I got a whole cart full of grocery. When I went to check out, the tombstone pizza was on sale for $ 2.50. I told the cashier. The cashier said are you sure I said yes, it says it on the sign so the manager went to check the price and walked back to her office with the sign that said $ 2.50 and came back out and said it was $ 3.99. How are you gonna tell me it was not on sale when I saw you take the sign in your office? She could of apologize and said it was a mistake and honor the price. That’s not very good customer service at all. So since then I never shop at Save A Lot again. People are so rude these days. You should never judge a customer. The sad thing about it is the other employee saw her and was shaking her head cuz she knew that was wrong of the manager.

Reminds me of an Aldi except there are some name brands. Not a lot, but enough if you needed to pick up a few items. This feels like a small store compared to a regular sized Publix. It has a small selection of produce that looked pretty good. Bring your own bags or pay either 99 cents for one you can keep and use again and again. Or 3 cents for a large, throw away plastic bag or 5 cents for a paper bag.

Once upon a time, this was a Winn Dixie supermarket. Now it’s been downsized, cleaned from top to bottom and stocked with bargain priced groceries. Sure, there’s no deli or bakery, but for staples like hamburger, chicken, canned goods or dairy, the prices can’t be beat. The aisles are wide and the store is clean and well lit. You may not find all the national brands, such as Kraft, but there are some. Store brands rule here. On my recent quick visit, I bought one each Hass and Florida avocadoes for .99 each. Dole salad in a bag for $ 1.00. Three boneless skinless chicken breasts for $ 1.79/ pound. Light tuna, .63/can, and a bag of frozen speckled butter beans, a southern staple, for $ 1.49. The store(s) are very similar to Aldi, with three important differences: The prices are just a tad lower. You don’t have to rent a shopping cart. It is owned by Americans, not Germans. Does that qualify as «shopping local?» Next time you see one, stop in and pick up a few items and save some money. Oh, remember to bring your own shopping bag, or you’ll have to pay for new ones.
