Nice spot, good views. So-so burgers, alright beer. TALKSLOW, the staff gets very confused, very easily. Got the wrong beer, drank it anyway. 20 minutes to order, 20 more for a bill, and another 20 to get your card back. Plan accordingly.

Ouray Brewery is a local favorite. We have eaten here at least once each trip to Ouray. Our favorites include the Southwestern Burger and the Pulled Pork Sandwich. The beers are pretty good. Not game changers, but usually something tasty. Tonight we got the CYA Double IPA. We also enjoyed the Imperial Stout that we had a few weeks ago. Very yummy! Whenever in Ouray, this is a safe bet. Tonight, our waitress was Mollie and she’s a gem! Thanks for the beta.

The restaurant caught my eye since it seemed to be popular on an otherwise quiet night. The staff was friendly when I could get there attention. I ordered a blue cheese burger with fries and a brown ale. The beer was great, the burger was okay, but the fries came out completely cold. Not once did a waiter/waitress come and ask me how my meal was– I wanted to send back the fries. I eventually gave up and let the busboy take my basket after finishing the burger. It took another 10 minutes for someone to bring me my bill(after two requests). Seems like it could be a great place but some of the basics could be improved upon.

Great environment. Good food. Not the best but the service was lovely and the environment was excellent. I have celiac and while they have gluten free options there were not a lot. I would’ve enjoyed it more if I didn’t have an auto immune disease. It’s worth the visit. We ate there twice.

We stopped in here with a party of 9 after a long day of play in the mountains. They sat us right away and served us refreshing, quality brew and some yummy bar food. The bar on the main level was awesome! There were about 4 swings for bargoers to sit on instead of stools. They also had a bar on the second level that overlooked the brewery. We all loved it and will revisit the next time we are in Ouray.

Checked out Ouray during a pit stop en route from Telluride to Durango. Walked Main Street and did a little window shopping first to get a feel for the town(it’s pretty cute and pretty tiny) before deciding to hit up the brewery for a bite and a beer. Unfortunately for us, everyone else had the same idea, so there were no seats left indoors or in the shade on the large rooftop patio. And since it was a rare 80 degrees in almost October day, I needed shade. So we headed out, grabbed a sandwich down the road, and came back to try some beer. The space is great and has three floors of seating options, though during our visit the middle floor was sectioned off for what I imagine was crowd management. I think the chairs hanging from cables in the bar area were my favorite feature. Unique idea. Upon our return, the masses had exited and we were able to find shaded seats outside on the rooftop. We ordered and paid at the counter, then sipped our beers while taking in the views, which were seriously killer. It was hard to leave. The beers were good. Would have liked to have sampled more but we had a lot of ground to cover on our drive. Cannot comment on the food, though it seemed they were a little overwhelmed by the crowds when we first arrived. I did like that Ouray Brewery is a family run establishment. Dad was greeting the arrivals and directing traffic, mom was helping behind the bar and kids were carrying the food up and down the flights of stairs from the main floor kitchen(smart parents). All in all a great little place for a brew that should be included on any stop in town, if for the view alone.

The only good thing about this place is the roof top view. We sat upstairs mainly for the view but decided to order some beers and food. We tried the Red Ale Beer, it was fine but nothing special. Also ordered a Pulled Pork Sandwich and the Ribs. DISGUSTING. It was straight off the Sysco food truck at best and both served luke warm. Very expensive for the quality ~$ 12 each with no fries. Served with a bag of chips. Go for the view… but DONOTEATHERE!

Would give 3 ½ stars if I could. Came off the trail from the summit starving, so we were glad they were serving food at 4:27pm. Nice cashier at top level… food took a while to come out – 20+ minutes for a salad, appetizer, soup and garden burger. The food was okay, nothing really special. The smoked trout dip made me feel ugh after an hour or so. :( But the beer was good and the upper level is cool because you have a great view of town. Love the town – very quaint, small town America!

Both their pale ale and IPA were very good and their Scott was ok. However, their stout was particularly yummy and I ordered one all three nights I was in Ouray. Very rich and creamy. I also liked their Red. The place also has really cool decorating with swinging bar stools and swirly orange light fixtures over the bar. Service was friendly. Too bad they close so early each night!

Nice little brewery in the heart of Ouray! We stopped in for a late dinner one night on our way back from the Durango & Silverton train. Comfortable atmosphere, friendly service, good beer and decent food. We tried the ribs, a salad, the cheesy broccoli soup, and the bratwurst.

We stopped by at 8:50 on a Saturday night and was told at the door«we close in 10 minutes, you can order your food now, get it and get out» yes his exact words. They had quite a few full tables and many at the bar(locals). Never again will I stop there.

The views from the patio are spectacular here, but not anything else. We had to go to a counter to order drinks and food. The red headed counter girl was rude and made us feel rushed. We ordered burgers and a beer each. She collected our payment and shoved a couple bags of potato chips towards us. Later, our burgers were delivered in paper baskets with no condiments. They were burned and dry. We choked them down and vowed never to eat here again

Roof top dining with serve yourself drink & food. Food was okay — not real impressed especially since it took 45 minutes for our food & it was mediocre at best. There were 5 of us and two of us ordered salads(buffalo chicken salad) &2 of us ordered the wraps & one burger… so should of taken 15 minutes top! Upside of this place is that it has some good beer.

Nice rooftop setting. The view is amazing. We had beautiful weather to enjoy this. The food is rather ordinary, a decent burger matched to their brewed beer. Not a tourist trap; just a nice sudsy lair.

Good Service, great views from roof top dining area, good food. Had the best Pale Ale That I ever had. The Bluegrass Pale is a must try. I sure hope that they can keep Pacey as Brewmaster.

The rooftop patio was what made me come. And because it was a local brewery. Had the veggie burger add bacon and swiss. The waitress/bartender got a kick out of that. It’s my standard out of town order. It starts conversation. The view of historic Ouray from the patio was splendid. The patio was a perfect staging point to plan local adventure. I left with two growlette’s of Carson’s Chocolate Stout. No complaints. Beautiful location. Great atmosphere and friendly people. The beverage to go helped rejuvenate later in the day. Stop by. You’ll be glad you did.

The Ouray Brewery’s greatest asset is their location combined with the view from their rooftop patio. Beyond that, the beers that we tried were mediocre — not bad, but not memorable. A look at the menu revealed the food to be overpriced for basic pubfare. After being told they don’t do flights on the rooftop patio(Not sure if they do inside?), we had a couple of pints to reward ourselves after a challenging hike while taking in the view of Ouray and then left.

Yay I am totally a fan of Ouray Brewery. Especially the Buffalo Wings. They aren’t your typical fried wings covered in bottled wing sauce they are floral, flavorful masterpieces that any chicken would be glad to give his right wing to be a part of. I enjoyed all the beers I had, none of them knocked me over as amazing but there wasn’t a single one I didn’t like. I do think they were stronger then their color or taste lead me to believe as I had a good buzz after drinking there both times. The Brown was by far my favorite. We were in town on the slowest most understaffed time of year for them so I don’t think I can review the service fairly. I would like to come back in my snow gear or the summer and take in a brew from on the patio. If you are in Ouray you might as well pop in and try it out, I know«ow ow my arm, stop twisting it!» Enjoy!

I’m really jealous of this brewery. Making beer/food in this beautiful mountain village sounds like heaven to me. I really enjoyed myself at the restaurant and thought the beer was great. My favorites were the Mountainbock and Kayle’s Scottish Ale. The beer was tremendously fresh and refreshing after a local hike, and we ended up getting some growlers to go so we could enjoy it later at the cabin. Surprisingly, the growler prices were extremely fair. The food was good. It wasn’t fabulous or amazing, but it was good. Consider the scenario… We were on a rooftop bar overlooking the San Juan Mountains with a fresh pint of local beer in hand, breathing in fresh mountain air and enjoying perfect temperatures. The food was simply sustenance; we came for the beer, atmosphere and view. That being said, they had some gluten free options for Kendall S., which was the most pleasant of surprises for a village nestled in the mountains. Cider choices were also available, although anyone not diseased would be crazy not to at least try the beer. Overall a definite must-stop for anyone wandering around or near Ouray. The beer is wonderful, the scene and climate(in the summer) is perfect, and the staff were nice.

If for some reason I ever happened to live in the tiny and lovely city of Ouray, I’d quickly become a regular at this fantastic brewery and restaurant. It’s in such a great location(are there any bad locations here?), and they have a stellar ambiance both downstairs in their bar and upstairs on the incredible rooftop patio. The downstairs bar is small, but they’ve turned ski lift seats into hanging, swinging bar seats. What could be better than that?! It’s a creative but obvious solution to bar seating in a mountain town. There aren’t many spots and I never got to try one out because we had such a big group, but I’LLBEBACK. It may seem silly, but it’s on my bucket list. The main interior of the restaurant is a bit cramped and run down; narrow walk ways and lots of small rooms, but luckily we kept going up the stairs until we made it to the rooftop patio. There’s a bar up there and they also serve their entire menu, so I 100% recommend enjoying the patio space. You’ve got great views of the town and mountains in the background in every direction. I can’t drink beer so I have little to say about the brewery aspect of this place, unfortunately. I do know that everyone I was with enjoyed their brews, and it’s always fun to have a craft beverage in the very space it was created. I myself was thankful for the Snow Capped Cider they had on the menu. I tried the 6130′ Blend which was good, but a little too sweetsy-vanilla-y for my taste. I definitely preferred the North 40 which had a more classic apple flavor. The menu at Ouray Brewery is surprisingly diverse. It’s mostly burgers and sandwiches, but they also have baked potatoes, ribs, some great salads, a few seafood and chicken dishes, and the antipasta skewers that I excitedly ordered. Two long skewers packed with mozzarella, tomatoes, peppers, and huge chunks of salami. Perfection!
