Everything here is amazing… I just ate the best montechristo sandwich I ever had in my life, pretty bartenders pour heavy. Sorta divey, but still real nice, they have a patio. Don’t miss it!

Update: There is karaōke on Friday and Saturday night and it is absolutely horrible. Avoid at all costs. Sun — Thurs nights are still great.

I have to agree with Lili H. I would call this one a 3.5. My buddy felt like lunch and a cocktail today. He was buying so we slid on over to the Capri. It’s a dive bar in Orange with what appears to be a very regular crowd. The waitress/bartender was on the salty hard side, but had a good sense of humor. The bar itself looks tired and in need of some love. I probably would not come back but for the shockingly good club sandwich they served up with a fresh salad and a side plate of piping hot fries. I might just have to swing back for a burger one day soon.

Capri is about as divey of a dive bar that you can get. The crowd is almost entirely 40+ and locals. The new bar tenders are wonderful, and the drinks are super cheap and VERY strong, which keeps me coming back. It’s a great place to catch up with friends during the week because the place is empty and quiet, and pool is only $.50

Cheap drinks. Well-priced food. Plenty of seating and space. I went there on a Saturday night. There were a lot of people there, but only one server for the entire place. The server was also the bartender. Hopefully, it’s not always short staffed.

I can’t review this place, just offering an observation. I used to go here when the sign was different and said CAFECAPRI. It was a restaurant, very tasty, but not a bar. The son of the owner was always working, he was the ex-boyfriend of my friend’s wife’s sister(got that?!) and her whole family was a bunch of sickos! The only good thing they did was tell us about the place. On Sundays there was an all you can eat brunch of Italian food and salad, and boy was it good. We went there a lot. That must have been 19 or 20 years ago, how time flies. They much have sold out. I always hoped they were still around so I could get back there and enjoy that brunch!

They should change the name to the Crappy. Fruit flies abound and will end up in your drink. Drunks abound and will fly off of the handle and argue about their tab at 8am on a Saturday as you attempt to eat their lousy breakfast. The local drunks are DEEP at the bar first thing in the morning and like to throw hard looks. Must still think they are tough at 65 and full of liquid courage. Don’t hurt yourself, pops. Avoid at all costs.

Great service, prices and the burgers are the best in town.

I used to go to the Capri a lot but after not having been in a while because I was out of town for work I find the place has changed a lot. It somehow turned into just another dive used to be very clean and service was great. Not anymore unfortunately. I think management has changed or rather there seems to be no more management. New bartenders that aren’t very attentive and seem friendly only to their regulars. didn’t try the food this time, used to be very good, but didn’t want to take a chance as everything looked quite dirty and neglected. I wasn’t offered a menu anyways so no idea what they are serving these days and not interested in finding out. Drink prices are still cheap so I may stop by again but it’s just not the same

Taco Tuesdays for the prime rib tacos. DELICIOUS! Available soft or crunchy, I highly suggest getting them crunchy. They offer other foods as well, though I go for the tacos. Be warned though, it is a dive bar and it’s a «good ol’ boys» club.

More like a 3.5 I was kinda intrigued about this place since I always pass by it when going to Trader Joes, CVS etc… When we walked in all the Café Capri’s customer kinda stare at us, seems like they all know each other which goes pretty well with the divey kinda run-down ambiance. Regardless how«local» I’m to this place, seems like I stood out like a sore thumb(a yellow one mind you) We proceed to ask for the beers on tab and the bartendress, who was kinda rude to us… anyway we got our beers and the regulars went back to their business. No more staring =) Then we ordered some fried mozzarella and dumplings, which were ok, nothing spectacular but good ROI I don’t want to jump into conclusions, nor wear out my welcome over there since Café Capri seems like a good hang out and you never know when you gonna need hairs of the same dog to feel well again(aka bloody mary)… BUT After the not so friendly bartendress saw me taking pictures, and saw the Unilocal sticker that I stuck by mistake on my phone’s case, her demeanor changed completely. Something like Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde… You get the idea. Maybe I’m mistaking, and all the fellow Unilocalers that commented on the tips section. I don’t know… Recommended if you like places like Cheers =)

Stopped in for lunch and it was Taco Tuesday. Three Tacos, rice, beans for about $ 8. Tacos were made with Prime Rib and were very tasty. I love this bar.

We were looking for a place to eat on Christmas Day before the movies. We knew it would be a challenge to find something open and with gluten free options but ventured out anyway. We tried the Marie Calendar’s on Katella(they were open) but they only had a special menu for the day and all of the options had some sort of gluten product involved so we left. The Capri Bar and Grill across the street was open so we checked it out. It is more of a bar than a grill but a lady customer said that as long as our 11 year old didn’t sit at the bar, we would be fine. We looked at the menu and ordered shrimp cocktail for the kid, grilled chicken sandwich(with no bread and no seasonings) with fruit, slices of avocado and tomato for me and fajitas for my husband. My son and I are gluten free and my husband tries to be as gluten free as possible. The shrimp cocktail my son had was very fresh, my dish was bland but clean with some great fruit and my husband really liked his and said the rice was delicious. The drinks were strong, the service was good and the place was clean. The clientele were mostly regulars(and older) and we could tell that things would get a lot more colorful and interesting as the day progressed into night. It would not be a regular choice for me to take my son after maybe 2pm and without my husband but would go maybe to meet people or hang out and play pool with friends.

Nice place, smaller pitchers than usual and no PBR, and karaōke but it’s still a cool little joint. The bartender was super awesome, even though she insisted that it wasn’t a dive bar. Friendly people, a couple familiar faces, and flowing booze made it a good night for all.

I’m not sure how I end up saying yes to going to random dive bars on a Friday night, but this is where it landed me recently. The crowd is well over the age of 55+(at least on this night) I am pretty sure I was the youngest one there. Karaōke was sung by some rather endearing well tuned patrons. Strong drinks were served and good laughs were had. I ordered a Italian sandwich that was fresh and yummy. Not sure that I will ever be back, but there are definitely worse places to hang out.

Came in on the 4th of July so of course it was dead. To be honest the streets of Orange were rolled up tightly. Danny the bartendress suggested Schmirnoff, soda, cranberry on ice. Strong! I’ll call it a Danny sipper. No gulping this down. Danny the bartendress was friendly and good with conversation. Now I’ve been here before and every dive bar has their regulars. As soon as this drunk guy started talking to me on the patio, I remembered his story and didn’t want to hear it again. I excused myself and went back to the bar. As I sat there I remembered why I don’t come more often. It’s a real good olé boy’s club kinda bar. I personally just don’t feel all that comfortable. A guy next to me got the steak dinner and it smelled fantastic. It was priced right at 9or 10 bucks. I’ve eaten here before, its better than the fried fan fare you get at most bars. I should fit in nicely here at 52 yrs old, but I don’t. Maybe its me. The drinks are a good bargain if you like a heavy handed bartender. But there are too many other places to check out to be hanging here.

What El S. said. How did I not know about this place? Especially when I was on my quest for the perfect Monte Cristo? This one is really good! Fries and onion rings are fabulous. Super crunchy and not greasy. It is divey, but clean. Service was great. Figures I found it the week we moved out of Orange.

as dive bars go, you could do a lot worse. decent bar food and a mean bloody mary that cleared my foggy sunday morning brain. happy to see the smokers have been moved outdoors. even if they just stand by the open door and blow the smoke back in. sigh.

Bukowski would love this place. He would have loved it more when you could smoke inside but the po-po recently rolled through on their bikes and handed out tickets to all the smokers and ended an era at one of the last smoke-filled bars in California in one fell swoop. So it goes. Lee, the owner, is an affable fellow. A knowledgable talker with an impressive array of opinions who is prone to quoting F. Scott Fitzgerald. He’s just one of a few characters at this place. The bartenders are great. And extremely heavy handed. Which I like. However, the food is the real reason i come here. It’s by far the best bar food in town. By far.
