Worst most crusty burnt burger I have ever tried to eat. I thought I would break my teeth trying to eat the sandwich. You’re better off going anywhere else. Spend your money at other places.

For a fast food place, Runza is pretty solid. The food is overpriced, in my opinion, but they are better than many other fast food joints. The prices are comparable to Sonic. I had the Mushroom & Swiss Runza, which was really good, especially when dipped in their house made ranch. The ranch is the highlight of Runza. I tried the French onion sauce and it wasn’t my favorite, but the ranch? Wow. Just wow. I would probably go back to Runza just for the fries and ranch once in a blue moon. That was definitely the highlight for me. This location is nice – very clean, and large dining room.

I always go there for lunch in a pinch, as they get the food to you quickly and it is hot. The best Runza to date.

I came here not expecting much for lunch one day, and wasn’t very impressed. It looks like your average fast food place and has a standard option of burgers and fries. They also have something called a Runza sandwich, which is kind of like a philly cheesesteak without any flavor. I got the Runza sandwich with swiss mushrooms and was deeply disappointed. The fries were alright, not quite«World Famous Fries» worthy. It honestly reminded me a school lunch in terms of flavor. The only difference is that school lunch was $ 1.50 when I was still in high school. The only redeeming part of this place is that they do something called«Temperature Tuesdays», in which the Runza sandwich is the price of the temperature at 6 am in cents. That is, if it’s 25 degrees outside, the sandwich costs 25 cents. The combo ended up being about 4 bucks with the discount, which made me feel a lot better about eating it. I don’t think I’ll ever get the sandwich again. Maybe the burgers are better?

Got the asian chicken salad and onion rings. Pretty pricey fast food meal for mediocre at best fast food. I won’t say it’s terrible but I wouldn’t return for the price of a meh salad.

From a fast food perspective, I am definitely a Runza fan. I don’t eat a lot of fast food in general, but Runza is heads and shoulders above your normal top 3 burger chains. Thier ‘Runza’ sandwich is an original and a favorite of many. We have friends who always want a ‘Runza’ when they come into town. I enjoy their burgers, good sized patties, a little greasy, and will put you in a food coma. This location is fairly ‘upscale’ for a fast food joint on the interior. But basically, your typical fast food joint, with better fast food than the rest.

When you grow up in Nebraska, Runza is just a part of your fast food upbringing — a good part I might add. On a recent visit to this location near 72nd and Pacific, I walked in the door and realized I hadn’t been inside this building since it was a Bronco’s location, oh, a decade+ ago. I have to say Runza spiffed it up real nice. Anyway, I was feeling adventurous and ordered two Southwest Runza sandwiches. The staff was great, as they weren’t currently on the menu at the time, and made them fresh for me anyway. In the end, however, I realized the weird spicy mayo-sauce and tortilla chip crumbles don’t go so well when baked inside a wad of dough. No wonder they weren’t on the menu, ha. Next time I’ll stick with the classic Runza — ground beef, onions, cabbage and spices. It’s a Nebraska classic. And I have to give a quick mention to their stellar crinkle-cut fries and made-to-order burgers. Both are top notch as far as fast food is concerned.

Not a national chain, but a Nebraska brand. Infinitely better that McDonalds or Burger King.

My husband is a born and bred Nebraskan. The first time I met his parents(gulp!) we had a 5.5 hour drive all the way to Omaha for him to fill me in on what his parents were like, what my first Cornhusker game would be like, AND that I would have to have a Runza. Needless to say, all three went perfectly well as all three of those things have substance in my present life. My favorite is the original runza with cheese. It’s flake pastry crust is delicious with the meat, onion and cheese combination. OH! and don’t forget about the FRINGS… that is positively absofrickenlutely genius! Fries or onion rings? Well thanks to the genius’ of Runza, I’ll take both. Bonus point: For the days that greasy fare won’t do; this fast food joint that gives me to option to get soup gets brownie points!

What can I say, a Nebraska original. If you grew up eating Runza or would like to take a stab at eating a unique German-Russian food, stop in. They also have hamburgers, soup and other items on their menu including voted best fries in the city of Omaha.

Runza, for those of you not from Nebraska, is a local obsession for some, just another fast food joint for others. Their Runza sandwiches are essentially ground beef, onions, and cabbage surrounded by home-baked dough. They have a few variations, including one with swiss and mushrooms that is pretty good. Because you can essentially only get them in Nebraska, they have some elusivity, and they really hit the spot at a cold Husker game. Conclusion: If you’re randomly in Omaha, I’d definitely recommend trying one. If you live there, it’s just one of the millions of restaurants in the city.

This is the WORST Runza I have EVER seen! Now, I don’t consider ANY of them to have very palatable food, however all three times I’ve made the mistake of going there, the food is cold, dried out, or full of grease(and on one occasion it was all three!!). Management doesn’t care, nor do the employees. If you complain to Corporate THEYIGNOREYOU. I used to work for First Data and tried the place 3 different times HOPING that it might improve. Alas, such was not the case. The last time I went(at about 12:45 p.m. on a week day) the burger was dried out, cold, and full of grease. It resembled something cooked at 11:30 and left in a pan on the side of the grill. The fries tasted like they were about 2 days old, stale, cold. This was not a January day or anything(which could explain the lack of heat). I had gone there because I had a meeting at 1:00 so I got it to go. I went in, waited 3 minutes for someone to finally come from the back to take my order, 5 more minutes for them to bring the order to me(so I presumed they were actually cooking some of it). With a «Her you go.», they handed the bag to me and walked away. I ran out the door, got to my office in 2 minutes and opened up the bag. The fries were ice cold, stale as can be, and loaded with grease. The burger was not stale but otherwise the same. So, it went into the trash can and I went to the vending machines in my building and got a microwavable burrito for my lunch. I despise McDonald’s but even THEY will make sure stuff they call«food» is hot, relatively fresh, and has minimal amounts of grease. NOTTHISDIVE! I sent a complaint to Runza Corporate specifying my contact info(phone number, name, e-mail address), even the order number from the receipt, and they totally ignored me!!! NOTEVENSOMUCHAS A «UPYOURS, JIM!». SCREWTHISRUNZA!!! DON’T MAKETHEMISTAKE! Two blocks north of there, in the Nebraska Furniture Mart, is a Burger King. FAR better food!
