Kept seeing this donut shop on the shops that open late night on my Unilocal app and finally decided to check it out! There are three different DK donuts and they are not a franchise as well as owned by different owners I believe. Any who don’t forget to check-in to get a free blueberry or red velvet cake donut! There weren’t any red velvet donut tonight so I got the blueberry one. I like how there are some donut creations such as samoa, matcha with strawberry jelly inside, Nutella with banana crème, crème brûlée, etc. They also have the donut + ice cream creation if you feeling sugary. I got the Nutella with strawberry jelly, samoa, and the rocky road. Taste test verdict? For 3 donuts it was $ 6.75 + free blueberry donut. Blueberry cake donut: nice sugary glaze crust on the outside and a fluffy interior on the inside. It was a pretty decent blueberry donut I must say. Nutella with strawberry filling donut: whoa! holy moly strawberry jelly. The donut felt kind of heavy because the amount of strawberry jelly was filled inside. The strawberry jelly definitely over powered the Nutella. Rocky road donut: looks better than it taste, it’s a chocolate glazed donut with some melted marshmallow and crushed peanuts on top. The donut itself was meh, it was very empty on the side like the donut wasn’t fluffy as a glazed donut should be. The marshmallow topping didn’t do much nor did the peanuts to make it rocky road. Samoa donut: it’s a cake based donut, fluffy on the inside, dipped with chocolate on the bottom, sprinkle of shredded coconut and caramel drizzle on top. Another decent donut and a good amount of sweetness throughout. Overall, a decent donut shop to try out especially if you are craving some donuts in the middle of the night or early in the morning since they are open 24⁄7. Also, I know not to expect too much if you come any time later in the day since donuts are usual more fresh in the morning or whenever there is a new batch.

Picked up several dozen to share at work. The lines were fast moving, and the staff friendly. It was a little hard to relay exactly which donuts I wanted as the only opening is where you pay and all the donuts are lined up by the windows. The staff showed me the pointing method followed by a hand signal with how many of each I wanted. It worked quite well. The reason for the 4 stars, is that I will have to go back and try more donuts! The blueberry was VERYGOOD, sweet with a slight crunch. I just want to have a chance to try more to ensure consistency(also, who does not love an excuse to eat more donuts). Will be back soon! Also, don’t forget cash– this place is cash only. 2 dozen mixed donuts and 1 dozen donut holes ran around $ 19 and change.

Bring cash, as that is all they take. Every year during our trip down to Orange County for Blizzcon, we stop at DK’s and get a nice variety of donuts for our slightly overweight, sweaty nerd friends. The people working behind the counter are always very helpful, they have a fantastic selection of standard donuts, as well as a couple more unique selections. My personal favorite donut of all time is the old fashions chocolate, or glazed, and they have tons of them. The bacon«cronut» is also another solid choice. It’s a great little shop, with friendly staff, and a good selection.

I just realized we hit two dessert spots tonight. The Crêpe Coop in Tustin and now donnnnnuts! Yes! Another donut shop featuring these highly induced hyperglycemic goodness. Nick H. called ahead of time to make sure they had enough smores donut when we arrived so that we wont have to arm wrestle for it. Woo hoo! They had enough. Nick got lucky. Hahaha I am by no means a chocolate addict except I do like nutella and cookies n cream flavors n mocha. The smores he swears by but were a tad bit too sweet for me. Umm but course they are, they’re donuts Chel! Duh. I get it. This brings me to why I sincerely prefer maple bacon donuts over anything else except Krispy Kreme s OG glaze:) Maple bacon donuts gives me that harmonious best of both worlds-sweet&salty. However, DKs maple bacon did not compare to Friendly Donuts down the blvd in the city if Orange. Specifically for maple bacon. Not even VooDoo in Portland satisfied me. Yeah. Reeeeeeally. But their crème brûlée caught my eye and definitely got my palate hooked. Dough was soft, custard filling inside oozes at each bite, with the perfect hard crusted glazed on top that gave me the right amount of sweetness at each little lick. Yes. Order this one! #thankful #for # Unilocalers #who#knows#sweet# cravings

OMG! This place is so amazing! Drove down from Hermosa Beach and stopped by on the way to South Coast Plaza. Came here around 1pm on a rainy Sunday and there was no line! Easy to find a parking spot. Make sure to check in at this place and get a free donut :) I got myself a maple donut and free red velvet cake donut and it was super yummy. I love Randy’s maple donut but I think this place won the donut battle! Don’t forget this place only takes cash!

Came here per suggestion of a friend. I came here wanting to try the cronut, unfortunately they only had one type left when I get there at 10PM. I ended up getting the crème brûlée cronut that was filled with cream. I wasn’t really a fan. The melted sugar on the top made it hard so it was meh. The cream did compliment the sugar well. What I ended up doing was ate the top part so I can enjoy the bottom part. I am a fan and definitely want to go back and try some fresh cronuts and different kinds! I believe it was about 3 dollars with tax for it. Also, by checking in i was able to get a free red velvet cake(aka donut) which tasted like a normal donut that was SLIGHTLY red velvet? Regardless, it was free and tasty thus thumbs up! The place itself is small with no real inside. Its a place you can grab and go or hang around outside. So I suggest going there on a warm summer night and chilling outside or take it togo and hang out with friends. I am a fan that it is like always open thus giving me a variety of when I want to go in. Definitely want to go back and try the other donuts! Will be back!

Believe the hype! Off on a MLK adventure we found ourselves stopping in for a donut! Or a few… I’m sure the selection changes often but if you’re a PBJ fan do your belly a favor! And grab. Cold milk to wash it down! The Samoa was my fave… The layer of chocolate on the bottom mixed with the ooey gooey goodness and toasted coconut was just what I was craving! The little miss let me steal a bite of her red velvet and I traded the mister for a bite of his s’mores donut. All were excellent! But PBJ may have won me over. I’ll be back when in the neighborhood!

Just got back from my first visit to DK’s. The donuts were good, but nothing special. I had the donut holes, berry crunch, red velvet(free with check-in), and crème brûlée.($ 4.20 total — CASHONLY!) Of the four, the crème brûlée stood out the most, and I’d hope so since it’s considered«gourmet.» The most interesting part of the donut is that it has that caramelized crunch, like the real dessert. My one complaint is that the shop didn’t have all the flavors available. In my opinion, if it’s on the menu, it should be available, until they run out. It kind of doesn’t make sense to have a «permanent» menu board for donuts if they’re only going to have certain ones depending on the day. The service was good. There was a line when we got there, but the employees work quickly. Chances are you’re only waiting because people take a while to decide what they want. Overall, it’s a regular donut shop; it’s somewhere between good and okay. I think I would come back, but only to try more of the gourmet donuts.

first and foremost, cash only. i made it all the way to dk’s parking lot to have a moment of realization and thought«oh, i wonder if this place is cash only»… thank goodness b of a is just down the street from dk’s. i ended up taking home a nutella crenut(yum, i thought this«cronut» tastes more like croissant than does donut), fruity pebbles donut(ummm by the time i ate it the following day the pebbles were stale), red velvet(free with check in, this one was pretty good). i think the donuts would probably be better if they were purchased fresh(in the morning) and consumed the same day. i had waited a day before trying the donuts and they were already starting to show signs of aging and staleness. other than that, will definitely revisit! the donuts are presentable and great as treat to bring to any occasion.

My coworker who lives in Orange has been raving about Dk’s to me forever now. Then my friend tells me this place is bomb too with their donuts so I had to make my way here. I came through on a Saturday night but didn’t have cash so I had to get something else. The next morning I gathered up my dinero from my piggy bank and made my way to get some bomb donuts. The place opens 24⁄7 and is family owned. They have a really nice welcoming attitude that just makes it a great experience to start your day. I picked up a few donuts for me and the fams. I really really love their innovative and creative ideas for donuts. You can tell they really believe in their product. Im not really a fan of cronuts but damn they got some of the best ones here. I love their strawberry filled donuts too. I’m not sure which is better, them or Donut man but they are closer to me so I will frequent here more often. The texture is nice, super soft with the right amount of flavor. Needless to say I’m quite a fan of this shop. I can’t believe I wasn’t getting these when I was going to school in Orange. Overall, the best donut shop in Orange hands down. The donuts are fresh and the service is astronomically amazing. The parking can suck since it is a small complex but both times I’ve gone it wasn’t bad at all probably due to their super duper fast service. I was very happy with my donuts, particularly the strawberry filled ones. I’m definitely coming back.

Every time I try to write a review for DK’s Donuts, I feel like I have to put down the laptop right away and go get a donut. The pictures are enticing, and my memories of their delicious creations are all too vivid for me to continue typing. I truly believe that the only way I will finish writing a review is if I do it with a donut in hand. They keep up with the trends, and they constantly surprise me with their creations. My family favorite is actually the custard filled donut. My dad ate two in a row, and he normally doesn’t like sweets. I personally enjoy anything, but I love anything with a bit of fresh fruit(cresnut with strawberries!) or some maple. Their red velvet donuts are delicious as well! That’s my limit. I did it. I finished this review. Time to reward myself! :D Thank goodness it’s open 24 hours!

A really creative mix of donuts. My favorites were the blueberry(I preferred these to the famous M&M, which are delicious in their own right) and the PB&J donut. A jelly donut with peanut butter frosting, how awesome is that? And the young lady that provided the service was very sweet and helpful. My friend was like, «what’s your favorite donut?» and she responded with the shaved coconut donut(see pics from other folks). His response, «oh I fucking hate cocount.» Then don’t ask, dick. She was very good natured about it though. Great donut shop, I’d get fatter here any day of the week. Cheers!

$ 4.95 for half a dozen, $ 6.95 for a dozen; with add-ons(by $ 0.25−1.25 depending) if you’re grabbing cake donuts or cressnuts(their version of cronuts). Each donut pricing is tacked on nicely though so don’t worry about clarity. Even their workers are nice to assist and answer questions quickly. Too bad I don’t come at the time where they got their mass selection and assortments I keep looking through on Unilocal from green tea to classic maple bacons In search for their variety flavors I die looking at on hithaaa~

I’ve been a customer of DK’s Donuts of Orange since 2007 and have always been a fan! The donuts are fresh, fun, and absolutely delicious! The cronuts are soo good and not the least bit greasy. I love the whip and custard fillings they put into their donuts as well. They also recently added ice cream/donut sandwiches to their menu. Make sure you do a Unilocal check-in, there’s always a free donut offer! My favorites are: Oreo Bar M&M donut Blueberry donut And Strawberry Nutella

Well I can only give it 4 stars because I didn’t have the Cronut/Creanuts? I forgot the other word D: Got myself Nutella with banana donut and PB. I loved the frosting type inside the banana donut. Banana frosting? Making sure the donut won’t be dry, even if it is, you still have the wet liquid to supplement that in there. Peanut butter– the whipped cream in the middle killed it for me. Red velvet(FREE with check in) was dry and way too sweet. Not a fan. I will need to come back for their cronuts. They ran out of Smores. Nooooo. I hear you can call in and place orders though, so maybe one day I’ll do that. if I want to eat 2 baker’s dozens of donuts, of course :3 Cash only. Close to Spatel, if you want to hit two birds with one stone like I did.

After reading so many good reviews, I was actually quite disappointed by their specialty donuts. The more common ones I tried were the blueberry and red velvet, which were both good, and of the more interesting flavored donuts, I tried the Samoa, apple pie, matcha green tea, and snickers. Apple pie was okay, but extremely messy and sticky! I had a hard time eating that one. I liked the Samoa and snickers, but the Samoa didn’t quite taste like a Samoa. Yummy, but it didn’t live up to its name. The biggest disappointment for me was the matcha green tea donut :(I didn’t taste an ounce of the matcha green tea. Pretty much tasted like a regular donut. Such a shame. California Donuts’ green tea donut is so much better! Perhaps I will go back again one day to try other donuts, like the cronut. But for now. Not a go-to place for donuts. Oh, don’t forget: cash only and check into Unilocal for a free red velvet!
