What a perfect find for a Paleo-friendly breakfast in the O.C. Two sunny-side up eggs, bbq beef, fruit, and they subbed the toast out for some tomato slices. Happy happy girl. The façade is completely kitschy, and I love that about Johnny Rebs. It looks like a cross between an amusement park ride you’d find at Knott’s Berry Farm and a po-dunk House of Blues. I think it’s great. Hospitality is warm, friendly, and happy. «Are you happy? I’m happy if you’re happy!» I don’t think I’d come here for lunch or dinner, but for a casual breakfast, don’t let the low star rating deter you! I’m in all the way! Parking is plentiful. Asphalt could use some paving. Be careful you don’t fall into the cavernous cracks!

2 words, BACONPANCAKES… Not to mention the other great breakfast options. I have also been in for lunch and dinner, the BBQ is on point and the beverage selection is great. The staff is what makes this place excellent; Ry, Greg, and Dago are always genuinely welcoming at the door, making you truly feel like family.

LEGIT! My son went to North Carolina State in Raleigh and this place is a true taste of the south. The great — pulled pork, hush puppies(light and fluffy) — ask for maple syrup instead of the honey, French toast(again lighter than you would think), Mac and cheese to die for and chicken and waffles were amazing. Oh and the best key lime pie — not overly tart like many key lime pies with a very light texture. Things to probably pass on were the chicken fried streak(why can’t it come out with a nice crust like the fried chicken!?) and blackened cat fish(fish was clean tasting but not enough blackened seasoning and more like sautéed than hot — pan fried to give it that nice blackened crust). I have had better for sure. Prices more than fair an service fun and attentive. Jen Z was especially awesome — patient with us and very efficient. Friendly and had great suggestions.

My family lives close to this spot so we come here a lot! We decided to come here for Father’s Day and were not disappointed. We made reservations in advance. Although we showed up before our reservation time we were promptly seated. The restaurant was very busy for Father’s Day, but all the staff were very attentive and in good spirits. I split the whole order of baby back ribs with my cousin, and we chose sweet potato fries and Mac n cheese for our fixin’s. The ribs were great as usual. I also enjoyed the sides. My dad and uncle ordered the prime rib Father’s Day special. They were extremely silent the entire time they ate, which is always a good sign! Great experience, we will definitely be back!

My family and I love this place. The management and staff really try to make your dining experience an experience. We like the atmosphere of throwing peanuts on the floor lol If you are looking for some good BBQ then be sure to check this place out.

Quite possibly one of the worst run food establishments in Orange. If you’re not a regular customer, be prepared to wait and wait. Customers were told that there’s a wait. No specific wait time was given, but there were 3 booths and 5 tables available. There was a couple after us and they were told about the wait as well. A group of ten bikers walked in and they were informed of the wait until one of them walked up and said, «it’s me». They were all sat down in front of us. The hostess made an excuse. She didn’t say that that had reservations, she just made up an excuse. I wasn’t happy about it and we left, as did the party that came in after us. As we were walking out, the hostess made a rude comment. If you refuse to sit new customers as they come in, then you’re probably going to have a tough time staying in business. We also noticed that they took the peanuts off the table as well. It worked out well. We found a great food establishment in the circle that was happy to see us. Good luck with your establishment. :-)

Great place for Breakfast. Place wasn’t too crowded so parking was plentiful. I enjoyed beignets(sp) and and chicken fried steak with eggs for breakfast. The food was very delicious and I never saw the bottom of my coffee cup. Our server, Hannah, was on point– very friendly and helpful, but not lurking the table. Johnny Rebs’ is a great spot for a Southern Style breakfast.

BEWARE!!! Food– good(couple things not so good) Service– excellent PARKING– horrible******** This visit cost me a $ 500 deductible seeing either their valet or customer smashed into my car. Did I mention there was nothing they could do about it, nor did they try to even offer a gift card or anything for the inconvenience. Overall, I liked the place but won’t be going back unless someone else drives or I catch a cab. Even then, it’s been such a traumatic event to where I probably just won’t go back period.

Visited this fine establishment the other day. What a great spot to happen upon, off the beaten path in Orange County! Kayla was a wonderful, smiling asset to the restaurant! She makes a mean Mojito! The friendly service and great food will keep us coming back to visit! It’s nice to go to a homey restaurant once in awhile that isn’t so pretentious. Felt like visiting my mom. Give it a try!

The service was lacking. I felt like I was annoying him when I asked questions or asked for something. I got the Carolina combo. 2 meats… I got chicken which was actually good. The brisket was dried. The mash potatoes tasted alright. The collard greens were not good. The fried pickles that we got for free for checking in were different. I definitely have had better. My unsweetened tea was good. I ended up taking more than half to go.

My go to BBQ place in Southern California. Service is always great, food is amazing, and they are very dog friendly. Staff is very friendly and the manager does a great job at running the place and ensuring everything goes smoothly. They have an amazing brunch menu and of course their lunch and dinner menu is phenomenal. Definitely an easy choice over Lucilles or Wood Ranch in my opinion.

This place has amazing service. Arrived at 530p on a Thursday evening. The décor was very cool, from the pvc pipe gardens hanging outside the patio, to the fountain near the front entrance. The serve free peanuts here! Eat as much as you’d like, and just peel/crack them on the floor. They’ll clean it up later for you! I ordered the catfish. This is seriously to die for. Crispy, and delicious. They give you lemon and tarter to go with it(optional of course). 9⁄10 My sides were the mac & cheese(everyone gets this, so I followed suit). Definitely didn’t disappoint. 9⁄10 for this as well Biscuit … Fluffy and good. Not sure what the other choices were but I for sure liked it. No need to rate a biscuit though haha. I’ll be back! They had this sign up that said if you order something on April 19th, you can come back anytime during the 3 weeks and get the exact same thing for free!!! Omg what a freaking good deal! Oh yeah, I found today that no one here is named Johnny, so no point in telling the hostess that you know a «Johnny» lol

I love this place. You drive up and the place looks old and run down, but that adds to the atmosphere. The interior looks old. There are cool antique kitchen items on the wall. They also serve peanuts, and you can toss the shells on the floor. This review is for two visits. My first time I had the chicken fried steak with mac. and cheese. I also ordered a full order of fried pickles. The plate of pickles was huge. They were fried with a corn meal batter and served with a side of ranch for dipping. As a kid I didn’t care much for chicken fried steak but now it’s a favorite. I got the double order since I was hungry. This was to die for. I would definitely order it again. Its to bad they don’t serve one giant piece that cover the plate like places in the Mid West do. The mac and cheese had lots of flavor and tons of cheese but could have been a bit creamier. Yesterday I ordered the beef ribs with mac and cheese. I used the Unilocal check in for a free ½ order of pickles. The half order of pickles was plentiful. The mac and cheese still could have been creamier but was delicious. The beef ribs were so tender. The meat just fell off the bone. The sauce was awesome. Next time I will ask for easy sauce since they use far to much for my taste. I had to ask for extra napkins since they only give you one. BBQ joints need to give more napkins when patrons order ribs. They don’t even give a wet towel to use after eating. you have to take extra time to use the restroom to wash up. The only thing that wasn’t good was the cornbread. It had no flavor at all. I didn’t even get butter. There is honey on the table, but they should actually but honey in the batter when they are prepared. I don’t get to this part of town often, but really should. I want to try all the yummy items on the menu minus the cornbread. i
