Stopped in for a bite… once more, Smashburger did a great job at providing a great burger! My wife had a Cobb salad and it was huge! Here’s some updated pics for you!

The workers in the front were very friendly and were all about their burgers! They said I would love it! I was excited for sure. They told me it was definitely going to be less greasy than five guys– which wouldn’t be a bad thing. They were right. My overall meal was less oily however, what was also gone was most of the juices of my meat. I was curious to see if they allowed me to choose the temperature of my meat but was told they make them all medium well. My meat was well done and maybe even past that. The fries did redeem this place. I got the smash fries which was shoestring fries with olive oil and rosemary. I didn’t taste Rosemary on my fries however the cook on the fries were perfect. I enjoyed how crispy each one was! With all this said, the burger was definitely not impressive. I didn’t feel I was eating the best thing but the fries were good. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back to this place but if I had to, I guess I wouldn’t mind getting two large smash fries.

In the past, I’ve always had a pretty good experience with Smashburger, but maybe it was a bad night, or because it was near closing time, but I had the greasiest burger ever last night and the onion straws were worse. I ordered the Sin burger, which had a fried egg, onion straws, cheese, bacon on an egg bun. It was just OK and the onion straws, which were so incredibly greasy, i couldn’t finish them. I will give them another chance, maybe I’ll come earlier in the day next time, however a restaurant’s food should be consistent, regardless of the time of day. However the service was excellent and the server had the cutest southern accent.

The burger was just ok– the best part about it was the bun. The fries are similar to Steak N Shake fries(really small). The atmosphere was good, but the seats in the booths are peeling, and the tiles on the floor are chipped. Friendly and quick service.

One of the best burger and fry joints you will find in Omaha. The burgers are tasty and their unique fries make this place a great place to eat every once in a while.

Not super impressed. The day we went the ice machine was out of service, so the soda was warm. The Bacon Cheeseburger I ordered was good but nothing special. I did like the Smash Fries though. In short if I was in the area and hungry I would consider this place, but I would not go out of my way to go to Smash Burger.

It saddens me to have to give them a 2 but this visit was sooooo much different than the last. We came in to this location about a month ago and had lunch and was blown away with how amazing the food was. This time was a visit for supper and was more than underwhelming. 1st we ordered a malt and got a shake, we had the same burgers as last time but they seemed to be thrown together. My smashed fries were actually a bit bland and greasier than usual. Hope this was an isolated incident.

Came back here to pick up an on-line order of one hamburger and fries. Picked up my food… Only the hamburger. Told the woman at the register and she said that I never ordered fries and called the next person to order. Showed her the receipt, which included fries. She grunted, rolled her eyes and yelled for some fries from the back… I’d say the customer service is extremely lacking, food is good tho.

Good burger Tasty juicy fresh and fast. Very courteous service too. I’d come back. Everyone was pleased with their choice of burger sandwich. The fries were thin and crispy.

Had this for the first time last night and only because a friend was buying. I typically don’t like paying for burgers as if they’re steaks but I wasn’t paying so why not?! First, the atmosphere is typically like a small diner. Drinks are«get it yourself», the table space seems sufficient, and we went around 7pm on a Wednesday. The dining room was actually kind of empty but there were 7 of us, so we enjoyed not having to wait for room. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by their burgers. Not the best thing I’ve ever had but definitely good. I like that there are places that still make a nice, greasy burger. Yes GREASY. Some of us like it that way. I did a «create your own» burger with crimini mushrooms, and Swiss on a egg bun. Our table ordered haystack onion rings, fries and buffalo fries as sides. I decided to top part of my burger with the haystack onion rings. It really was pretty good. The buffalo fries were a bit of a disappointment. I guess my expectation was something more along the lines of Hot Fries. These were barely spicy at all and the 9 year old spice hater seemed to eat them with no complaint. I prefer something a LOT spicier. Lesson learned. Overall it wasn’t horrible. The prices were a bit high from what I noticed as it was approximately $ 15/per person at the end of the night when the bill came. Good, but not sure I’ll return. Just too pricy for burgers that are just«pretty good».

Smashburger is a «safe» bet for burgers. meaning that it’s good, but in my opinion not spectacular. Maybe because I live in San Francisco, one of the meccas of food and I’m spoiled by many gourmet burger options. But I will give it a 4 Star because I’ve to several Smashburgers – this one in Omaha, Denver and Daly City(CA). We had the basic cheeseburger and chicken avocado club with sweet potato fries in Omaha. The great thing about the midwest(Omaha) is that folks are generally more friendly and warm. It felt like a full service restaurant. They brought our food and when we one of the staff noticed that we were low on our beverages, she refilled for us. It would normally be self-serve.

We came here on a Sunday afternoon after church with 4 other friends. We were debating between here and Five Guys, but due to a peanut allergy, we chose SmashBurger(FYI Five Guys cooks their fries in peanut oil). I don’t remember specifics, but I do recall thinking the prices were«above average» when we were ordering. Then when the food arrived, I knew FORSURE they were above average. My Cali Chicken Sandwich as $ 7 and it came with 2 slices of bacon, 1⁄3 of sliced avocado, and chicken pounded so thin that it was more like a bread sandwich… with a side of chicken. I’m not a big gal, but I eat a lot and I could tell right away I was NOT getting full off that sandwich. My husband got a burger and my girls got a hot dog and hamburger. I think it tasted good, but it was hard to see the value there. Altogether I think we spent close to $ 30 for our family which is about $ 10 more than what we would have spent at Five Guys/Chipotle. The difference is we would have been full with Five Guys/Chipotle at $ 20 and we were still hungry after spending $ 30 here. Very likely won’t be back… So in summary. Service — 4.5 stars, they were friendly and quick! Food– 3 Tasted right about average Value– 0 Smashburger, I had such high hopes for you. There was so much to be desired when we left… so much… (Single tear falls down cheek, curtain closes)

I’d hear good things about this place and since I had to do a late night run to the World of Wally(Walmart) just up the street, we went there. I would like to note they have late hours during the week and by late I mean until 10pm. The three of us walked in about 830pm, there were still people in the booths and tables but not overly busy. This is the first place, aside from Super Duper Burgers in SFO, where a fried egg is offered on the menu! They also offer guacamole as a topping. Trust me, I was tempted to add it to mine. Jason ordered the Sin City burger which is an off menu item. That is a burger with a fried egg, bacon, cheese, onions and something else. I think I stopped listening to what was on it at some point. I wanted that too. I got a side of sweet potato fries and an order of fried pickles for the table. The burger was very nice! The egg was a little over cooked, there was no creamy yolk to break over the burger. The onion strings were cute in theory but in application, they ending up pulling free of the burger and slapping you in the chin when you bite the burger. I found the burger to be a little dry, I like a sauce-y sandwich. The pickles were on the salty side. I still think Chili’s has the best fried pickles. The tables shared a salted caramel shake. $ 4.70 gets you about 12 oz. Rather on the small size for the money but how much shake does a person really need? Over all I would go back and try it again. Perhaps all the hype heightened my initial expectation but I would give it another chance.

Smashburger is my absolute favorite burger place! It is as good as it gets. Everything I have had there was wonderful. My favorite though is the BBQ, Bacon, Cheddar. I went on my honeymoon to the Dominican Republic, good food; however, the beef does not compare to our Nebraska corn fed cows. The first place my husband and I ate at, the next day we came back from our honeymoon, was Smashburger because we needed some real meat. I am always happy going in and always happy when leaving.

Not bad. Not great. Sweet Potato fries were not hot… not really warm either. Waitress(whatever she was) was really all that friendly either.

My favorite burger place! This place is awesome for gourmet burgers without paying the price. I always get there avocado chicken club which is a great alternative if you’re big on red meat. And, I have to say their classic Smashburger is delicious even for a person not big in burgers. My husband and I come here usually right when it opens at 10 am to grab lunch. This last time we went it was very desolate. The floor had just been mopped, switch I thought was odd because I would assume that they would have done it when they closed down the night before. When we got up to the register, there was a bucket of empty beer bottles with some trash mixed into the bunch. Another odd realization if the left it out over night(???). My husband got the Sin-City burger off of their«secret» menu. NO complaints about the food, it was as tasty as ever. Completely bursting with flavor. We also had fries and an Oreo hand-spun shake, yum yum! While we were eating, the lady working the counter emptied out the tea dispenser. Yet again something i think should have been done the night before. That was my only complaint. Other than that, everything else was great. Bathrooms were clean as well :)

I love this place… I ordered the Sin City burger, which for a total egg slut like me was a real treat… it had grilled onions, a fried egg, cheese and some fancy pants sauce of theirs… Combined with a very soft bun I was in heaven… I also ordered a side of Smashfries… very good, but I prefer onion rings… As a treat to myself I made a wise decision and ordered for dessert a pb&j shake… it involved Haagen Daaz vanilla ice cream, Nutter Butter cookies and strawberry syrup… When the guy said it used syrup instead of jam, I thought I was in for a huge disappointment… then I tried this whipped cream topped awesomeness… One of the best things I’ve put into my mouth recently… Price wise I was happy since I feel I got my money’s worth and the people here seem to be very nice and friendly… I’ll totally come back again…

One of the best burger chains in the city. Had the opportunity to do a tasting menu of multiple burgers, sides and shakes. Run Down: Classic Smash — American cheese, smash sauce, ketchup, lettuce, pickles and onion on an egg bun — meat is well seasoned and juicy/tasty. Good flavors. A basic burger, but very good. One of my favorites. BBQ, Bacon and Cheddar Burger — Cranberry BBQ Sauce, applewood smoked bacon, cheddar cheese and haystack onion(small onion rings) on an egg bun — absolutely delicious. My favorite of the entire bunch. Great flavor. Truffle Mushroom Swiss Burger — Truffle mayo, sautéed crimini mushrooms and aged swiss cheese on an egg bun. –good, but the truffle flavor and smell may throw some diners off a little. Still good, but more middle of the pack for me. Regional Burger — «The Husker» — Only available in our region. Burger on an egg bun with haystack onions, cheese and A1 sauce. — Okay, but my least favorite burger of the night. Think the A1 sauce overpowers the burger and the other ingredients. Avocado Ranch Black Bean Burger — fresh avocado, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato and ranch on a multi grain bun — okay, I don’t think it looks very appetizing when it comes out, the bean patty just does not look good and the one I had was extremely gummy. Simply did not like this at all. Spinach, Cucumber & Goat Cheese Chicken — all these ingredients along with tomato and onion on a multi grain bun with balsamic vinaigrette. — chicken is outstanding. Great seasoning and very juicy. Good sandwich. Goat cheese is a bit strong and I would prefer just a little less of it on the sandwich, but others will love this sandwich. Avocado Club Sandwich — includes applewood smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato, ranch dressing and mayo on a multi grain bun — Absolutely delicious. Great club sandwich. Also one of my favorites. Also had several sides: Shoestring Fries — Great flavor. Crispy with an herb seasoning served with a zesty sauce on the side. Very good. Really like these. Haystack Onion Rings — small thinly cut onion rings. Also very tasty. Comes with zesty sauce as well. Tried three different shakes — vanilla, salted caramel, and oreo cookie. Made from Haagen Dazs ice cream. Also outstanding. There is also a secret menu you can order from. You of course will not see it on the menu board, but you can order the following: Peanut Butter and Jelly Shake Fried Pickle Chips and the Sin City Burger — comes with fried egg and bacon along with the other fixings. A great visit and we were very satisfied with the food. Oh and the salads are huge… huge…and only cost 5.99.

I love Smashburger. IMO one of the best ‘fast-food’ burgers around. This location was great. My wife and I had to kill some time while we got her phone fixed and we decided to stop in for lunch as we haven’t experienced Smashburger in quite some time. The staff was very nice and the restaurant was very clean. The pop machine wasn’t completely set up for the day yet,(we went right when they opened), so the manager gave us a couple free pops while they took a minute to put on the nozzles, which we didn’t mind, it took them only a minute to do it. The prices are a little high but for the quality and quantity of the food, its well worth it. I got the Truffle Mushroom Swiss burger that has a touch of truffle oil, mushrooms, and Swiss cheese and it was amazing. The burger was cooked to perfection and was juicy, also just a tad greasy. The toppings were nice and hot as well. The smashfries were spun in olive oil, garlic, and rosemary, they tasted and looked gourmet and they were great. This experience makes me miss our Council Bluffs Smashburger even more. But even though its all the way on 72nd street in Omaha, I can see myself coming over to grab a great burger and some gourmet fries.
