I almost hate to give this place a good review… the crowds will be killer. But the food and the staff are excellent… and I am fussy about breakfast! They have a lovely variety of benedicts, including the Sante Fe made with tomatoes and guacomole. I enjoyed their croissant french toast… and found their steak amd eggs a happy surprise. The meat was cooked correctly, and all their product is fresh. The coffee is good… and they offer gluten free items that are tasty and served without angst.(some places xan be stuffy about it… not here!) And much as I enjoy the food, the staff really impressed me. I watched one waitress show great patience with a special young customer, taking pains to make sure his lunch was just so. A winning combo for a family breakfast or lunch!

Friendly service. My omelette with tomatoes, onions and pesto was perfectly prepared. My friend had a two’r of pancakes, eggs and bacon. Don’t let our Barcelona choices confuse you. It was like mom/grandma was making breakfast for you.

I’ve been going to Homeport for about half of my life on a regular basis, for all sorts of meals. Breakfast is my favorite but lunch and dinner(do they still do dinner?) are also good. It’s a homey place but it’s clean and the service is fast and good. The food never disappoints and you will always leave full. Careful for waits though.

We stopped here for a quick breakfast while touring the area. We stopped because it was there, not because we knew anything about it, but we were glad that we stumbled upon it. We did not order anything unusual, enjoying eggs, bacon, and toast in my case that was slightly different in that it was toasted raisin bread with cinnamon and sugar, a throw back to my youth and quite yummy. I liked that potatoes did not come automatically since I never eat them. Service was friendly though a bit slow.

Finally found a place that knows how to make eggs over medium. Good food, fast service, helpful friendly staff. Attentive servers. We came for breakfast, but would like to come back for lunch as well. cozy corner type location. I can see why people will wait for the breakfast.

WOW! searching for breakfast on Unilocal we found this hidden gem. A good home style breakfast is hard to find on the outer Cape, and now I know there is a great little place in Orleans. Good food done right, trust me.

My family enjoyed breakfast on a Sunday morning. The service was attentive and felt like a seasoned wait staff who cared. We noticed lots of locals and it lended to the family atmosphere. Our food was delicious and fresh. Good coffee too.

Cute, but somewhat outdated. Very much a local hole-in-the-wall type of spot. The food was OK, pretty traditional American diner options for breakfast. However, what may have been a 3-star review became a 2-star review by the way our waitress sent us off. It was a weekday morning, and probably only 3 of the 10 or so tables in the dining room were full. It was seat yourself, and so we grabbed a table by the window. I pulled an additional chair over to our table to hold my satchel, since the alternative was to put it on the floor. Since the restaurant was so quiet it clearly wasn’t a problem, and if traffic had picked up, of course I would have held my satchel and put the chair back at its original table. The waitress was fine — not great — the whole time, and right when she left the check, she told us: «Next time, please don’t pull a chair over. When the restaurant gets busy, I need the aisle clear.» To which my mother responded, «We’re just visiting, we won’t be back.» Why she would say that to us ‘just in case’ we ever came back, and why she chose to be inappropriate, confusing, and chose this ill-advised way to send off tourists, leaving a terribly bad taste in our mouths, is beyond me. It wasn’t necessary, and it spoiled the nice time we had had by being lectured about something we couldn’t go back in time and change. Needless to say, even if we lived around here, we wouldn’t be back. I wish we’d gone to Hole in One both days like I had originally suggested. Don’t waste your time here, there’s one of these in every town across America.

Loved the breakfast here! The breakfast wrap was so good with the sprouts in it!!! The waitress was so friendly and the service was pretty good! Prices were pretty decent too.

We had a great breakfast this morning. I posted photos to Foodspotting and will post them here, too. The Homeport is diner-style food, done well with fresh ingredients. The menu is creative, with old standbys and some innovations as well. The ambience was friendly and casual. The service was good, the coffee was good and non-stop. My wife really enjoyed her Texas French Toast with real maple syrup(it was indeed the real thing). I had a ham steak and the«CBC» hash, which is corned beef with cabbage and carrots hashed up and served hot from the griddle. They have real Coke, not Pepsi. The woman at the table beside ours had pancakes; they looked really good and she proclaimed them excellent. We’ll be back.

I admire a place that can be so strange from the outside, so non approachable, but have terrific b-fast. It is your average diner food, but it is consistent, the service always fast and friendly, and there is hardly ever a wait. I love it. It is my first stop for b-fast between eastham and brewster. you won’t think this is anything great, but it is a local fav and it is worth at least one try!

The waitstaff were friendly but the food was terrible. 4 of us. One eggs benedict plate. 2 combo(eggs, pancakes, sausage) and 1 corned beef hash. The eggs were all overcooked. Scrambled for the combos and poached for both the hash and benedict, all cooked and rubbery. The sausages were link style and dried out. They did manage to get the toast tasting normal abd the coffee was hot and the cokes were cold. The hash was watery and bland Fortunately Orleans has options.

So… We all know most business on the Cape is done in the summer months, right? Then, why would a restaurant manager or owner be OK with their staff keeping customers waiting while they chat it up with the locals, even sitting at the table with them? Food was good, freshly made and tasty. Portions are generous and a really good value, especially considering it’s the Cape. Service, on the other hand, was very lacking. We had to wait for everything, including the check. Wouldn’t recommend, except maybe off-season, or if you’re friends with the staff.

If you decide to go, leave yourself a good portion of the day to complete the meal. The European kid hosting reminded me of an incompetent substitute teacher that lost control of the class. Seemed like people that came after us were getting seated way before us. He also had no comprehension of time. Maybe it’s a cultural thing? Twenty minutes turned into forty five minutes. After getting seated, the waitress we had seemed just short of annoyed that we had the nerve to order breakfast. I’m guessing the wait staff was cooking the food as well as serving it because it took nearly thirty minutes to get served, and the waitress disappeared for long stretches of time. The food was decent but not worth the epic journey it took to finally eat.

Wow! What a bad experience. Place was packed so we took two open counter seats for lunch. My seat was crooked, so it turned me away from my wife’s seat about 10 degrees. Made for a uncomfortable seating. My wife asked the waitress what the soup and sandwich special was, her response was: «It’s on the chalk board.» She said she couldn’t read it from here. The waitress Olivia said: «it’s the top one.» My wife got up and walked across the room to read it. Apparently the server didn’t know what the lunch special was. We ordered and I went to wash up. I waited for the rest room to clear. The door opened and one the kitchen staff came out. As I washed my hands, I noticed the obligatory sign over the sink that said«employees must wash their hands before returning to work. «he hadn’t washed because the sink hadn’t been used, but the toilet had. Disturbing. When I went to dry my hands, the towel dispenser was not working. Back to the table with wet hands. My French Dip sandwich arrived, but my wife’s soup did not. I bit into the French Dip and it was cold. I mean refrigerator cold. I told the server. She headed off to the kitchen, then returned and said that’s the way we serve them. My wife’s clam chowder came. She was looking forward to a good NE Clam Chowder. She noticed on the wall that the restaurant had won an award for their chowder. She finally was served when I was almost finished with my food. You guessed it, no clam in the clam chowder. This was the worst restaurant experience I can ever remember having. I could go on, but the place isn’t worth any more time.

Croissant french toast??? YESPLEASE! — It was fabulous food, and we had a great waitress, and 5 big adult breakfast orders totaled just 60 bucks! The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars, is because it is just too tiny! Makes for a long wait, and a bit uncomfortable to walk through the place. This didn’t affect my star rating because one employee should not affect a whole review, but today there was the most over-zealous busboy who was also doubling as host. I had to rescue my tea and water from his grabby hands… I had put the mug down while signing the credit card receipt, and I blinked, and then suddenly my beverages were almost out of sight. Then, as I picked up my last piece of toast, my plate was whisked away. So I had to keep the crumbs off me and/or the table, using my napkin only. I think he had a conflict of interest by doubling as the host… he knew that people were waiting for the tables and that we were almost done, but I wanted my toast and tea!!! If I get to go to Cape Cod again, I’ll surely go back for the french toast!

Almost did not want to try it, I usually read reviews on Unilocal to decide where to go but when your out here the choices are limited. I may have eaten here over 20 years ago or so, stepping through the door took me back a few years. If you want a quite place this isn’t it, it is noisy cramped dining area. Not at all suited for big parties. There is a counter/bar to sit at if you don’t want to wait for a table. I stopped in for lunch I ordered a pastrami sandwich with Swiss cheese that was in my opinion perfect. Others were ordering breakfast, places like this give me hope. I

This is a tiny local diner. If you are coming with a party of more than 4, be prepared to wait. We had a group of 6 and our 15 min wait was more like 50. After we sat down it took the server another 10 min to take and bring us our drinks. It definitely wasn’t the quick breakfast we were looking for before getting on the road for 6 hours. However, the food was really good and a good value!

On our way home from the Cape, we decided to stop for a more filling breakfast than was available at our B&B. Without wanting to detour too much from the highway, this place looked like a good option. Our group of 5 was told it would be a 10 – 15 minute wait. After 20 minutes, we were told it would be «soon,» and after 45 minutes we finally got a table. If we weren’t starving by that point, we would have gone elsewhere. I could understand it if it were the high season, but this was in January. The food was good enough for the price, the service was spotty from minute 1, and overall it wasn’t worth the detour. You’re better off at the Dunkin’ Donuts across the street.

Best fries I’ve had recently, anywhere. Hot and delicious. A nice messy reuben… an ice tea… tax and tip… $ 12. I would have been happier if it was under $ 10 for lunch… still … the FRIES! And just accept up front you are going to get short brisk service from the biker-bar type waitresses… you’ve just got to consider it part of the place’s local charm. Err– lack of charm… but I got my food hot and quick, after the waitress noticed I was there.
