Went to this place about six months ago because of the Unilocal reviews. Wow, I was really surprised by the lack of taste, not to mention the overall appearance of the taco salad(pork). The salsa as well as the cilantro dressing were like colored water, not appealing in the least. The greens looked & tasted as if the salad had been sitting on the counter for hours, and the pork had no flavor. The only plus was the exceptionally fast drive through! My recommendation: Try anywhere else. This place is disappointing & not worth your time.

Great food. Not so great service. If you think you can order a salad at the drive-thru window and have salad dressing guess again. ONSEVERAL occasions in the past year we have had this happen. What is more irritating is the snotty attitude when I have to park(or drive back) and go inside for the salad dressing. Here is a tip: check the bag before you leave!!!

This Miguel’s is the best! The dining area is always clean and well kept. The employees are always out making sure the dining room and exterior is clean. The food is always good! Try the taquitos they are great! The chicken tacos are great to! the salsa is great! the service has always been fast. Even when they are busy. I would recommend this place to everyone!!!

Seriously some of the most over-priced, bland Mexican food I’ve ever had. Ordered a steak quesadilla with extra steak, knowing it wouldn’t have much, and received it, with two slices not even having steak in it. Awful.

A decent little family owned Mexican food joint. I came here on 1÷11÷16 and had lunch here. I had 2 shredded beef tacos, bean rice and cheese burrito. The tacos were very greasy but decent(kinda lacked flavor), the bean rice and cheese burrito was decent too. With tax and a small Coke the total was $ 10.86. Overall if you’re hungry you probably could find something decent to eat here. The restaurant was very clean and the staff is very friendly.

Save money and go to del taco, I order 2 carne asada tacos, the meat was not flavorful at all and was warm definitely not hot, obviously not just made, very disappointed, I will never go back to this place again, the rice and beans were just average as well

Mediocre at best. I ordered the Carne Asada Garbage burrito(I don’t know why anyone would name a dish that name). The single burrito cost a little over $ 9 for what tasted like a Dell taco burrito with just a ton more refried beans. I don’t know why the drive-through is always packed here. I expected more from a restaurant that’s supposedly«homemade.» Places like this remind me of some other US states where the food is terrible. This place makes Orange look bad. I watched them build this restaurant and it looked nice. I actually wish Green Tomato Grill would take over this location so there could be a drive thru for that place.(Located just steps away). Now THAT restaurant has real homemade food.

So Glad Mjr is in the O.C. Now. When I have that craving for a really great Bean and Cheese burrito I know it’s just off the freeway. This location is new and clean. The people in the drive-through were very friendly. I got my food quickly. I will be back. Twy

The team at Miguel’s Jr. is great. Food is terrific. Salsa Bar as good as any you will ever find. Restaurant is very clean. Service is tremendous. Ken, the Regional Manager ensures that his team delivers an exceptional experience every time. Thank you for making our trips to Miguel’s a highlight of our dining every week. GREATJOB! Ted

The day came, I finally had an awesome carne asada taco from here. Steak wasn’t dry at all, could have been chopped into smaller pieces but that’s just my preference, so I can do that on my own. So good. I hope next time it’s exactly the same!

I really wanted to like this place more but the food id just ok. The portions are not relative to the price and the service is hit and miss…

I’ve been here a couple time because I was trying to figure out what the hype was about… but I can’t understand it… the place is not that good. The«World Famous Salsa» tastes like water down tomato sauce. My 13 year old son refuses to go there anymore because he thinks it is a «Yelp 1 star.» I gave it a 2 stars because the beef taco is OK and so are the taquitos. They ARE generous with the cheese, so I will give them that. Otherwise, there’s just so much better out there.

So this is my second visit. First clue, if it sucked the first time chances are they will continue to suck. Ding, Ding, Ding! Guess what… still sucks! Ordered the original carne asada burrito, no flavor lots of filler. Where’s the beef! Beans taste like rosarita. This truly is for the white folks that don’t know any better. Sorry kids never again. If I want Mexican food I have much better choices…

Home style Mexican food, hell no. Driving by and decided to try out this spot, got home and burrito was filled with beans and little meat. Nacho cheese was rock hard, didn’t even bother to finish it.

Had the garbage burrito. No beans and with shredded beef. Overall, it was average. Nothing that special. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great. Probably won’t return because Troys in Orange is so much better. Friendly service and really clean space. It’s a big restaurant. There is also a drive through. Locations are popping up in Orange County.

This place is odd because it is Mexican but doesn’t taste like a Mexican place or American place, or even a hybrid of the two. It’s just good on it’s own merit. Ask for recommendations when you get in. The food here is great but I think somewhat pricy for combos, so getting individual burritos or tacos is the way to go.

I may be biased, because I grew up in Corona, where Miguel’s Jr was served on high school campuses for lunch. I have had more BRCs than I care to admit… but man are they tasty. Over the years I’ve tried different Mexican establishments, but I still get a craving for good old Miguel’s Jr. now and again. I’m glad that they are expanding into the OC now so I don’t have to wait so long between fixes. I usually get the Miguel’s Jr. Original burrito with shredded chicken, which I love. They also have great nachos. The food is very filling so one burrito or an order of nachos is plenty. I’m also addicted to their hot sauce. Service is always good and I’ve never had a bad experience at any location in all the years I’ve been eating here. They are always friendly and usually very cheerful(unless they’re really busy, but they are never rude). Sometimes the drive thru is a little slow, but there’s usually a line and they are making everything fresh so it’s understandable. I’m very aware that it’s Americanized Mexican food, but I like it, and I’m an Americanized Mexican so who am I to complain?

One of the core values that Miguel’s Junior espouses on their website is core value #2: «Deliver the freshest, best tasting California Mexican food.» I will give them this: the tacos and burrito that I ordered the other day here were certainly very fresh and the carne asada was of very good quality. But that’s where the positives stop in terms of the food. As far as taste goes, clearly, they haven’t sampled enough of the hole-in-the-wall places that are close to this establishment. In terms of taste and flavor, Miguel’s Jr misses the mark, by a wide margin. The carne asada tacos and chicken tacos that I ordered were okay, but they didn’t have the flavor that I’ve become accustomed to from other places. I was also shocked to find out they only had lemons here and no limes. Huh? How can you call yourself«home style» Mexican food and not offer limes to go with one’s tacos? Nearly every other place that serves tacos on Tustin Avenue serves limes with their tacos. I asked another employee just in case there may have been some misunderstanding; nope, they didn’t have any limes only lemons. Initially, I gave this place two stars because I was so underwhelmed by the food here, but in all fairness, I did get great service and a smile, and the staff here was attentive to my needs and my questions. So to me this place overall is a 3 stars, just«A-OK» in my book. Miguel’s Jr is very Americanized Mexican food that attempts to cater more to the general public, so along that vein they have succeeded, judging from some of the 5 star reviews this place has gotten. If you’re looking for food that has more flavor and more authenticity, there are plenty of other places where you can find that. There isn’t enough here for me to want to come back. I like my eateries to have more options to the kinds of meat I want to eat, I want more flavor, better tasting salsas, and I want limes to ago along with my tacos. I’m going to stick to my favorite mom-and-pop shops that are closer(and better-tasting) to my home.

Miguel’s Jr. offers Mexican food that is somewhere between a fast food restaurant and a full service restaurant. While that is not the kind of food everyone wants or expects from a place like this, to me it is totally awesome. I wish there was a location closer to where I live. The Beans, Rice, and Cheese(BRC) burritos are impossible to beat. They have a unique flavor in all the Mexican fast food places out there and one of the few things I get a specific craving for from time to time. While that’s usually all I ever order, the enchiladas are also great. In fact, you can’t really go wrong with much on the menu.
