I’ve worked for the best chefs in the world. I travel the country eating my way through business meetings. I have to say Osprey Tavern is now up there as one of my favorite experiences. I’m not going to bury the headline. The lamb ribs are up there on one of my top 10 things to eat. I literally took my wife take to Osprey for dessert the other evening and I had the lamb ribs as dessert. The sweet asian influenced bbq sauce, rich meat and perfectly charred but not rendered indulgence is up there with Jean Georges(yes that Jean Georges) Foie Gras terrine. I think I ordered every appetizer there last night. We luckily had a table big enough for 6 for 3.5 of us. .5 you ask? My son max came along. He was not the only child in the place. I love that we can take our son to a incredible dining experience. They have a kids menu that my son loved but was tempting for me too. I’ve been there for brunch as well. Top 3 in orlando. Here is the big point. If you are a true foodie(read want truly outside the box food) living in Orlando, there are not a lot of places to go. Osprey has balanced that adventure with great thing to satisfy the rest of the party. Oh, and über it there. The wine list and cocktails are ridiculously good.

Tonight was my first visit to Osprey. Both my husband and I were both blown away by the food and atmosphere. Great place for a date night or special occasion. The falafel was so good, tender and delicious and the peach pizza was the perfect mix of sweet and salty. The bacon bolognese with whipped goat cheese was amazing! You must try it! Put this restaurant on your must visit list next time you are in the Orlando area or looking for a great meal. Can’t wait to return!

Wohoo is right! I came in to celebrate a birthday and they were SO accommodating. I had made a reservation through OpenTable for 12pm on a Sunday for brunch. We were seated right away by hostesses who happily wished me a «Happy Birthday» and(spoiler alert) gave us some sweet personalized menus. We had the bottomless mimosas, and they were TRULY bottomless. The mimosas were just like I like ‘em… not overly orange-juiced. Our server, Jack, was attentive, fun, and helpful. We had the Fried Chicken Sandwich(MUSTGET) the Canadian Bacon Benedict(MUSTGET) and the Blueberry Dutch Baby(MUSTGET). The atmosphere was amazing, and there was a musician playing live music. I can’t wait to go back!

This place is one of my favorites. Came in with my girlfriend for date night and were blown away. Joey at the bar was informative as well as attentive. The food to be honest we only had appetizers, but the PEELANDEATSHRIMP!!! OK shrimp have been done to death. This made me realize why I love them so. The comeback sauce makes you do it, comeback for more. Had the charcuterie plate and cheese board and were happy with the selection. Taste profile on wild!!! Making this a date night staple fo sho.

Delicious food and even better people watching. Sit at the bar either alone or with a friend and chat it up with the bartenders or the people next to you(unless they are an uptight old British couple)! Ever since The Osprey opened I’ve been wanting to try it out. Did not disappoint at all! Cocktails were on point, the lamb ribs were amazing and even the house salad was tasty. I can’t wait to go back and try different things on the ever changing menu! Well done! Only complaint is that the bartender had a hard time picking up on eye contact for service. Otherwise… yes!!!

Great cocktails, excellent food, fun atmosphere. I’ve been dying to try out Osprey Tavern since they opened, and finally had the chance to stop in twice. First, it was for late night drinks with friends. The server was very knowledgeable about the cocktails, and made several good recommendations. Everyone in the group was happy with their drink selections. I also went there for brunch with my wife, and we were very pleased with our experience. They did have unlimited mimosas, but we did not partake. All their brunch offerings are reasonably priced, so have no fear. Overall a fantastic place for food and drink!

When I first dined at Osprey, I thought to myself(and probably blabbed to the server) that the menu and general feel were what Cask & Larder was aiming for, or at least might well have been. And that was before they had a permanent chef. After many return visits, I almost feel like Osprey has gotten into the gradual up-down cycle that its sister restaurant, Seito Sushi, has for years traversed. But in the case of Osprey, it was perhaps more of a menu choice option issue than one of quality. Osprey has a small menu, and typically a very good one. But after they took on Chef Burnett it did seem as though, for a while, you had a hard time finding something the menu that wasn’t really doggone fatty. Not that I should complain — have you seen me? I eat. And it was well executed. Whether it was foie or lamb ribs or pork belly, or even a very fatty charcuterie, for a while it seemed like it would be hard to find protein on the menu that wasn’t fairly heavy. That can be the problem with a small menu and an effort by a good chef to try to provide something interesting and different. And overall I think the Osprey is again as good as it was when it opened… maybe it took some adjustment. This is the biggest reason for the 4-Star rating. The choices placed on a limited size menu combined with a couple of service issues almost not worth mentioning, and likely not common to most guests. Otherwise, the Osprey is a near 5-Star for exactly what it is: a higher-end gastrotavern with appealing small plates at attractive prices for high quality, creative, well-prepared items. The beverage menu is really quite impressive, and it doesn’t matter whether you enjoy beer or wine with your dinner, you’ll be satisfied with very good choices. The full bar gives you the range from apéritif to digestif and all which lies between. This is why, to me, I initially felt like Osprey was the fulfillment of what I had hoped Cask & Larder would be – I thought Osprey’s menu easily beat Cask’s late night menu, and despite the lack of all the fancy stainless brewing gizmos here at Osprey, you’ll have a hard time finding something similar to what you like, if not exactly your brand. The beverage choices feel broad because they are. Beverage Director Harrison Cremata seemed awfully young for such a job, and I remember telling him so after about four Cognacs one evening. :-) But maybe he’s just hiding his age because his taste is impeccable and his knowledge of wines and beers extraordinarily broad and deep. This guy knows his stuff and not only makes himself very available, but manages a knowledgeable and well-trained staff. It’s hard to get a bad recommendation on the cocktails, wine and beer here. In all these visits, I’ve not yet tried a dessert, nor have I had a proper brunch offering. You’ll want to visit other reviews for those. But when consider the experience at Osprey, including the outside dining option(a *must* for me if I am to return frequently to an establishment) with wonderful view down to the Baldwin Park fountain and lake backdrop, it’s really hard to think of a better take on this unique theme. I’m thrilled with Osprey. Big fan.

I think my tummy is in heaven! Came here to celebrate my Dads b-day and these guys were awesome! From the wonderful service and a lovely ice-cream cake with a candle that was given to my Dad at the end when we ordered dessert, everything was right! For starters we got the bread, ribs and the oysters — everything was so so so good! For the mains, my mum got the amazing vegetarian choice –peas and carrot Agnolotti and the carrot purée was fingerlicious! It was also great as mum could the parmigiano-reggiano in the side as sometime certain cheeses don’t suit her. My dad got the Fish n Chips — loved the fries especially when dipped in that malt vinegar ketchup — so good! We didn’t realize that there was a special accompanying sauce for the fries and actually got ketchup and the fries didn’t taste that great with the regular ketchup but were spectacular with the malt vinegar. Then my brother and I split roasted organic chicken for two — the sauce in this was so yummy! But the take it away and bring it back all carved, but my one tip is to request the innards — I’m a big fan of liver but you won’t get it unless you ask! Lastly for dessert, the Tea and Honey cake is light and airy and that earl gray ice-cream is so good! The honey comb crunch is just like tasting the Cadbury’s Crunchie chocolate bar and made me nostalgic for my time lived in Australia. Oh also drinks are so good, including all the wines — frankly you really can’t go wrong with anything here, so GOGOGO! Note: #79 of Unilocal 100 challenge for 2016

I have been wanting to come here for Brunch for quite some time because a lot of friends have told me how wonderful the food is. We finally made it and I have to say… It lived up to the hype. The place is nicely decorated with plenty of seating inside and out. It is very apparent that the details are NOT overlooked when you walk thru the door. The 80’s music playing in the background was definitely a winner! After being seated at a table by the window, the owner, Jason Chin, came over to visit. We know him from Central Florida Foodies and it was great to finally meet him face to face. He sent over the baked goods cart to say Happy Anniversary. The cart contained Apple Cider Donut Muffins, Everything Bagel Buns, Coffee Cake, Strawberry Champagne macaroons, Strawberry Almond Cheese Danish and Brioche Cinnamon Rolls. I have to say that the Danish was my personal favorite. Thank you for that Jason!!! We BOTH appreciated it very much… Normally we try something different on the menu but Jason was telling us about the Saffron Pappardelle which contains Braised Lamb Shoulder, Piperade, Vierge and Minted Yogurt. You could see his face light up when he was describing it so we both opted to give it a try. I could try to do it justice by describing how incredible it was BUT… it was a dish you just have to experience for yourself. I savored every last bite… While we were waiting for our food, the table to my left had their food arrive and they ordered several small items but every dish was plated beautifully and the looks on their faces said just how good it was. The Dutch Baby was the dish they started with and I will give it a try my next trip. This place is going to be my new GOTO spot for Brunch. After finally tasting their food and seeing what was being delivered to the other tables, it is fair to say I have been won over. It is nice when a place lives up to the hype and The Osprey Tavern did that. From beginning to end, this was a great way to start off an anniversary celebration! A Florida Foodie

What a great experience! My fiancé and I came by on a Friday night and experienced one of the best dinners we’ve had since moving to Orlando. I typically don’t comment on interior design/layout, but as soon as I walked in I just really liked the vibe it gave off. It looked upscale and laid back all rolled into one; the type of design everyone wishes they could duplicate at home. We wanted to start off with an order of their Parker House Rolls, but they ran out so after a long discussion(battle?) we settled on their falafel since she didn’t want the Lamb Ribs that everyone has raved about. I’ll make sure we order the ribs on our next visit, but I was absolutely surprised by the falafel. They had such a great texture and flavor that worked perfectly with the yogurt and fava shoots. I never thought fava shoots would’ve left such a great impression on me. We started sipping on our cocktails(Florida Thyme & Grace Under Pressure) which were perfect, as we ordered their Fish & Chips and Pork Porchetta; we made two perfect choices. The Fish & Chips(atlantic flounder, fries, malt vinegar and lobster aioli) was just great; it had a great flavor and great texture. The fries and malt vinegar-ketchup was such a perfect compliment to the crispy fish. My Pork Porchetta(chorizo braised kale, heirloom tomatoes and herb bacon breadcrumb) was equally as impressive. The kale was by far the most delicious kale that I’ve ever tasted. The pork itself was simply so delicious that I actually savored every single bite, I did not want that meal to ever finish. We ended the night with a serving of their Blueberry Buckle(dulcey caramel, lemon curd, shortbread, pickled blueberries, «cinnamon toast» ice cream) which was a somewhat large disappointment. Perhaps it’s because the rest of the meal elevated the bar so high, but it didn’t do it for me. It was barely alright, the flavor just wasn’t anything spectacular. All in all, the meal was one of our favorites. The friendly service from Suzie definitely complimented the great food and atmosphere. We’ll definitely return!

What an amazing restaurant in Baldwin Park! Osprey Tavern is serving up some high-quality eats and an incredible atmosphere. I dined at Osprey Tavern for the first time the other night with my mother. We were headed downtown afterwards for a show at the Dr. Phillips Center and were looking for somewhere nice to have dinner beforehand. A friend highly recommended Osprey Tavern to me so, even though it was a little bit out of our way, we decided to give it a try. And we were very happy we did. Upon entering the restaurant, the first thing you’ll notice is the décor. I’ve seen a lot of reviews talking about this. It’s for good reason. The ambiance is superb. The décor is simple and somewhat rustic, but very classy and chic at the same time. I just loved it. If anyone knows the interior decorator for Osprey Tavern, please send them to my house. :) Happy hour was going on so we indulged in some wine. Their happy hour menu has six wines to choose from, each at $ 6. A pretty good deal. However, they also have an extensive wine list outside of these six if you’re looking to go off the happy hour menu. We started off our meal with an appetizer and ordered the Charred Peel & Eat Shrimp. The dish comes in a skillet with potatoes and a good amount of shrimp. I HIGHLY recommend this app. It was seriously soooo good. Main courses: We both ordered the Sunburst Farms Trout. It came served with saffron braised endive, veggies, beet confit and smoked trout roe. And it was incredibly delicious and the dish itself was beautiful. Great presentation. Osprey Tavern is delivering some seriously high-quality food. Compliments to the chef. Of course, we had to try dessert too. We decided to split the Tea and Honey, mostly because I had just made a homemade bee sting cake for Easter recently and I was curious how Osprey Tavern did it. Spoiler alert: As with everything else, they did it very well! The cake was light and delicious. Sweet with honey, but not too sweet. Hints of lemon. The earl grey ice cream was quite delectable, as was the honeycomb candy. All-in-all we were incredibly impressed with Osprey Tavern. We agreed this will be a restaurant to which we make a lot of repeat visits. Five stars well-deserved.

Had a reservation for Easter Brunch for which we were promptly seated. We started with some delicious pastries, shared among the 4 of us. I highly recommend the apple cider muffins. Our waiter was friendly and informative. The eggs Benedict was amazing, almost looked unreal. Great bacon and potatoes too. Generous portions, a beautiful atmosphere, and great service! We will be back!

Five stars for fabulous food, a great location, and friendly servers. My husband and I come here often and we’re always very satisfied. The bar area is fun and fairly quick. The patio is lovely, and the interior is attractive. Everything is very good, but be sure to try the lamb rib appetizer. It’s amazing. We recently tried their new brunch offerings, and we were delighted. My husband ordered the chicken sandwich, and it was phenomenal. The best we’d ever tried. It came with a crispy kale side that was pretty fun, but a tad bit chewy. I ordered the sausage English muffin and it was a solid choice. The English muffin was made in house, and was awesome. The sausage was good as well. I got brussel spouts as my side, and they were good, but a bit slimy(the only blemish on the meal). We pair each of our meals with two excellent craft beers from their menu. I believe they offer brunch every Saturday and Sunday now, and their prices are reasonable for the area. We usually bring our dog when we come and sit on the patio. The servers always bring him a bowl of water and are very friendly. There are often several other dogs as well, so it’s a fun experience. Overall, this restaurant has a great location with awesome food. Highly recommended.

I ate at the Osprey for lunch with a friend last week and everything about the restaurant impressed me. My trip to Orlando had been full of hot wings at the Kerryman and BBQ at 4 Rivers. While I can never turn down a good piece of meat covered in sauce, I was thrilled to have a solid meal at a solid restaurant that was ever so slightly more upscale. We sat at the bar and both of the bartenders who assisted us were really knowledgable. I ordered a habanero bee sting and it was nice and spicy, while sting being able to taste the honey. The bartender suggested the pork belly to me but I went against him(though I’m sure it would have been delicious as well) and got a pasta dish with ricotta and preserved lemon. Insane. I am always slightly nervous when I order pasta because I always fear the size of the portion(I will eat all of it) but this dish had a perfect amount of pasta for lunch! The pasta tasted fresh and the dish was light and bright with the lemon! I’m glad that I have a dozen reasons to go back to Orlando so that I can continue to go the Osprey when I visit!

This place was awesome and was a great way to end a long Sunday workday with a relaxing dinner. The ambiance alone is enough to kind of calm you down and gives you a lot to look at because it is so beautifully decorated. Our waiter, Anderson, was awesome and was very informative about the menu and ingredients in each dish. He answered any questions we had and provided prompt and friendly service. We started with the homemade rolls which came with honey orange butter and a blueberry compote which were both to die for when slathered on the delicious bread. So darn good. Despite usually trying to order different things so we can share, we both had to order the Ribeye which was one of the best steaks I’ve had in a long time. The scalloped potatoes it came with were amazing. We indulged on a little alcohol — I had the Brunch Punch which was tasty, fruity, and had a hint of some fall spice which was unexpectedly great. My girlfriend had the Pear Julep which she loved! We couldn’t resist dessert so we ended our meal with the Strawberries and Cream. It was really great, although I wasn’t crazy about the cake. The strawberry ice-cream was phenomenal and so buttery smooth it melted in your mouth! Y-U-M. We will be back!

I came for pre-dinner drinks and ended up with dessert. I loved it all! For drinks we tried the«Florida thyme» and the«banana pajamas». Both were great, but the Florida thyme wins. It was so delicious, and even super pretty. For dessert we tried the strawberries and cream, which my favorite part of was the rose water ganache. It was amazing! We also tried a scoop of the bubblegum sherbet. Also amazing! And again, beautiful. After dessert, and seeing all the yummy food coming out of the kitchen, we were dying to try the whole roasted chicken for two. Unfortunately they ran out that night, so we’ll be back!

My experience at Osprey Tavern exceeded every expectation I had! 5 stars for ambiance, food, drinks and service! The first thing you notice is just how beautiful this place is– white brick walls contrasted with dark leather and wood accents, custom made light fixtures, an open kitchen and beautiful white marble bar in the middle of the restaurant. Don’t skip the bread! We started with the parker house rolls which come with 6 pull apart pieces and orange spice butter and berry jam. They were perfectly golden, buttery and fluffy. We also had the lamb rib appetizer which also comes with six pieces of the most tender meat, cooked in smoked honey with caramelized yogurt drizzled on top. They were finger licking good!(Don’t worry, they give you fancy wet wipes to clean off with!) For the main course we tried the Allen Brothers Beef Rib Eye which was cooked to a perfect medium rare and served with an amazing side of scalloped potatoes in creamy valdeon cheese. We also had the tripleatail which is masa crusted and had a delicious medley of rock shrimp, bacon riolla, and peppers. The red sauce and flavors didn’t overpower, but perfectly compliment the fish. We also tried a specialty dish, the house made bucatini and amatriciana sauce and this might have been my favorite thing of all! To complement the meal I had the Florida Thyme cocktail which was perfectly balanced and a nice light drink to go with my feast. After eating so much you think we’d be full but no, had to try dessert! Everything sounded delicious but we went with the Blueberry Buckle which was out of this world fantastic! The most fresh and tart blueberries accented lemon curd, shortbread and sweet cinnamon ice cream. It was a flavor explosion in every bite! Our server took care of us every step of the way, frequently checking in one us, having great recommendations and made a point to perfectly pace our meal.

Popped in here a couple of months ago but am just now getting around to reviewing. Shame on me. But anyway, I’d been wanting to check out this new neighborhood place. It did NOT disappoint. First of all, it’s in a great location, on the often bustling main street in Baldwin Park. Perfect for business! Upon first entering the restaurant you can’t help but admire the ambiance: Totally open dining room, lots of light, open kitchen, and the bar is situated directly in the middle. I’d have to imagine there’s always some activity noticeable with this concept. My dining companion and I sat down and immediately ordered a cocktail. This place is know for it’s delicious craft cocktails(and rather extensive wine list). I can’t specifically recall what my companion ordered but I had the«Rye or Die»: whiskey, cardaro, smoked simple, house orange bitters. Mmmm… I’m drooling right now thinking about it. There are definitely many more on the drink menu I’d like to try at some point. With regard to the main dish, upon both my craving and the recommendation of the server, I went with the Osprey Tavern Burger. It’s only served for a limited time, and is actually not currently on the menu(sorry). When it arrived I couldn’t help but just marvel at its beauty. Then I was all… I’m diggin’ in. I’m pretty picky when it comes to burgers, and this was cooked perfectly to my liking and so tasty. Yes, I had to use the word moist — well, how about juicy instead? — but it totally was. Such an enjoyable dish accompanied with friendly french fried(yes, I make friends with my food before I devour it). The menu at Osprey Tavern is pretty diverse, and changes often, so be sure to check it out on their website before heading over. Whatever you choose I have no doubt it’ll be tasty. Looking forward to going back sometime soon(would love to try out their brunch).

For ambiance and gastro-experimentology, I’d give this place 5 stars but the appetizers and light plates at our table of 7 last night were neither visually appealing nor were they very flavorful. The salad I had was primarily sun-chokes with a huge dollop of lemon crema(my friend and I wondered at why anyone dare dress a salad with such) and some gnarly chopped twig bits that added a much needed texture to the dish. Other items that I recognized in my salad were a piece of carrot and a shred of radish. By comparison, my fellow diners’ fare was far heartier– the tavern dog was monstrous and came with an enormous helping of smoked fries which was way more of what I’d consider a «tavern dish»! The ciabatta sticks with shaved bresaola and scotch egg starters were also generous and filling-but the bresaola was bland. The margarita pizza starter was good, but needed more spice. Most of the plates were all visually unappealing as they were a blah mix of many shades of browns and beiges. The cookies and cream ice cream was«just okay» according to my pal and the German chocolate cake sounded delish, but arrived at the table as the chef’s deconstructed interpretation of my personal childhood fav and I refused to sample the concoction because my eyes were so sorely disappointed. Not sure I’ll return… Baldwin Park is too far off the beaten path and I wasn’t impressed enough to give it a second chance.

The Osprey Tavern is one of my favorite restaurants in Orlando. They have a small and unique menu that features contemporary American cuisine where you can dine in serious style with their impeccably decorated interior surrounding you. This is the first thing that you notice when you first walk in — it’s probably the best designed restaurant interior in Orlando(Cask & Larder and Highball & Harvest are close seconds and thirds). My wife and I are guilty of being those«obnoxious» people walking around the restaurant taking pictures, LOL but you seriously can’t help it, each and every corner and vignette begs to be photographed… I’ve been here countless times now and am only now reviewing it for some odd reason. Most of what I say will be from a collection of experiences I’ve had visiting Osprey. There was a stretch where my wife and I would come here just to have their Tavern Salad — the waiter told us that the greens are plucked fresh from a garden the day it’s served and that some of the ingredients in it are specially ordered from South America — I’m not much of a salad person but there was something SO addicting about their salad. That’s usually what I start our meals with and then we proceed to share one of their pizzas or a few of their other starters. Their Veal Cheek pizza doesn’t sound the most appetizing but it’s so delicious; the Ham & Cheese and the Butternut Squash are not your typical pizzas either but they’re also uniquely tasty and definitely worth trying. Most of the menu we’ve tried was during their long soft open but after a recent visit, I noticed they’ve expanded their offerings a fair amount and I’m really excited to go back and try their new entrée plate options. It’s definitely on the pricer side so I’ll only try those on special occasions or when I’m feeling like«treatin’ myself.» I would still suggest coming here for happy hour or for drinks and apps if you want to visit regularly, or for a special date night. They also have an amazing brunch which deserves a separate 5 star review… so basically what I’m saying is, go here at any time and you’ll be happy with your decision LOL
