Great seafood! For a guy from the Midwest I greatly appreciated the fresh rock shrimp platter. Amazing cocktail sauce and the side dishes were very good. The service was a bit on the slow side for a place with walk up service. Outdoor Seating in front and back and also inside.

Loved this joint! LOTS of seating. The only downfall is that it’s counter order and then they bring it to your table. But that wasn’t enough of a big deal to me to not give them a 5. We sat out back, but there is a fairly large dining area inside, and then in the front facing Granada is a bar top with lots of stools so you can watch the world go by.

Great seafood market & restaurant. Indoor and outdoor dining areas. Hubby had the NE clam chowder which he enjoyed with calamari. Large portion size for the calamari. I Had the king fish taco which came with black beans and rice and seafood gumbo, very good. Ate in outside area which was adequate. Bathrooms needed attention.

Simply put, I feel this place is overrated. The food is good, but not great and certainly not stand in line for 15 – 20 minutes great! Maybe it’s because when I’m in a beach town, my seafood expectations go waaaay up. Maybe it’s because they have a fresh seafood market next door that reminds me of some of my favorite places to get fried shrimp like DiCola’s in Chicago, Jackie’s in Savannah and Shrimp Express in Calumet City. Either way, Hull seafood just didn’t do it for me(or my taste buds). —– THESCENE We arrived in Ormond Beach during dinner hours and I was immediately drawn to Hull because of the fresh seafood market and because of the line! My mind tells me a line of people waiting anxiously means there is good food lurking inside, but my Unilocal experience has shown me that is not always the case! After waiting about 10 minutes and the line not really moving, I decided to come back the next day for lunch instead. We couldn’t wait to give them a try after reading several reviews and after a disappointing meal @ the local Steak n’ Shake. Here is what we ordered: —– THEFOOD CRACKEDCONCH(2.95 stars) | $ 8.99 appetizer One of my favorite seafood’s is Cracked Conch. Whenever we are on a cruise(particularly to the Bahamas) it is the only thing I order! Unfortunately, I found the conch here to be flavorless and chewy. I was so disappointed that I felt like banging my head on the table. I was having an unbelievably hard time finding a place I really enjoyed while visiting not just Ormond Beach, but Florida in general. At this point we had already spent a week in Tampa and several days in Deltona/Orlando/Orange City. FRIEDSHRIMP(3.5 stars) | $ 16.99 platter + ½ pound for $ 11 Again our expectations were not met. The shrimp looked and smelled amazing, however, the favor was only average. It is times like this when I wish I didn’t already know what great shrimp tastes like because I would’ve probably loved these otherwise. I could’ve also forgiven the lack of flavor if this was some little country dive on the side of the road somewhere because the shrimp seemed very fresh. But practically being on the beach raises my taste expectations. They should know how to season shrimp better than anyone, right? CRABCAKESANDWICH(2.5 stars) | $ 11.99 + $ 1 for clam chowder side substitute Have you ever had a crab cake that didn’t taste like crab? Of all the food we tried today, this was to one that disappointed the most. It was like eating bacon that doesn’t taste like bacon. SIDES — French fries had a burnt oil taste(1 star) — Corn on the cob was nothing special(3 stars) — Clam chowder tasted more like a potato chowder(3 stars) — Smoked fish spread(free sample) was DELICIOUS!(4.5 stars) — Cole slaw(free sample) was also delicious(4 stars) — Remoulade sauce(2 stars) —– THEVERDICT Don’t believe the hype! It’s not that the food is bad, it’s just that I’ve had better… way better considering it wasn’t cheap. In total, I paid $ 52 for a lunch shared between me and my two young sons. Sadly the best thing I tasted was a promotion item given as a free sample while I waited in line. 2016⁄35

I’d hate to leave a bad review considering everyone writes such good things about this place. Visiting family from out of town and they recommended this place. I got the broil platter for $ 30, thought it was a little pricey but that’s just me. Well the food was decent, lacking some salt and fish and lobster were over cooked. All was good until i saw two baby roaches crawling on the walls. Now, I’m not one to make up things to bash a restaurant but 30 min once I’ve came back home and I’m going to the restroom. Tummy rumbling and constantly going to the bathroom, not vomiting but… You know. Coincidence? I don’t think so. I think they need to do some good cleaning there.

Hulls has EXCEPTIONAL quality food. I ordered wahoo and hush puppies for dinner last night and the fish was very fresh and hush puppies were fried to perfection. I order to go once in a while and it is always worth the wait and cost. The fresh seafood market also has some incredible choices. I will always keep this as one of my go to places.

Before moving to the Daytona area I always made sure to visit Hulls when in town. They have the freshest seafood around. Add in Hush puppies and top it off with some Key lime pie. If you want to take food and prepare it at home they have a market next door.

I have eaten her twice during a recent visit to the area. All kinds of great local fresh Seafood, and several great selections with plenty of sides to choose from for your meal. Plus lots of Dinner Special on the board. The first night I had the Clam Chowder which was more creamer than the northern version. For Dinner it was the Fish and Chips special which was Fried Haddock, Fries with Hushpuppies. You have your choice of Cocktail Sauce or Tartar Sauce. If you like it hot and spicy the Cocktail sauce was the way to go. Plenty of Horseradish to clear the sinus’s. Dinner the 2nd night was the Rock Shrimp Fries. Very lobster tasting and good perfect with some all spice seasoning. Dining inside you order at the counter and they deliver it to your table. Decent size dining area with several 2 top and 4 tops and some 6 top tables. The also have an outside dining area right in front that sits in the parking lot. Dinner onsite or to go a really great Seafood Market!

Out sightseeing and ducked into this place. We ordered the blue crab gumbo and the fish and chips. Both dished were delicious. The staff was courteous. Recommend!

Love this place. Get the blackened anything and it’s a guaranteed win. Hush puppies are the best I’ve had and their house roumalade is killer. I enjoy the no frills places. This place does it right.

Holy shit this place is amazing. I’m from Santa Cruz and a major snob when it comes to fresh seafood. I bought quite possibly the best Mahi Mahi fillet I’ve ever seen in my life here last week. It was bright and smelled good and very competitively priced. If I lived over here I would definitely make frequent visits to this fish market.

If I lived here, I would eat here every week. The food is just that good. You go in, place your order at the counter to the left, grab your number and take a seat in the smallish dining room. There is definitely a light fishy smell in the air, so be prepared. The woman behind the counter was super helpful in describing how to order, what came with platters, what came with sandwiches, etc. Everything is cooked to order, and then they bring the food out to your table as it is ready. I had the rock shrimp platter for lunch and it was excellent. Already peeled and spiced for me. Cooked perfectly. My sides were the blue crab soup and onion rings. The soup was served hot, had a good amount of spice in it, and lots of crab. It was excellent. The onion rings too were awesome: crunchy and not too greasy. Every platter comes with two delicious hush puppies. Next time I go I want to try the blackened grouper — my boyfriend had that and the slab of grouper was ginourmous and also perfectly cooked. Hull’s is not cheap — so if you want a dive where everything tastes like the fried food batter but is under $ 10, this place is not for you! Totally worth it though — because the quality of the food was really top notch. Can’t wait to go back!

I would only come here for steamed blue crabs. Anywhere else I have tried is not good enough. And their seafood platter with catch of the day is so delicious. The fried oysters are so fresh!!! You know a place is worth every penny if old couples come again and again for their food. They also have outside seating for the ones who loves the Florida sun. The fish market also has amazing choices. Amazing service too!

Hull’s is both a seafood retail shop(what they simply call a «seller» in many parts of the South) and a restaurant with dine-in or take-away food. The emphasis either way is of course boat-fresh seafood. The interior of the restaurant is a bit awkward in design, running in a long«L» shape with the counter where you order over to the left, the dining room to the right, and outdoor dining areas both in front and back of the building. It’s clean and tidy though and in the ordering area they have the everyday items listed up on a board plus, on a smaller board to the left if facing the counter, the specials of the day. Don’t miss this board! The specials are the freshest fish, the catch that has just come in and most often do not overlap the normal menu offerings: they had snapper, rock shrimp, lion fish, and a variety of other special catches of the day when I was there. While I ordered the snapper, many people were clamoring to order the rock shrimp and someone had the lion fish and was raving about it, too. Look, if you’re in Florida and hope to try exotic, local, seafood, this is what it’s all about, so order something aside from the standards you’d find anywhere. My snapper I had blackened and from the vast array of daily sides to choose from, I selected blue crab gumbo and a rice pilaf. Dinner plates come with the choice of two sides plus hush puppies. Everything came up pretty fast, was brought out to my table, and was delicious. The snapper I probably should have ordered broiled instead of blackened to allow more of the flavor to come through, but it was still quite good. The rice pilaf was fine, the hush puppies nearly perfect in terms both of composition and frying, and the blue crab gumbo, while not a traditional Louisiana gumbo was all the same awesome. The portions were a bit small, however: for the price of the snapper dinner(around $ 14 I think) it wasn’t a bad deal but with things like yellowfin tuna going for about $ 20 for a dinner plate, the sizes could be a wee bit bigger I feel. Regardless, the quality of the fish – and everything else – coming out of the kitchen plus such prompt service including the speed in getting the food out to the table certainly earn Hull’s five stars. It’s exactly the type of no-frills but fresh and high-quality seafood you’d expect in a coastal region.

Oh wow. I totally forgot to write this review, but it is much needed as this was the best seafood I have ever had. Period. Delicious fresh caught seafood with fantastically fresh sides. What I loved is that their specials were from what their boat caught that day. You can’t get any fresher than that. The line is long and intimidating, but don’t let it, as it goes a lot faster than you would think. The place is packed, always, but again, just wait it out and don’t leave! The prices are fair and you’re not going to break the bank, just your pants button, because the portions are generous. Places like this make me hate that I live in the Midwest. If you’re reading this review and debating«hmm should I go here?» smack yourself and go get some Hull’s!

Stopped in to Hulls to buy some fresh local seafood to cook in one night at our condo. The have a large selection. Prices are fair not cheap but not shy high for it’s quality. I noticed they had a Resturant next door so I stopped over there and ordered some steamed shrimp and boy was it awesome.

There are not many options for fresh seafood in Daytona for some reason. The food is subpar but the seafood is delicious. The shark in the shark tacos was so good but the tacos were covered in shredded cheese and iceberg lettuce. Average food — great seafood. The conch fritters are tasty but not a lot of meat. The blackened seasoning lacks salt but it’s still good. Sit outside — don’t sit indoors next to the market because it smells like fish.
