Fantastic find. Comfortable and inviting with a friendly staff. Trendy? Yes, however if creative food choices and unrushed good coffee is trendy then it is precisely what we need more of. I will be returning many times.

great egg great bacon both on greens Bloody Mary Verde interesting but not enough to order again. the pork belly & clam stew a little bit salty for my taste but an interesting dish none the less. also really rich for breakfast. would love it on a cooler night with some bread to mitigate the salt. a great alternative to standard Cape fare

Great ingredients, menu is arranged a little odd but overall a great place to get a breakfast made with fresh ingredients. Coffee is a excellent, they were serving counter culture beans at the time I was here. The menu is very keto friendly as well!

My new favorite place at the cape! Stopped here after reading several reviews on Unilocal. My friends and I enjoyed the easy going atmosphere, and the patience of the staff, as we attempted to order before having any coffee! Their food was artfully prepared and delicious. I felt a little left out getting frittata, while all of my friends enjoyed the breakfast sandwich. I almost went and got one but knew I would be to full to finish. I plan on getting that next time. A couple of us also shared some fresh scones :) coconut lime and lavender honey were the two featured that morning. Both excellent. I can’t decide which one I liked better. The one flaw I’d like to point out is the entrance is a little hard to find. The large sign is a giant O shaped birds nest, with a smaller«sunbird» sign underneath. It was a little hard to find while driving by, however it is definitely worth the search. If you’re in town it is definitely a place to check out!

Pour over coffee took forever and was watered down. Breakfast sandwiches are mostly bread and a lot a mayo. Fresh ingredients though.

Awesome ambiance, phenomenal food. We got: — Pork sandwich with egg(slow roasted pork shoulder, house pickled onions, citrus mayo, organic greens on ciabatta) — Farm egg frittata(ricotta brown butter, onions, red pepper coulis, local nettles and greens) — Quinoa porridge(coconut milk, pickled strawberries, pistachios, and dates) — Goji berry, turmeric, and ginger tea — Cappuccino(was a little astringent) We’ll be back!

Drive past dunkin donuts and keep going — do not pullover. Everything is great about this place and you are supports locals who support their community ! Food and service is stellar and their commitment to the environment with real dishes and compostable flatware is great ! Brunch on Sunday with a verde Bloody Mary that I must try next time

This was my first visit to the café. My only other experience was the food truck a couple of years prior. It was a quiet early season Sunday, so we were able to order right away and find some seats at a communal sitting area. I love the café. Great style, easy vibe and felt like a hometown spot. As we ate and drank we chatted up the other patrons with ease. We had coffee, some pastries and a breakfast sandwich. All of the food was tasty and artfully prepared. The breakfast sandwich has to be amongst the best found anywhere. None of this pre-portioned speed oven to-go food that passes at major coffee chains(Sbux, DD), this sandwich was obviously made to order. It put other breakfast sandwiches to shame. That said, it could be considered fancy or gourmet. So if you like simple, you might be better off at TD’s. As for me, this is my new favorite spot for this part of the world. I’d be hard pressed to go elsewhere unless word gets out and the line extends to p-town!

I apologize for not including a photo, because I’ll tell you, I just ate the most beautiful food I’ve ever tasted. Snap peas, lentils, and some kind of crazy smoked egg white vinaigrette? There were a couple of herbs in there to. So the flavor was coming from every direction. I could eat that meal every day for lunch for the rest of my life. Yum.

I like this place. The atmosphere and the baked goods are the main reason I come in. The reason this review is three stars is because every time I order a burger its under cooked. I don’t mind under cooked beef most of the time, even ground meat usually isn’t a problem for me, but usually the burger here is rare. It would be pretty easy to ask how done the customer wants their burger and wouldn’t be too difficult to add it into the computer. The other thing is that this is a 12 dollar item with no sides other than some pickle slices and a few slivers of pickled onion. Anywhere else in town you can get a burger and fries for that price. It’s a great place to get a cup of coffee and a chocolate chip cookie and sit and read a book. The menu is original, but expensive for the cape. This is probably because they use lots of local ingredients.

Definitely a great addition to Cape food and drink options. Love the vibe, intriguing combinations. A rye, salt brownie. Very rich and different. Everything was delicious like the early spring salad. Plus interesting cocktails and the usual espresso drinks. Check out the daily menus at their website. They don’t promise it will all be offered. But was accurate for our lunchtime visit.

A little bit of Greenwich Village and/or California vibe in Orleans… Even in the off-season this place is always buzzing – for good reason. Every thing I’ve tried here is super fresh, creative, and so tasty. The coffee drinks are well crafted, too. Love it!

God, I love this place. We were on a Coffee Crawl in search of the best coffee for my man and green tea lattes or chai, for me. We stopped in for their first day of brunch. How lucky. My man sampled the Stout and Stormy– Nitro Milk Stout, Jamaican Pot Still Gold Rum, lime juice, ginger syrup and Grenada Nutmeg. It was so good, and yes, I realize it is not coffee but it was too good for him to pass up. For food, he had the Boar’s Sausage Fingerling Potato Hash and I had a lime coconut scone and homemade real Chai,(not the boxed liquid version). The vibe continues to be cozy and chill with a congenial cast of character. Heaven in Orleans.

We had heard glowing reviews of the Sunbird café and food truck from friends so we decided to take a drive down 6a for the afternoon and get lunch. Wicked cute and relaxing atmosphere. The type of place that if you lived close by you would visit frequently. We split the burger, and shared the mint Oreo cookie dessert with two downeast cider cans. We also got 2 bird turds but we haven’t tried them yet– so I won’t review them :) The burger was delicious with dill pickles and pickled red onion. The temp was a bit rare for me(I never requested well done though so entirely my fault and my moms for putting the fear into me about the possibilities of ecoli) however– very delicious! We were so infatuated with the pickles that we requested more. We had the last one of the small batch creation but the chef sent out some pickled beets for us to try and came out to ask about them. The dessert was crumbly and the filling really really good Would love to visit again in the near future!

Sunbird Café is one of my favorite restaurants on Cape Cod. I walk in the door and I love the laid back California style, the artisanal and local foods that are incredibly creative, the quiet buzz and hang out atmosphere. I can’t shout out enough about this restaurant and feel so appreciative that they have opened in our community. Food: They have something for everyone. They make the best Kobe burger I ever had. The chai is excellent and worth just a quick stop if you can’t stay for lunch. The salads are always a work of art. The menu is ever changing.

Tucked away in a strip mall serving zero fried seafood, Sunbird doesn’t seem to be aimed at the summer Cape tourist trade. It’s really a coffeeshop that serves a few sandwiches and salads. I ordered the BLBeet, which is a BLT with thick sliced beets instead of tomato. It came with garlic mayo and was served on an excellent ciabatta-like roll. The bacon was incredible. The only real complaint I have is the price point, which is high, even for the Cape. The sandwiches aren’t big at all and will set you back about $ 10 so if you’re famished this might not be the best option. The café is a nice place to hang out, there’s lots of comfortable seating and they have a sort of modern Cape/farmhousey vibe going on. If you want coffee or a nice, light meal Sunbird is a great spot.

We’ve been going to the Cape for years. And it’s been years since I honestly found a new place that wowed me enough to bring me back again & again. Sunbird is that good. The décor & setup inside… amazing, airy, comfortable. Free wifi. Love love love the big table. The coffee… get a pour-over, wait for it, drink it there in a mug… right up there with the best coffee I’ve ever had. We also tried mochas which were expertly made… not too sweet, perfect espresso, nice shake of cinnamon. They know their coffee. Tea looks amazing too… but I fell hook, line & sinker for the coffee this time. The food… perfect. Fresh. Delicious. Innovative. The fall salad with a perfectly cooked egg & slab bacon. Absolutely a bowl of heaven. The breakfast sandwich on an amazing ciabatta roll. The banana bread French toast with maple syrup & bacon. The quinoa porridge with coconut milk, pistachios, lime zest & mint… incredible. Hoping to replicate this week at home. The baked goods. Everything. Wow. Employees…friendly, helpful, welcoming. They’ve got it all… can’t wait to revisit & also hit up their food truck in Wellfleet in season.

I love stopping by this place after Saturday yoga class. Limited menu items but excellent and very fresh food. Great coffee drinks and chai tea latte. Great hip place. Their sandwiches are yummy. My favorite breakfast is the Quinoa Porridge. For lunch I love their Summer Salad.

Let’s start by presenting my bias– I want to live here. It seems like the place you can bring a book and stay for hours. *hard to find, in a shopping center with Orleans Yoga. Atmosphere– welcoming hipster vibe. It’s a large store with ample seating. The staff are friendly, outgoing, and full of suggestions. Eats– the iced coffee is cold-brewed and I cut mine with half decaf iced coffee, which they don’t always have. The coffee has a nice dark flavor with slight sweetness and citrus undertones. A little almond milk, and it’s perfect. Agave and other milks are available. There are delicious and creative-sounding sweet and savory treats with an emphasis on vegetarian and gluten-free. The pistachio cookie sandwich filled with chocolate ganache(lemon filling also offered) is the size of an ice cream sandwich. It’s not overly sweet but decedent and rich.
