Grapes. Soil. Barrels… …the quirky shoppe owner who turned a disability into a dream… A bottle of wine is nothing more than a unique grape grown in a specific soil and aged in a flavored barrel… until it’s carefully chosen by someone who listens to your desire, disappears into a cool cellar and reappears with a magical selection. Enter Jay Smith, the quirky shoppe owner who turned a disability into a dream come true — not just for himself but for the loyal followers who call on him to take them on a journey. A sommelier in his own right, Smith was our personal tour-guide for a small group of friends looking for a short European trip through bottled reds in an afternoon gathering. As you can see from the picture of three empties from left to right we started in Italy, journeyed through France and rested comfortably in Spain. If you are in search of a delightful, eclectic trip from the mundane spend a little time at Cavanaugh’s and ask the curator for a lively story with each bottle. — Remarkable selection. — Personal service. — Multiple settings inside and out. — Reasonable price. — What more could you ask for?

I’ve driven by this place numerous times and been curious about it. From the outside it looks like a very mediocre whole in the wall. Upon entrance I was blown away with the selections of wines and setup. The owner was very friendly and helpful. He led me to a great and reasonably priced bottle. I can’t wait to return. I’d recommend coming here to anyone looking for great wine and a fun experience.

I just had my first experience at Cavanaugh’s and it was amazing. The owner Jay hosted the Orlando Chapter of the women’s organization Femfessionals, for which I’m President. From the moment we arrived to set up for the event Jay showed off his amazing customer service skills. He was very helpful asking if he could carry any items in or help prep anything prior to the event. During the event, even though it was previously planned that attendees would have the option of purchasing wine by the glass, Jay unexpectedly and graciously offered to provide a wine tasting to our nearly 25 attendees. Rather than accepting any money for the wine, he asked that anyone who could provide money to donate to the College Park Neighborhood Arts and Theatre Center. We were able to raise $ 200 for CPP. This is definitely a man that loves building and supporting his community. Jay was friendly, accommodating and this venue was a wonderful location to have our event. I’ll definitely be back to enjoy the space with friends again.

Best prices and a great selection on wines and beer. The owner knows what he is talking about and he is a great guy. The atmosphere is wonderful and the side patio is great too.

Walked in here with 5 minutes to spare before my hair appointment. The owner was friendly and helpful. He provided a brief tour and we discovered we have the same hair stylist! It’s not often these days that you get such a personalized experience. That interaction alone will have me coming back for more. Even the dog lounging in the middle of the place was friendly and laid back.

Nice little place in college park and the prices are uncharacteristically low.(If the owners are reading this, please don’t change this =o) From the outside, it appears almost dark and empty at times, but inside you’ll find a fully stocked store full of great wines, music that isn’t overpowering, a friendly staff that doesn’t crowd you and some good craft beers you can buy in single bottles(nowhere near the selection as total wine, but definitely less expensive). They have a few craft beers at a time in a keg, plus an indoor bar area, tables all aroung and a seating area outside(not really a «courtyard», but it feels like one). If you like wine and craft beers, it’s definitely a place to check out.

I’ve visited twice — both times to find wine I intended to purchase as gifts. These were for people I didn’t know well enough to know their favorites. So, I was looking for advice and suggestions. The clerk was extremely knowledgeable. I explained what I was looking for based on what I thought the person might like and told him the price point I’d like to pay. For each selection, he was spot on! Both people mentioned how much they enjoyed the wine and how it was something they would pick out for themselves. I will definitely be back!
