Came here twice in three days… once after a client meeting and second time had to bring hubby back because he’d been craving Mex shrimp cocktail for a few weeks now. This was the perfect place to take him. Both time, service was very friendly and attentive. So far, we have had: — Shrimp taco — Fried shrimp; tasty but lots of batter on shrimp; fried stuff is always tasty — Molcajete — Basically the campechana but with aguachile(raw shrimp) and topped with a giant raw oyster; delicious, eat with crackers or the tostadas — Shrimp cocktail — Very generous service with a crapload of shrimp and avo. — Camarones Culichi — Super decadent; I wish I had soft corn tortillas to eat with this.(Why is it green, btw?) — Aguachile — Probably my favorite thing here. Best version I’ve had. And I’ve had a few. — Michelada — Super refreshing; got mine with Modelo Couple other things: — Sodas come in cans(so obviously, no refills for you guzzlers out there) — Tip in cash only — They literally only have 25 things on the menu including dessert; it’s picture-heavy and quite clearly shows all the items they serve. — If you’re looking to get chicken tacos or whatever, this is not the place for you. — If you’re bringing a friend who’s looking to get chicken tacos while you chow down on seafood, this is not the place to bring him/her. I know they have rice because it came with the culichis but I don’t know if they even serve beans. Enjoy!

Amazing! Best seafood in Orange County! We arrived during the lunch hour rush. The place was packed but that didnt prevent the staff from giving us excellent service. Quick and efficient. We ordered micheladas, molcajete, and fish tacos. All were so fresh and delicious. Well priced seafood. Definitely will return.

The prices are decent and the food was real good. During work hours the place is somewhat packed but its during the weekend when the place is packed.

By far the best Marlin tacos and Michelada I’ve ever had. Their Molcajete is really good. It has a little bit of everything. The wait is a pain if you’re there on a busy day. But the food is worth it and doesn’t disappoint. I love coming here for seafood. The service can be a little better since the waitresses don’t really check up on the tables much. Which sucks. But the food is bomb

This is a solid place to get your mariscos craving satisfied. Menu is super simple and easy. Food came out quick and was fresh. Staff was very friendly. We had the ceviche, and tostada with octopus and shrimp. Also had a Marlin taco which was ok. It’s filled with smoked Marlin. I would say they should do without the melted cheese. Cheese and fish never go to well. The fish taco was better.

I got to say when it comes to GOOD Mexican seafood this place is a must! I have been coming here with my little family before they expanded the restaurant. We feel at home the waitresses know us by now and the owner is always up for a good convo. My usual order: Taco de Marlin. love the flavor smokey and cheesy with hot sauce. Casuelita i think. that’s the name. But omg, it was delish! mix of seafood with lime juice. add a michelada and you are good to go!

I love this place the food is always on point and the service is always fast and friendly 4 stars because it is a little on the expensive side for a whole in the wall place.

I visit Mexico every year and this is as good as it gets. Everything here is delicious. My favorite is the mocajete. It comes with all the seafood, agua chili and oysters. It’s definitely homemade. It’s definitely fresh. Pair it with a beer and you may just feel like you are on the beach in Mexico.

So i’ve called a few times, I speak both English AND Spanish.(I AMMEXICAN) Every time i call and say 1 – 2 words in English, they automatically hang up. Yes, i understand this IS a mariscos place, but instead of being assholes and hanging up on customers that have a simple question maybe you should learn some common courtesy and pay mind to the people that matter!

I was born and raised in Mazatlán, Sinaloa. My sweet husband knowing how much I miss mexican food, and in particular seafood(mariscos); brought me to this restaurant. It was the best! I had a fish tostada and a marlin taco, I felt not only in Mexico but in my hometown! I can garantee this place is owned by a sinaloense and the menu is 100% authentic Sinaloa food. They don’t have a very vast menu but it is enough to have a great meal and feel the taste of Sinaloa. I would suggest they add as beverage the famous ‘agua de horchata’.

First off I have to admit that I am a seafood snob. I have very high standards for aguachile and for seafood in general. Their shrimp tacos AND tacos de Marlin are SOSOSOGOOD! Their Aguachiles(camaron, Callo y mixed) are very good BUT I only like it after I prepare it with salt, green Habanero sauce, Tapatio & two extra Aguachile sauces. Also, I like the veggies cut into fourths, and I always order extra. My parents are regulars and we have started ordering Aguachiles de Callo y Camaron«Estilo Chuy y Ellie» !

Not bad… Fair prices. The people that work here are super sweet. The Marlin fish tacos were good, except for the Marlin itself; it tasted like it came straight out of a can into the taco. I love ceviche and good ceviche needs a few things: fresh ingredients, a good ratio of those ingredients, and the protein to be partly raw cooked by the citric acid of the lime. The shrimp in the ceviche here definitely was overcooked over the fire. As a result, the shrimp was tough to chew and the ceviche lacked that oh-so-wonderful delicate bite.

$ 10CREDITCARDMINIMUM! We got the shrimp ceviche tostada, marlin tacos and shrimp tacos. All were delicious, though my companion thought the marlin taco was a lil funky/mushy. Shrimp ceviche was delicious and they give you a big stack of plain tostadas because yours will inevitably get soggy. The shrimp tacos come with a soft tortilla and the marlin tacos are in a(seemingly) freshly made hard shell. They have a ton of hot sauces too, which is always appreciated for my spice addiction. I was in and out for lunch in about 30 minutes and the ladies working there were very friendly. Although there are definitely cheaper options,($ 17 for 4 tacos and the ceviche), I would definitely return if I was feenin for some mariscos!

We headed here for dinner before a concert at the Honda Center(about 10 min away) for some cheap and good Sinaloa-regional Mexican food. We split a few items: * CAMPECHANA(mixed cocktail of shrimp, octopus, abalone and oysters) with avocado, lime and plenty of tostada shells and crackers on the side. It’s enough for one person, but better shared so you can try something else. This was pretty good, but I liked the campechana at Tacos Baja Ensenada in East LA more. * TACODEMARLIN — I recommend getting their signature smoked marlin taco. * TACODECAMARON — This was not the best shrimp taco I’ve had. Skip the concession stands at the Honda Center and come here instead! Located in a strip mall with lots of free parking.

I totally hyped it up in my head based on the high reviews here… The food is subpar. Better to hit up elsewhere for fish tacos and ceviche. Our fish tacos were dry and slaw on the taco was mediocre at best. Our other order was the campechana coctel with octopus, shrimp, abalone, and oyster, which was better than the tacos but kinda bland. I had to add in much more lime. The octopus and abalone were tender but where the heck were the oysters?! They were no where to be found. Btw, we weren’t even offered salsa and chips… Won’t be back. Also, if you follow the address here, it takes you to their back door and you’ll have to walk around to get to the entrance. Luckily, it wasn’t raining today!

A popular mariscos location, but overrated if you ask me, a mile north of Chapman University. Solid but somewhat limited mariscos menu. Service can be frustrating and a bit of an issue. It is painstakingly slow and inattentive. Their signature marlin fish taco($ 3.20) is worth trying. The meat has a taste and texture similar to tuna but sweeter and slightly stronger flavor. Unquestionably the best item on their menu that includes shrimp taco($ 2.50), fish taco($ 2.50), in addition to other traditional mariscos items like seafood tostadas, shrimp cocktails and ceviche. The marlin taco is piled on a pan-fried thickly shelled tortilla — along with crema, shredded cabbage and salsa fresca — then folded in half. A novelty item(since it is not located in a seaport city) for sure but well worth the $ 3.20. Both the fish and shrimp tacos are tasty but nothing too special. They almost seem like an afterthought to me. People generally come here for the marlin taco. Those foolishly hoping to find a non-seafood item do not have many options. The chicken nuggets are a joke — $ 4.99 for probably store bought(and previously frozen) nuggets along with fries. Service, as I mentioned, is a real turn-off. While certainly not at all contentious, they are unapologetic for making its customers wait. This seems to be an constant issue whether you come at a busy time or not. I cannot jump on the bandwagon of fans here. Not understanding the love affair people have with this place. Aside from the marlin tacos, there are better spots for mariscos.

I was looking for a new fish tacos place close to home that wouldn’t break my bank but still had some authentic goodness. When I walked in I noticed I was the only Gabacho in the whole place so I thought this must be a good sign. Get a cold beer as soon as you can cuz the AC here sucks. They have the standard Mexican fare and domestics for $ 2(HH) plus or make it a michelada for a couple bucks more so worth it! I wasn’t sure what to get because all the pictures on Unilocal look pretty good and everybody seemed so happy sitting around with their food. So I shot for a few things that I normally like when I’m in Mexico. FOOD: Shrimp Cocktail …
The shrimp cocktail was pretty pedestrian and had an overly celery salt taste for my liking. That was until I spiced it up with a couple of the different hot sauces until I found the right combo. It was loaded with quite a few medium-size shrimp, avocado, tomato, onion, celery, and cilantro. They also bring you a big plate full of crackers and tortillas to eat it with. Shrimp Ceviche Tostada … The ceviche tostada was pretty damn tasty and one that I would order again. Loaded with tons of shrimp, a little fake crab, fish, avacado and veggies this was a tasty seasoned tostada. Fish Tacos … My favorite treat of the night was the fish tacos. I ordered two but the waitress brought me three and said they made a mistake and that I got a free one. Hell yeah I love a freebie deal! They were breaded just right and came with the right amount of cabbage, pico de gallo and cream sauce. Pick a salsa and chow down my friend. These are delicious. Also I really like the fact that there were easily a half a dozen seafood specialized hot sauces to try with your food. And many more that’ll surely put a smile on your lips and some heat on your tongue. SERVICE&STUFF: The girls working here kick ass they constantly check up on you to make sure everything’s cool. The floor is a little dirty, bathrooms are funky but who cares the food rocks. And I ain’t eating off the floor or in the bathroom. Prices are respectable and the portions generous. You know I’ll be back!

CEVICHE — YESSSSS I did so much research to find a good ceviche place that wouldn’t throw me under the bus. Drove all the way here for that and it was worth it. FRESH, i. e I was worried about the food being fishy, not the case this night. — Fish/pescado ceviche $ 2.70 — SO great, fresh, just the right amount of spicy + acidity. — - Shrimp/octopus ceviche(they come with the tostada) $ 4.50 — large serving, shrimp was rightly cooked, not overdone, octopus was soft, not chewy. That’s what i wanted! octopus is such a tricky protein. It was not well seasoned, bland. But they come with plenty of limes and tapatio if you like. I personally mixed the ceviche de pescado and this one and it was great. — - — Molcajete $ 13 — i bought these to go, and it was a big container full of raw and cooked shrimp, octopus, one oyster, abalone, and aguachile. It was great and so healthy. All dishes came with gorgeous, unbruised avocado slices. Comes with the wrapped tostadas so they dont get soggy, a baggie of limes and plenty of tapatio. Cheap, fresh, healthy! definitely need to come back for the infamous marlin taco. Service extremely friendly and fast. I see why they are among the best ceviches in the OC(many articles name them, that’s how i found it) Parking easy, it’s within a parking lot. Closing times on Saturday was 9pm, not as listed on Unilocal. So call the same day to check. Bueno provecho indeed

I’m sure you’ve been in that situation where your significant other suggests a spot she found on Unilocal. The problem is when you’ve never heard of this place and walk in the door with skepticism. However, my skepticism was put to ease when we opened the door and Marisco Mocorito was packed to the brim. The restaurants name speaks for itself, and your in for a seafood treat. We went with the following food order: — Shrimp Ceviche tostada — Fish Tacos — Marlin Tacos The Ceviche was absolutely divine, perfectly seasoned with lime and salt. Paired with the plethora of hot sauces laced on the table you can add that extra kick. The fish tacos were equally amazing as the ceviches, battered and golden fried piece of fish topped with cabbage, cream, and pico de gallo. Add a squeeze of lime and you balance off the entire taco. The winner for me was the Marlin Taco, it came out toasted to a perfect crisp with melted cheese, succulent pieces of marlin, sautéed onions and bell peppers topped with the house salsa. I’m telling you guys, that first bite of the Marlin taco was an epiphany. Never have I had a taco that had so many different textures and bursts of flavor. The Marlin is cooked perfectly and not dry, and the other components just make it perfect. I’m interested in trying the octopus ceviche the next time around and the shrimp taco.
