This is some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever eaten. We are visiting from out of town and couldn’t find a place that was open on Sunday. We kind of came across this by chance. Tacos and salsa was honestly rival gourmet Mexican meals I’ve had at expensive restaurants. This is a legitimate Mexican restaurant. Be prepared for pictures of the Virgin Mary, soccer games televised in Spanish, and broken English at the register. I love that employment and think it adds character to the restaurant. If you like authentic Mexican food, this is the place to go!

Update: 8 months later and we come here at least every other week. Every burrito is amazing! Even the kid’s quesadilla is absolutely delicious(and filling!). We love this place. It isn’t a 5 star restaurant where everything is fancy and super clean, but it is super delicious and authentic and we will keep coming back for more! ******* Super delicious! We got the spicy chicken burrito and the beef enchilada combo. The girl at the register was so nice and helpful. Portion sizes are just right. The salsa bar could use a little improvement. We will be back!

Fairly good tacos and rice. They did manage to screw up my order by not including the beans I also ordered. Not bad, not good.

Yum! I love authentic Mexican food. We will definitely be back. The salsa bar is well stocked and the salsas were delicious. We plan on trying Taco Tuesday(or Taco Wednesday) in the near future.

Something’s amiss with my tortilla. It’s not perfectly round, nor is it perfectly flat. It’s appearance is odd … like a human tried to shape it by hand. I was concerned about it, but it’s buried in meat. I’ll just add some salsa to get rid of any hand germs(salsa is a sanitizer!) … and … … oh … oh my … Ain’t nothing wrong with that tortilla. And the meat is good(I tried several of them). And the service went well. And the aquas were good. Definitely recommended.

Hubby is happy. They have Pozole here. He was served a bowl big enough to feed a small family. He said it’s really good. Asada tacos are excellent and the salsa bar is one of the best around. Very authentic Mexican food. Service is very good and prices are reasonable.

I absolutely love this place! You can get a lot of amazing food for a really good price. The meat, from what I’ve experienced, is always fresh. Like most traditional Mexican resturants around here, you can only get Menudo and Pozole on the weekends. The restaurant may look very simple and small but the food is great. If you don’t know what to order, I would go with a variety of Sopes.

I’m from California and this is authentic as it gets here in utah. Everything is good. Atmosphere reminds me of home. It feels good to be a Gringo again. I’ll be back daily.

The food here is extremely affordable and seems very authentic. However, I wasn’t overly impressed with my selections. The tacos I got were very bland, even after adding a bunch of stuff from the side bar. The Utah burrito is a meat lovers dream but not my favorite. The chile relleno platter showed promise, but I thought it had too much cheese and the breading used was more grease than anything else. The bean and cheese burrito on the other hand was perfection, although it’s simple it was well done and I’d definitely travel across town for the $ 2.99 price of a full size burrito. The server was very helpful; she took the time to explain to me what all the tacos were. The restaurant was a little dirty, but not dirty enough to keep me from trying it again sometime. While I wasn’t in love with the food I definitely want to give this place another try because everyone else that was there ordered the Menudo so I think this is probably the dish to try.

I think they have the best breakfast burritos in town and I have tried most of them. Try it with their creamy green salsa. Heaven in a tortilla. Service has always been really good.

«Hot damn!» –Me That’s the first part of the review, and I’ve only eaten chips and salsa and drank a bit of agua de piña. More after I attack this gorgeous tamale they just dropped on my table. «Mmmm. Mmm. ¡Aye, Dios Mio! Mmmmmm.» –Me, half-way through said tamale, which I’ve garnished with fresh chopped lettuce, a tomatillo salsa that burns just right with bright jalapeños, some crema, and a bit of pickled carrot and onion. I’m close to crying for joy. Not since I munched on freshly prepared«comida de casa» whilst toiling as a missionary have I tasted food like this. In Utah? Are you kidding me! ¡Olé! I just ran back to the little hole in the wall from whence this luxurious, velvety, they-must-put-crack-in-this-grub proceedeth and attempted to express my gratitude in broken Spanish. Now I’m listening to the happy cook brag to her husband about how much people love her cooking. There’s brilliant art hanging on the walls, and some happy Norteña musica wafting from the kitchen, blending perfectly with the smells, tastes, and ambiance. Turning to the tacos al pastor. The tortillas are hand made and double stacked! And they sell the tortillas! … Weeping for joy … Diving into second. … Can’t stop, won’t stop, Rockafella Records, we, we get down baby, we get down … … Licking plate … Noting my irrepressible euphoria, the smiling cook brings me a steaming cup of some kind of cinnamony, chocolatey, Merry Christmas-in-a-cupy joy to sip on as I bask in warm, fat-faced, contented afterglow. I’ll be back. Folks, let’s keep this place alive. So worthy.

Amazing. The best food I’ve eaten in salt lake. I would’ve taken a picture of my spicy chicken burrito but I ate it so fast! The homemade tortilla was my favorite. The peppers were what made it spicy, not artificial seasoning. It wasn’t greasy and I loved the cheese. Everything melde d so amazingly together. I admit I’m not really a fan of Mexican but this place was incredible! My husband ordered chimichonga and pozole, incredible, authentic, real food and real flavors. My picky son loved quesadilla. The painting on the wall deserve mentioning. Great place!

I’m lover of tacos. This place was awesome. Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s tacos are 99 cents. They’re small but totally worth it! They double the tortillas to fill you up more. I’ll be back for sure.

Excellent affordable Mexican food. I’ve been here a few times, and I’m definitely a fan. Their 99 cent taco Tuesdays and Wednesdays are quite a deal! Every taco I’ve had is solid. There are plenty of delicious salsas to add to the flavor and spiciness of the food. On my last visit, I had the chicken fajitas burrito, and it was great! The chicken was well-cooked, there was a perfect amount of cheese, and the generous portion of bell peppers in the burrito was quite a surprise. I’m used to big burritos being full of fillers like rice and overloaded with cheese. None of that with this burrito! As a nice plus, they have the best kind of chips out there. It’s hard not to just keep eating them and fill up before the entrée even arrives.

Love their tacos! They are 99 cents each on Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s! I especially like their juices and chicken/asada tacos! They give you free chips and salsa so that’s always a plus too.

Loved the asada burrito. So much meat, so much salsa, so much burrito. Go here and order one of their $ 5 burritos and take some home for breakfast. Try their little salsa bar, enjoy their chips, speak a little Spanish(or pretend, like I do), imagine yourself being able to down the entire burrito, find yourself actually finishing the entire burrito, pretend you’re not overly full or in need of someone to drive you home, rinse and repeat. Good place. I’ll be back.

A decent place for tacos. Tuesdays and Wednesdays they’ve got 99 cent tacos which were pretty good. Five will fill ya up. The chips and salsa was meh in flavors but came with the order so can’t complaint about that. The salad bar seemed pretty fresh in the couple times we’ve been here. Nothing too impressive about the food or the service but all in all affordable for a quick bite. 3.5÷5
