My favorite restaurant after two years in Florida! Amazing service! Steak is always great but tonight I tried the short ribs and they were unbelievable! Side dishes like lobster Mac and cheese and the flourless chocolate cake round it all out perfectly. Well done. Nice atmosphere like an old school country club. Crab cake and wedge salad were very good. Steaks were perfectly done. Service was excellent. Would certainly return.

We were visiting Orlando for a conference, staying at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort. The restaurant, A Land Remebered, was highly recommended, so we made a reservation and looked forward to a high end experience. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. From the time we walked in the door, I was disappointed. We were waiting to be greeted and seated for five minutes before the host actually appeared. Once seated, we had to ask our waiter to clean off the spilled pepper on the table cloth, not a great beginning. The food was mediocre; we ordered onion soup and the Brie cheese appetizers; neither was special. We watched as the couple across from us sent their meal back due to mistakes. Our dishes were not removed until we asked someone to remove them; our food didn’t arrive until we had the host look into the delay. It was not hot and once again did not live up to the hype. Bob, who wasn’t our waiter, recognized how frustrated we were and continually checked on us and offered drinks and desserts as an appeasement. This restaurant is absolutely overrated and I would not recommend it to anyone.

The finest meal I’ve ever had in Florida! We were seated promptly and our server was very attentive. We skipped the appetizers and straight for the main course. All three of us ordered steaks. One filet, one bone in ribeye and one Porterhouse. All were cooked as ordered. I chose the lobster mac n cheese. It was also prepared properly.

This was the best dinner on this trip. Ron had a big steak and I enjoyed the filet and scallops. Susan also had a filet and we all we in awe. We also shared the the garlic mashed, asparagus and lobster Mac and cheese Bob is the only waiter to have make sure you ask for him. Mr Rosen highly recommends him. Top shelf and great deserts.

I visited this place with my husband and his family for a special night of magical dining, and let’s just say, I left hungry. The brie mushroom appetizer was probably the most delicious and interesting dish all night. I ordered a salad – pretty standard, nothing great. My steak was completely inedible. It was so overly peppered that I could not swallow a single piece. I enjoyed the potatoes, but that doesn’t make up for an overly spiced steak. The cake tasted like a formerly frozen supermarket cake, and as an avid dessert lover, I didn’t even finish that. I stopped for a fast food sandwich on the way home to fill the hunger that this place left.

Went here for magical dining. The food was okay. My wife’s steak was WAY too peppery(probably 4 times as peppery as mine) which was odd to see such a large difference without any request for more or less pepper. My steak was good, but not great, certainly not as good as delfriscos or christners or even Lynda’s. The appetizers were okay, the dessert wasn’t anything special, my cheesecake could have been out of a box from publix, nothing special about it.

Food was amazing! And so was our server Mohamed! He was on top of everything! My steak came out too well and he immediately took it back and got me the correct temperature! Celebrated my birthday with amazing friends and great dinner! The rolls and gator bitter were the best! We came for magical dining and the oyster and ahi tuna was delicious! 120oz ribeye and shrimp were perfect! Dessert, well, that definitely was a great ending!

Chose this place because of the Unilocal reviews! Plus it is part of Magical Dining for September and it was my Birthday! The rolls served with alligator butter are just sinful. Started with Ahi Tuna as an appetizer. Yum! My b-friend had the fried Oysters. Just as good. We both chose the 12oz Ribeye and Shrimp. Everything was Cooked to perfection, especially the asparagus. Ended with the strawberry cheesecake and was not disappointed. A heavy pour in the Capt N Coke I ordered. We asked our server for a few extra rolls with the alligator butters to take home for the kids and he made it happen. The only disappointment was … They knew we we’re celebrating a birthday and although I didn’t expect a Chili’s Song & Dance, a little«Happy Birthday» written in chocolate sauce on the dessert plate would have been a nice touch. We did have a late reservation and probably one of the last tables served. After our meals came out the lights in the kitchen went dark and the staff started breaking down tables while we were still eating and I find that very rude. For that I give it 4 stars.

Amazing experience ! If you can, request Bob Fredette. Attentive, funny, personable,(but not a lingerer). Bob spent the proper amount of time conversing with us and then knew enough to give us our space. The bloody Mary’s were made exactly how we like them, SPICY! I had the Bone in ribeye, baked onion, wife had the Filet, and we both had lobster Mac and wedge salad. The only issue we had was that we couldn’t finish it all. Located at the Rosen Shingle Creek, customers enjoy free valet parking. Ambiance was great, there was a true mystical feel to the place. Enchanting, but not in a corny Disney type way, more of in a Malifocent meets four star dining type of way. Next time we head to Orlando, we will make it a point to dine at a Land Remembered — truly great. Remember, if you can, request Bob, you won’t be sorry!

We went to A Land Remembered because of Magical Dining Month, and we’ll definitely be coming back even when this special isn’t running. The experience was definitely worth the price! We sat at the bar because we didn’t have a reservation when we went. The bartenders will very attentive and friendly and my husband was able to keep up with college football while we waited for our food. The bread that comes before the appetizers is SO. GOOD. It reminded me of a biscuit as far as flakiness went, but there was melted cheese on top(maybe Asiago?) that added a nice crunch. It also came with alligator-shaped butter pads. Super cute! We both chose the Pine Island Wedge salad for our appetizer. I’m not much of a blue cheese fan, so it was just okay for me, but my husband really loved it. I ordered the Zech’s Steak and Shrimp and my husband opted for the Filet Mignon. He was very impressed with the quality of the cut. I, too, was highly pleased with my ribeye. The melted butter on top really pulled the whole dish together! For dessert, we both opted for the Tobby’s Chocolate Crunch. It reminded me of a chocolate mousse. It was rich and decadent and the berry garnish it came with was fresh and the perfect tart balance. This is definitely a place we will be coming back to!

We had a late dinner at the restaurant and started out with some of the best lump crab cake ever. The stuffed brie was outstanding, and the scallops were cooked perfectly. From here we went on with a great bottle of 2011 Darioush Cab and some incredible rib eye, file mignon oscar, seabags, and grouper. All were cooked to perfection. There service was impeccable; there’s just no other word for it. This was the first time at the Rosen Shingles Resort, the restaurant fits in well with the rest of the hotel. All top-notch and a perfect spot to return to when in Orlando.

Really disappointed here when I dropped by for lunch. Looking back I don’t think there is one positive thing I can say about this place based upon my experience. It went south right away when we found ourselves waiting five minutes at the hostess stand to be seated. When she finally did appear, there was no apology or explanation offered. The place looked to be about half full but perhaps they were short staffed? We did get our drinks ordered and delivered quickly(ok one good thing) but from there it took 50 minutes for us to get our food ordered and out from the kitchen. I went with the sliders and my table mates both got the grouper sandwich. My sliders arrived luke warm at best, had stale buns, were overcooked and lack any flavor. As a side, I picked homemade chips that were cold, not crispy and again not really tasty. At this point, we were late to get back from lunch or I would have sent everything back. Service was spotty throughout with my water glass going empty on two occasions and no real feedback on why things were so slow. Sorry to say you can do much better than here and this will be a land soon forgotten.

The food here will be sure to impress as the dictionary sized menu will make everyone happy, starting with the bread… We’re do I start. The bread was warm and crispy with a warm centre. It was cheese bread so as you can imagine there was cheese on top, and you(unlike many other failed attempts at real cheese bread) can taste the cheese without it clouding the taste of the butter and bread. The butter was sculpted to perfection as it was shaped like a traditional Everglades alligator. The crab cake was the the star of the show, with a scallion dressing drizzled by the side in a zigzag across the dish. There were seasoned lemons that when you drizzle it across the plate you were met with a fresher tasting crab cake. The cake was 99.99 percent crab leading it to stand out from the rest. The next corse I had was a mixture of things. The first was the lobster mac and cheese. It was the macaroni without the cheese. It was nice and crispy but with very little lobster. The second was the steak and it was fantastic. It stole the show from the crab and lit up my tastebuds, and the The beautiful garlic source that came with It enhanced an already magnificent dish. Altogether it was amazing but I think the décor is slightly all over the place and they need to put more cheese in the macaroni. I have to say are service was grate and if you go here I recommend a server called Michael he will be sure to entertain you along with Deliver grate service.

Best dining decision whilst at Rosen Shingle Creek! We were looking for a nice restaurant for a business dinner, and I picked A Land Remembered — partially because it was the nicest restaurant at the Resort… and because it was at the resort! We could have taken an Über offsite and whatnot, but the convenience and the great reviews lured us in. We made a reservation a few weeks in advance, and I’m glad we did. We were a party of 6 — so not huge, but for a round table, there aren’t many. I’m not familiar with the book A Land Remembered, but that’s how the restaurant got its name. I’m presuming that the book looks something like the menu does: leatherbound, metal plaque, etc. Pretty hefty. There is a room for private dining, which looks lovely, almost as soon as you walk in. If you have a need for an intimate dinner, I’d definitely recommend it. And now for a few points: Service: Top notch! Our server was always available, had very detailed knowledge of the menu, and knew her wines. My manager had asked several in-depth questions about the wines, and she was able to answer all of them. Food: DELICIOUS! Oh, yum, yum! I had a catered meal at the resort another night(and had steak), and it just did NOT compare to what was served at A Land Remembered. At A Land Remembered, we started with the mixed appetizer platter. A lot of the stuff on it was fishy — which I don’t eat — but the melted brie was yummy. I used it on on the cheese bread that they served, and that was nice. I ordered the 8 oz filet and it was divine! Probably one of the top five steaks I’ve ever eaten(#1 — Chop House in Palm Spring, #2 — Mastro’s in Costa Mesa, #3 — Gulliver’s in Irvine…) Served with a full head of garlic, you can«customize» the flavor. No need for any sauces — absolutely lovely! All of the sizes are a la carte, and served family style. Seasonal mushrooms were my favorite, but we also ordered the collard greens, asparagus, and I believe one or two other things that escape me. I’m filling up just thinking about the meal! I’m sure that the desserts would have been scrumptious, but unfortunately, no room left in my tummy!

I have been wanting to try A Land Remembered for years, so my wife and I finally decided to give it a go during Magical Dining Month. We were greeted promptly at the door and seated right away. I loved the décor and atmosphere. Dimly lit, with dark, earthy colors. Very classy. Call it «romantic Southern.» I appreciated the window patterns that blurred the TV light coming from the bar. A welcome separation. We sat at a booth near the back, which was nice and quiet at first. The decibel level was amped up drastically with the arrival of a group a rowdy businessmen(probably fresh off a day-long conference) that were seated at the table right behind to us. Needless to say, I was annoyed at having to speak up when talking to my wife, and surprised that the men weren’t asked to take it down a notch. Magical Dining allows for a three-course dinner for $ 33/person. You simply cannot beat that price! We started with the Pine Island Wedge salad and Ahi Tuna, respectively. Then we both followed it up with the Zech’s Steak & Shrimp, and ended the evening with a White Crème Brulee and Banana Cream Pie. Every dish was fantastic. Well cooked and seasoned, and very filling. Almost a bit much to handle, and these were supposedly“smaller portions” designed specifically for Magical Dining Month. So we of course had to take home a doggie bag. The alligator-shaped butter was a nice touch too. At first, our server J.J. «forgot» to bring us the Magical Dining menus we had requested; which I felt might have been a minor sales tactic. But when she forgot to add an extra side of collard greens to our order, I realized these were just minor hiccups. No harm done, really. She was very friendly and relaxed… and very helpful in recommending menu items. If only Unilocal allowed us to give half-star ratings. This was really a 4.5 star experience overall. Near perfect. I can definitely see us coming back soon to try the main menu. Oh… and don’t forget to ask for parking validation. You get free valet service for eating at the restaurant. That was a nice bonus considering the slow drive up to the main Shingle Creek entrance is a lovely one! ;-)

One word describes the entire experience, including food, service & ambiance: Incredible! The ambiance is very elegant, modern and romantic. Perfect for a fancy bday, date night or anniversary. Dimly lit with nice décor. his establishment provides extraordinary service! Extremely timely and with a pleasant demeanor! The staff seems to enjoy serving, which is fantastic! The food was created to perfection! We started with the Indian Town Shrimp Cocktail, which had a delicious three tiered sauce, the Diver Scallops, would have preferred a bit more sear but were still great, and the Pine Island Steakhouse Salad, which featured a beautiful wedge with just enough dressing, tomatoes & bacon. The wedge was so conveniently portioned in two desperate dishes for us to share, how thoughtful. :D The 20oz peppercorn rubbed New York Strip was plenty for a shared portion because we paired it with the Lobster Mac n’ Cheese. They both were FABulous! I was SO pleased with the PERFECT medium-rare center! The seared edges of the steak were delectable and seasoned to perfection. To end with a complimentary birthday moose cake slice was not necessary, but much enjoyed! All around, I am so glad that we found this restaurant! We don’t go to fancy places too often but the prices arn’t bad if you don’t mind sharing, the portions definitely allow for it. We will definitely be back for special occasions in the future!
