We love Fancy Sushi!
This place is a gem, and they have fantastic food! My fiancée and I love their sushi, and I absolutely love their fried rice. Their food is always so clean and fresh! Right off the bat, the sushi chef prepares you a free sample of the holiday roll, and it’s always amazing. They also give you free onion soup while you’re looking over the menu! The staff is always so polite, the prices are just right, and the environment is peaceful, all in all giving us an enjoyable visit every time.

*This review is based on years past. I haven’t eaten there in over 2 years so I do not know if it still stands true but I assume it does due to the character of the owners.
I love the owners, They are wonderful people who work very hard to make everyone happy and deserve success.
This is the best «sushi» you can find in a non-​Japanese joint. Again it is not lead by Japanese and it’s not authentic Japanese presentations but the service and the efforts in making great food make it a good experience for people who look to enjoy a good tasty more American oriented sushi style.
I would give it 3 out of 5 stars based on the overall level of the sushi, but because of the service that is SUPERB and the many dishes that are very good quality, they get 4 stars.

Food was definitely not fresh. Salmon was dry and definitely was frozen, not fresh. Service was okay, not great.

As soon as you sit down they bring you the best homemade miso soup I have ever tasted and a tasty holiday roll. We ordered a few rolls including the dynamite roll. It was amazing! I have never had a piece of sushi that big before. We also shared the teriyaki tofu. I wasn’t too sure about this choice, but when it came out I couldn’t wait to taste it. Nothing like what I expected (the tofu is lightly fried in a tempura sauce on top of a bed of teriyaki veggies), but it was absolutely delicious! I would definitely come back here and recommend it to anyone in the area. This is not a chain, but rather a tiny family owned place. The service is very friendly and prompt. They really care about your experience.

Small, quiet restaurant with nice, courteous waitstaff! This place is perfect for a low key evening out with great sushi. (Or hibachi style Japanese)
We’ve gone about five times and each time has been a very pleasant experience. The sushi is always fresh and they have always started us out with a complimentary appetizer. The atmosphere is nice enough, dimmed lights but not too dark, a tv on the wall is muted and usually playing sports (nfl football our last trip) and the tables are spaced far enough apart for privacy.
We always leave full and feeling like we’ve gotten a good value. Highly recommend Fancy Sushi!

The sashimi portions were big and they start your experience with a free soup and small roll

My whole family has been back to this location many times since my first review when they opened in 2011. Always good sushi and great service. There was a period that is became so busy that we stopped going since the waits were getting crazy but it all depends on the time and day you go. The Sushi chef is always happy and greets you when you walk in from across the restaurant. The saki is also a good price and served in a great two part bottle to keep cold saki cold. When we are in the mood for Sushi on this side of town we stop here.

I still feel pretty much feel just alright with the food but I do love the service staff and everyone but me is always really pleased with their food so I’m adjusting the stars rating.

A great sushi place.
They make great sushi!!! We don’t need the menu every time when we go there, we just tell the chef, which is the owner of the restaurant what we want in our sushi rolls. Then he’ll make special rolls for us.
Servers are very friendly.
Anyway, this is the place I definitely recommend to have sushi!!!

I just moved to the beach but was on the West side of town. Stumbled upon this place. GREAT sushi! I’ll be back. Worth the drive. They gave me miso soup and a crab appetizer on the house which was a nice surprise.

Passing through the area and craved sushi. Decided on this spot because of their high reviews. Wow, what a treat! Friendly staff and chef and the fish was melt in your mouth fresh. I ordered Chirashi and hubby ordered sashimi. This is our new go to place when passing through.

Great stop for the weary traveler. We were on a road trip to tour places for our wedding venue and needed some food! Not bad sushi at all. Not the best we’ve had, but rolls were very tasty and well prepared. We decided to stick with cooked rolls as we didn’t know how fresh the raw fish would be. Overall, we would recommend trying it. Super friendly staff and the complimentary soup and holiday roll were great. Got the Rock N Roll and the Crunchy roll.

Sushi is ok…
False advertising though! They claimed to deliver but after placing my order online I called to ask when my food would be delivered? They said they actually don’t and I have to pick it up

I think I am sushi spoiled. Everything was kinda bland. I just moved to ormond beach and am in desperate need of a
GREAT sushi place. HELP!!!

This is a sushi place to visit, for sure.
The only reason I’m taking off a star is because I took advantage of their online ordering system, which was confusing to use, and when I showed up at the restaurant 30 minutes later, my order was sitting in their printer and I had to wait another 25 minutes for it to be made, and all I was offered was an apology. It’s not a huge deal, but enough that it was a big delay for dinner.
What they do well: Sushi. It’s gorgeous, it’s delicious, it’s well presented, the portions are great and the way the plates are decorated, and even the to-​go food is beyond beautiful.
The staff are very attentive and accomodating, the bathrooms are immaculate and the dining room was packed full on a Monday evening. If a restaurant is busy then, you know they’re popular.
We ordered some of the spiciest rolls they had, and they absolutely delivered. I also tried out the hibachi, but the hoisin they used on the noodles and meat was lacking flavor. Maybe I should have asked for more, but that’s just my observation.
All in all, I’d absolutely return here, and would recommend anyone considering it to give them a shot.

Great service, great food! And their lunch special is great! I usually order to-​go, and for $ 8 (before tip), I get some chicken or pork katsu with grilled veggies, fried rice, soup and salad. Everything is made fresh and I have never had any issues.

Sweet heart roll amazing taste profiles. Next up is the big ocean roll. Highly recommended. Ok yall 2 for 2. outstanding second roll. King ocean also amazing. Staff to match. this place will be here for a long time.

Very good and reasonably priced. Excellent attentive servers. The complimentary onion soup and crab appetizer were a pleasant surprise. We had a volcano roll with conch and the teriyaki snapper lunch special. The snapper was perfectly cooked and served on a bed of all dente zucchini, carrot, onion.

Visited on New Years day sadly they were caught off guard with the volume of customers and had insufficient staff and sushi chefs for the volume so it took almost an hour to get our food. In their defense they explained the situation, apologized MANY times, brought us free Edamame, Sake and a crab appetizer so all was forgiven!
We were their with a friend we had not seen in a long time so the extra time was actually appreciated as we got to catch up and did not feel rushed off.
Staff is very nice and happy to be of assistance.
Food was well prepared and was very tasty and we will be back, hopefully when they are staffed appropriately. :)
