Rarely does the food match the service. I-5 nailed it. Deb served up stellar BLTs. Loved the fish and shrimp combo and Tuesday free dessert clinched it.

They have that home-cooked meal feeling to their food and layout that a lot of people enjoy. And you get a really good amount of food for what you pay for.

This café was a great pull-off from the highway. The linguica burger with Portuguese cheese was delicious. Chicken fried steak was nicely crusted with good gravy.

This restaurant used to be really good, we used to go there often. Not sure what happened but last time we where there I ordered the turkey melt. Which was served greasy and on the cold side. More then that it had 2 pieces of sliced turkey on it, and 1 piece of bacon cut in half.

Great service, and great food. I had been hesitating to stop here since they opened and finally decided it was time to try it. I had the French dip, mom had the pastrami on Swiss and the youngster had a cheese pizza. All of it was homemade even the kids pizza. I will definitely be stopping by again!

Pretty good spot on hwy 5, especially since everything else on 5 is not too great! Cool, greasy spoon-type place that has an adjoining ice cream parlor. I’ll probably be back one of these days.

We enjoy the breakfasts at I-5 Café. As local residents, we are frequent diners. We have always found the food and service to be great. Our food had always been served in a reasonable time. We have and will continue to go there often.

Fantastic breakfasts with lots of friendly, fast service. On a Sunday morning, you can’t get much better than Betty serving you a California Omelette and hot coffee!

Good solid café food, lots of menu options, friendly service in what appears to be a local place with homey touches and friendly servers. Happy to have found a «real place» on I-5

Currently sitting, waiting for our breakfast. My brother and I came in a little bit late while the rest of the table already ordered. As soon as we sat down they mentioned that they have been waiting for some length of time already. They took our late arrival orders immediately as the others plates simultaneously arrived. I can say their food looks amazing!

Stopped for lunch between what is probably considered their busy time. Service was slow even though there were only two other occupied tables. The burgers were ok. The mac and cheese was inedible.

I was up in Orland a few weekends ago, visiting my parents. My mom was stuck at an all day work training, so after my dad and I dropped her off, we stopped at the I-5 Café for breakfast. I ordered the prime rib and egg special, which came with home fries and toast. My dad had the linguica and eggs. The food wasn’t anything earth-shattering, but definitely a very solid typical diner breakfast. It was good, filling, and hit the spot early on a Saturday morning. The service was friendly and welcoming, though toward the end of our meal, the restaurant was beginning to get really busy. We ended up waiting a little too long for our bill because our waitress kept getting pulled away by newly arriving customers. Definitely not the waitress’ fault, more of a staffing issue. The I-5 Café is a nice addition to Orland, an area lacking in solid breakfast spots.

I don’t know what happen, maybe just a great new staff. But this place has made a compleat turnaround from the last few times I have been here. Food was hot, very yummy, waitress was great and there were 13 of us. We will def go back more often now!!!

Seems like a family owned restaurant, which was cute, but when I walked in the girl at the front didn’t even acknowledge us! The woman in the back had to come out of the kitchen to tell us to seat ourselves… She(the older lady) seemed to be more on top of running the restaurant. The menu was huuuuge with lots of selections but not much in terms of vegetables(except in some omelettes). Most of the food was fried. I ordered the crispy chicken wrap with tots. The food was rather slow to arrive but came out at the perfect temperature and the tots were delicious! I just wish my wrap had less cheese/ranch dressing and more veggies… The exterior of the café has a «mission» feel to it, but the inside is filled with a random assortment of chairs/tables and old license plates/hub caps, etc. Overall, good food but wish there was better service and a fresher selection of veggies… The«salad bar» had like 1 vegetable in it lol
