Mad Dog Cycles

The folks at this Mad Dog have consistently gone above and beyond to keep my bike on the road. Multiple times I have gone there with a flat tire or other minor problem, and they slipped me into their busy schedule, getting me back on my ride within 30 minutes. They also have done an excellent job on bigger tune-​ups, with prompt turn-​around times and quality work.
My bike is older, and I put about 75 miles a week on it, but Mad Dog keeps me going strong.

Mad Dog is the only place I shop. I have bought Superfly Trek mountain bike, and three road bikes. I have had nothing but good things to say. They have been friendly and know there stuff. When I’ve taken my bike in for service it comes back better than expected.

Tried them out for the first time. Dropped my bike off for repair last week. Was told it would be done on Tuesday. It’s now Thursday, so with no word form them I called. Got a girl, who tried to help me, After about 10 minutes of trying to find my bike, or any information about it all she had to say was «I don’t know anything, I am just a sales person. We will call you when it’s done.» There was no offer to get someone who might know what’s going on. I still have no idea when my bike will be done.
I have no confidence in this shop.

Mad Dog is the best around. You’ve got a really big shop which means you get your repairs faster and their knowledgeable employees will make sure you get hooked up.
I’ve gotten all of my bikes here and have been pleased with the service and selection. The other thing I like are all the events and services Mad Dog sponsors. You’ll see repair stations at some of the popular trails with emergency tools and such that they donated. It’s neat to see a business involved in the community.

I’ve been going to Mad Dog Cycles for over a year and they have consistently helped in every aspect of bicycle care in an efficient and immediate manner. They’re consummate professionals that care about what they do.
They’ve saved me time and time again and helped me make the transition from not riding a bike at all and knowing nothing about any of it to year round bike riding. They’ve helped me understand the mechanics of bike riding so I can fix things on my own and helped me to avoid future problems with their knowledge and expertise.

I had two bike I need tuned up and brought them in and am very satisfied with my experience. Dave helped me out and explained everything and was very practical and knowledgeable. I bought my first «real» mountain bike from Mad Dog a few years ago and thought the service was awesome, however, with more experience, I have discovered how they compare to other shops.
I have been in the shop numerous times looking for gear… jerseys, shorts, chamois, gloves, helmets, tires, etc… and they never have anything in stock. The clothing they do stock is in odd sizes. They offer to order stuff in for you, but if I’m going to be doing that, I may as well just shop online from retailers with much better prices.
I’ve never felt like their service was exceptionally personal and the experience you get really depends on who you talk to. I’ve talked to some people who are incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, while others (including the owner) have a total bike shop attitude where it seems like they’d rather be doing anything than helping you (this is based on numerous experiences, not a reaction to one bad experience).
Their service department is severely lacking. I took a bike in for a basic brake bleed during the off-​season and was told it would be three days to get it back, plus the price for the bleed was higher than I’ve found elsewhere. When I got my bike back, there was no pressure in the line at all (bad bleed, allowed too much air to get in). If anyone had test ridden the bike, this would have been obvious. Another three days later and I picked it up again after the second bleed. While there was some pressure in the line, the levers were still extremely squishy, so I gave up and took it somewhere else. I had issues with gearing after tune-​ups as well (losing my chain while switching gears, ghost shifting, etc…). I know they do a TON of work on bikes, but it would be nice to have things done right the first time.

One morning I decided that I finally wanted to purchase a bike. Having very little knowledge but some extra cash in the bank I walked into mad dogs, told them what I was looking for, and walked out with a brand new bike. I’ve had the bike over a month now and I’m still as pleased as ever. The price was just under retail and the service is always friendly and helpful.

On the suggestion of a friend I went to Mad Dog to buy a bike. We weren’t there long before everyone wanted to make sure we were being helped. Randy, helped me out. He was awesome making sure I got a bike that was in my price range, fit me right and was what I wanted. Since the bike I wanted needed to be ordered, he took time to show me different color options available, and didn’t just order whatever.
It was a busy Saturday morning, however, the staff took time to help the customers, and answer questions, and not rush everyone through.
If you need a bike or your bike repaired, I highly recommend taking it to Mad Dog. I know its where I’ll be going from now on.

Mad dogs is awesome! Every time I’ve gone there my problems have been solved. The mechanics are knowledgeable and friendly, and the service is top notch. I personally like the Orem location over the Provo one, but that’s just me. Ryan and Nate did an excellent job getting me back on the road, thanks guys!

I highly recommend Mad Dog Cycles! My husband wanted me to start riding bikes with him and one of Mad Dog’s Sales Associates recommend a hybrid, I believe it was called a Trek FX, for my first bike. I fell in love with cycling because of that bike and recently upgraded to a woman’s specific road bike called the Lexa SLX. I, of course, went back to Mad Dog Cycles and was not disappointed. The service was great and they really made me feel comfortable. I had a lot of questions and the person helping me took the time to answer all of the. I don’t know much about fixing bikes so I also bought the Red Shield warranty and tune up package and now parts and labor is cover for 5 years! I have already taken my bike in for a tune up and they were quick to get my bike back to me I everything is still working great! I am a Mad Dog Cycles customer for life!

A few months ago I cracked my Trek Madone on the drive-​side chainstay. I took my bike into Mad Dog Cycles in Orem and they did a great job taking care of me. They gave me a few different options on what I could do and I decided to have my frame repaired by Calfee. Mad Dog Cycles helped me boxed up my bike and send the frame to Calfee. They communicated with me throughout the entire process so I always knew what was going on. As soon as my bike arrived at the shop they called me. It was an extremely simple process and I am excited to have my bike back. The repair looks great, better than new and I can’t thank Mad Dog Cycles enough for the great service.

I’ve only had positive experiences with service and products. I purchased a hifi pro last year and I’ve love th purchase and the continued service in keeping it finely tuned.
