The food is good and very Israeli. I have had better brisket however everything else was superb. The grocery store that is attached is a must to visit. If you need Havdalah candles, schug and other Israeli delights this is the place to buy these items. 02/22/2016 Since the previous review I’ve eaten here again. I ordered the mushroom and barley soup, schwarma with jasmine rice and beans, hot pita bread and Turkish coffee. Wow! This place gets better and better. So friendly and warm good people not to mention the great grocery store that is attached. All so yummie. Thanks for another great experience. I hope to be back soon.

Had lunch and found the pastrami sandwich short on meat and way overpriced. In addition, condiments were provided halfway through the meal, and the fries ere served after the sandwiches had been finished. I would not recommend.

This is one of my favorite places for Schwarma. The food and service is very Israeli and from the other reviews I am guessing the reviewers do not have a lot of travel experience. If you are not used to Israeli style service I could see how you would think this isn’t a great place. But if you want some of the best schwarma in the US and a place to sit and talk with friends for hours this is the place for you.

GREASY. I ordered 2 Shawarma sandwiches. The flavor was okay, but the food was very fatty. Oil was dripping out of the bottom of the wrap and pooling on the plate. I informed one of the waitresses there, pointing at the pool of oil and stating this is unacceptable and ruins the flavor. She looked at it, kind of shrugged and said — it is what it is, I ordered a Shawarma. Hate to break it to you, but nobody wants to eat a sandwich with half a cup of oil poured into it. That’s rather disgusting. Overall, I don’t plan on returning because of my experience.

I guess the restaurant and the shop/deli are together in this review. I ate at the Jerusalem Grill and stopped by the store to see what was in here. I’ve never been to Israel, but if I had I imagine that I would have found many of my long lost treats in this place. This place is for Israel what an Oriental Grocer is for China or Japan. Which is really cool in my opinion because though I’ve never been there, they probably have some great things that I’d love to try… but not this trip. And(mega-bonus for me) it was open on Christmas and otherwise I wouldn’t have made it in here(I came Friday afternoon my first time and they close early on Friday for the Jew thing). They seemed well stocked and friendly and the prices were reasonable considering that it’s all import goods. The Jerusalem Grill was a nice place to eat and sample a wide variety of Jewish and Israeli cookery. I had matzo ball soup, a latke, some mango drink, a shwarma in pita, and some baklava which were great, the best, okay, very good, and kinda blah respectively. Overall it was a good place with good food and I’d come back again… even if it weren’t Christmas and they were the only place open. If I still lived in the area I’d come here whenever I was in the mood for latke.

The folks who work here don’t seem to give a damn about the restaurant, the food or its customers. The place is dirty — and what is worse, there was a dish of stuffed grape leaves containing mold in the glass case. The pasteries looked like they had been there for months. Honestly, I would be afraid to eat here.
