room for dessert thats for sure but i can say it was the best meal we had in Nebraska. If i go for training next year im going back for sure

True to form steakhouse. Recently dined here for work after not having been here for a couple years. It was a very good meal. We were seated in a booth, and with the tall sides and dark lighting, it felt very intimate. We started with cocktails(I had a very nice ‘Ginger Mule’) and shared a few appetizers. We shared the Crab Cakes and the Bacon Wrapped Scallops, both very good. For the main course, I went all out and had the Cowboy Ribeye. 21 ounces of medium rare, artery clogging goodness! It was prepared perfectly, and seasoned very well. All in all a great steak. As the sides are a la cart, and served family style, we ordered quite a few to share. I sampled the Au Gratin potatoes and the Asparagus, and both were good. All in all, if you you want to experience a true steakhouse, and are willing to pay for it, then this place comes recommended.

Marzia was our server on the first visit to this upper crust place. She was all business to start and got a little more casual as we progressed. Service is such a big part of the high end steak house experience, and she held up her end well. Food was coming out in waves. Lobstercargot… basically lobster tail meat prepared in an escargot dish. Butter and herbs and lobster and cheese are sinful. Italians would walk away from any seafood with cheese, but this works. My filet was perfectly seasoned and ever-so-slightly overcooked from the medium rare order request. It was a really good steak… crusty outside, tender inside. Asparagus with a little boat of hollandaise suace on the side was awesome.

The restaurant was classy, service was great, and we had a really great time there despite some mishaps. One of my coworkers needed to send her steak back twice. Even the last steak was not cooked correctly still, but she’s tired of sending her food back and ate it instead. The restaurant was very apologetic and comped her steak. For the most expensive restaurant in Omaha I was hoping for a better quality control. Maybe they had an off night.

cool surroundings, had a great lobster mac n cheese, prime rib was meh. Omaha might be well known for their beef, but, I have yet to go to a restaurant here where they know how to season it worth a crap. Basically tasteless. Won’t be back here either. Ya feel me?

Now this is a great Omaha steak place! I had there specialty bone in filet and it was simply cooked to perfection. Along with the food, the service was top notch. Definitely the place you want to go to for a fun celebratory dinner out.

I gave this place 5 stars because it really is probably«as good as it gets.» I’m not excited about it because the prices are astronomical. But the good news is, you get what you pay for. No regrets. I got the large cut ribeye along with the onion soup, some seared ahi, steak fries, and I split the mac and cheese side with my wife. It’s a huge pile of food. If you eat your meal, you won’t leave hungry. Actually if you eat your meal, you might not be able to leave the restaurant at all. The steak was excellent. One of the best(probably the best) I’ve ever had. As good as the steak was, the soup was better. That has to be one of the best bowls of French onion soup you can get, period. If I was a frenchman, and I ate Mahogany’s french onion soup, I’d have to sigh, and say, «zut. At least we still have crepes.» I’d go back for the soup alone. I’ll probably get a side of steak, though.

Being a meat-eater and visitor to Omaha, my boyfriend and I wanted to have an Omaha steak dinner from the best and so we took to Unilocal to narrow down our options and figure out where we should go. We were so happy we picked Mahogany! Absolutely everything was divine! I had a wedge salad, filet mignon medium rare, and a jumbo baked potato and being so hot out I wanted a white wine(though I can’t recall the brand). My boyfriend had an old fashioned cocktail, the lobster-argot(think escragot but made from lobster), potatoes au gratin, and the filet mignon medium rare, too. We both were in food-heaven with our meals! I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant and look forward to returning next time I visit Omaha! Additionally, I need to give them credit for allowing us to dine on their patio with our well-behaved dog. It’s normally set up with couches for lounging next to an enormous and dazzling fireplace, but they set up a table for us and told us we were welcome as long as other patrons were ok with our dog. Thank goodness the nicest couple and their granddaughter were the only other patrons on the patio and they were totally fine with our dog. In fact, they commented on how well-behaved he was, better than some children in fact! What a wonderful Omaha experience we will forever cherish and I will most definitely recommend them to anyone I know going to Nebraska! And I look forward to a future visit!

Still one of my favorite restaurants worldwide. The crab legs are TODIE. I am dying thinking about them. I think one of the reasons I choose to drive cross country on occasion is so we can stop in here for dinner.

The coveted 5 star review. I’ve been to 4 or 5 steak houses in Omaha as part of my travels. This one was the best by a healthy margin. The onion soup was excellent. The filet(8oz) was excellent. The sides were excellent(fresh shucked corn, lobster mac & cheese, jumbo baked potato). The dessert(Something Chocolate was the name) was excellent. Water glasses were never empty. Service was timely and not over bearing. Everyone, including some hard to please folks, were very impressed. We will be back the next time were in Omaha.

Mahogany Prime may have been the best meal I’ve ever had. My entire team ordered the bone in filet. Additionally as accompaniments we got the Mac and cheese, potatoes au gratin, and corn(I think). The Mac and cheese and potatoes obviously we’re really good since they stuck out in my head. The steak was amazing. Cutting into it the inside was medium rare(as ordered), however the outside was extremely hot(apparently they use some special french ovens). This allowed for the entire steak to have the juiciest and most delicious taste along with the contrast between the hot outer temperature and interior cool red center. For desert we split the cheese cake and cream brûlée. Both were good as well. The service was outstanding. As soon as we turned there was constantly another server willing to help us with whatever we needed. Jack binions used to be my #1 meal. However mahogany prime has taken that spot over.
