Really wanted to try this place out but I waited 15mins just talk to the hostess then waited another 15−20mins for a waiter until we had enough and just left. Either they need to hire more staff or get better customer service. Long story story don’t come here for quick service! Very disappointed I couldn’t even try this place out.

Giving it 3 stars because the service was excellent. We made a reservation and were seated within minutes upon arrival. The décor is very nice and the restaurant is very large so I can see why reservations were highly recommended. I’ve been to other sushi spots within the east Orlando area and this was by far the priciest. We tried the KFC wings, Pork Belly Tacos, Octopus(grilled), Mofo Roll and Shrimp Tempura rolls. The KFC wings were the bomb! The other stuff was alright, I’ve had better for cheaper. Not at the top of my list for go to sushi spots but would return for the wings and great service.

The KFC(Korean fried chicken) is a must! These chicken wings have great flavors and has a nice crispness. The sushi is delicious, well-made and fresh. The atmosphere is really nice too. The wait staff was really nice and had great recommendations.

I have been going here to sushi pop since it opened. All the food is excellent, sushi and otherwise. The fish is of the highest quality and the preparation is top notch. I routinely get the sushi sashimi platter but i have tried most of the rolls and and several stand out, the ceviche roll and the red eye are some od my favorites. There are daily specials that are always fantastic and innovative. The service is always friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Hands down the best sushi in greater Orlando.

The theme is a little odd and the pricing is a bit steep but defiantly worth checking out at least once. They have traditional rolls with their own twists. Don’t leave without trying the coconut shrimp roll. This place is definitely one of a kind.

I loved this place! The ambience, creative décor, lighting, it all gave sushi pop a very warm yet trendy vibe. Lots of seating. The staff was super accommodating, asking us preference of seats. Danielle, our server did an exceptional job of explaining the menu and giving me ideas of unique things to try. I ordered the porcini tuna, but unfortunately they had run out of it, so I ordered the chefs choice(do not recall the full name) of sashimi. It came out as a beautiful presentation. Danielle described each piece to me. It was wonderful! I also had the seaweed salad, which was delicious. My daughter enjoyed her salad and her triple tail roll. She had fun with her Japanese soda as well. She ordered the fennel cake with orange sorbet and almond anglaise. I tasted a bite, heavenly! This place delivers on its promises. Everything was super good! The service was excellent. We will be back.

Sushi Pop is an awesome restaurant, and the best in Oviedo and Winter Springs combined. They not only serve excellent sushi, they also serve excellent non-fish dishes. KFC wings, steak and fries, french-inspired mushroom dish, and another one or two I can’t think of. KFC wings are so good, manners out the window, I lick the sauce from every finger. We were able to order a side of the fries, without the steak, OHMYWORD! D-LICIOUS! Thanks to my friend Varsha for recommending these.

Singularly capturing complex, layered flavors, attention to detail, impeccable presentation, high quality seafood and ingredients. Chef Chau deserves the«Chef of the Year» title. Throw in attentive and thoughtful service, Sushi Pop is One of the Finest Restaurants in CFL hands down. Enough said — make your reservations people!

This was already my favorite place to enjoy sushi and then they upped the ante! We had not been in about 10 months bc its not close to us. While we were gone they doubled their size. They bought the space next door and added an elegant bar and an additional lovely upscale seating are perfect for dates. What does this mean to you? less chance of a wait and lots more choices on your atmosphere, sushi bar, cocktail bar, lux or animé… they’ve got it all! We started with unique cocktails. I had their bottled craft cocktail, dark and stormy. This was no average goslings rum and ginger beer. It was so had 2 rums and velvet falernum with fresh lime and came in a darling bottle. You then poured it into your glass of ginger beer. Hubby had the legendary Nikka japanese whiskey served over a nice big block of ice. They have an amazing selection of hard to find japanese whiskey. While perusing we ordered the truffle edamame… the only way to ever have edamame ever again. So where it gets hazy. Anything the server said to get we did. So we had a great hamachi app, 2 amazing hot apps, 3 rolls and one more cold app at the end. All of the choices were amazing. The cold apps are where they really shine. Light and elegant and always interesting. Much like the sushi, we had to be rolled out! We sat at the sushii bar in seat one and two so we got to see all the action. We had amazing service from our server, great laughs with the manager and chit chat from the executive chef who was working expo. We chatted with the sushi guys and they give you an option on the menu to buy the kitchen a round of beer for ten bucks. We were all in. What an amazing experience again.

1st visit for us! Celebrating wifey’s surprise dinner, we were party of 6… Upon arrival, we were sat promptly, Cody was our server. Cody made sure we were informed of all the menu specials, took Gr8 care of us throughout our whole time there. Cody even helped take some pics after dinner too. We all chose Sushi & everything looked Gr8& tasted wonderfully delicious! Cool style & ambiance here! All a bit pricey, but u can definitely taste the quality!!! We will definitely be back, for our next special occasion!

Neat and trendy ambiance. The waitress was great. I really loved the décor. The menu has unconventional items. Amazing food and drink options. The KFC and ceviche roll do not disappoint! Highly recommend this place! Great with friends. Nice to know this side of town has cool places like such.

I went here with my mom who was visiting from out of town. This was my first time going, and I’ll admit that we both left with a positive impression. The atmosphere is very modern; I’d say almost a little trying too hard but still nice. My only complaint is that it is very small: the tables are very cramped. We sat in a booth, and there is no room between your purse on the seat and the person sitting next to you. It just made the experience a little less personal because conversations from the tables on either side are as loud as your own. The service was great at our table, but I know the table next to us received something they never ordered and had to argue it.(See what I mean about knowing your neighbor’s business?) The miso soup was good if slightly saltier than I’m used to; I liked the mushrooms. We ordered a variety of sushi: Red hot, hot mess, coconut shrimp, and triple tail. All were delicious and made this restaurant worth another visit. That and the fact that I loved that all the servers were dressed as comic book characters that night.

Went there with my girlfriend to try new sushi places in the area. We were pleasantly surprised of the atmosphere when we got inside. A modern and contemporary feel! Long bar on one side, open kitchen and lovely seating area on the other. Let’s start with the cocktails. Expertly crafted original choices for $ 10. We got two delicious drinks which I cannot remember the name. Gin, cucumber, sour, and a habanero sauce that was not listed on the menu. A great way to start off the night. Now onto the rolls, we got the Royal Treatment, the Red Hot’s and the Ceviche, all came highly recommended by the waitress. The sushi was phenomenal. Some of the best I’ve had in my life! I will definitely be visiting again. While more expensive than your average sushi restaurant, it is definitely worth it on a special occasion. Service was ground and atmosphere a two thumbs up. A must try!

Finally was able to make it out to Oviedo and give this place a try. Several friends that reside in the area rave about this spot and the reviews I read were very favorable. Well, it was just as a 3 star rating warrants, just ok. My friend and I were able to partake of the $ 4 happy hour specials(5 – 6:30, I believe Tues-Thurs). I’m glad we did. We ordered an assortment of rolls along with the KFC wings. I also decided to order a mango saketini. Here are the highlights: Mango saketini– delicious! If you are a fan of anything mango flavored this drink rocked. It was on the happy hour menu so bonus! I ordered two… KFC wings– 4pcs per order. These were jumbo wings covered in a sweet & spicy sauce. Very crispy and all around pretty tasty. Spicy tuna roll– I’ve had sushi all over Orlando and this is the one place that the spicy tuna roll was actually spicy! We sat at the bar and the bartender(sorry forgot your name!) was great. He makes a mean mango saketinin that’s for sure. The not-so highlights: Special roll and the triple tail roll suffered the same fate, not enough fish and way too much rice. Really they should’ve been called rice rolls. Mofo roll– this was not on the happy hour menu but sounded to good to pass up. It is a roll that consists of pork belly topped with plaintain and cilantro. If you like a little sweetness to your roll you might enjoy this one. After a few bites I was done. All in all was it the worse sushi I’ve had, no it wasn’t, but it definitely wasn’t the best either. We left full, but unsure if there would be a return visit.

Sushi Pop is a gem in little Oviedo. You wouldn’t expect to find a sushi joint this fantastic in this area of town — so far from the foodie neighborhoods of Orlando. But Sushi Pop delivers with style and a pleasantly quirky attitude. Sushi Pop has a wide variety of rolls ranging from the more traditional like spicy tuna, to straight up different like the Mofo(fried pork belly, avocado, and fried plantains). Basically, there’s something for everyone. Even the person who doesn’t like sushi(or seafood in general). And their specials change very frequently, so try out the new dishes every time you stop by. The décor is Asian-infused modern. Very trendy. Depending on when you’re there they may or may not be playing animé on the TVs around the restaurant. Little Sushi Pop in Oviedo holds it’s own among some of the best restaurants in the Orlando area.

This place deserves a trophy or a plaque or something for being Oviedo’s greatest treasure. It is by far my absolute favorite place for special occasions such as a birthday, anniversary, or receipt of a contact lens rebate. I also try to visit a few times a month for their fabulous happy hour. The ceviche roll is by far my favorite. Every piece tastes a little different but equally delicious. The salmon roe with a quail egg is perfection. And their new cocktail menu is awesome! Don’t miss the Kyuri Kai or Hit the Deck. They’re great. As is the happy hour gin & tonic. I’ve never gone without a reservation(except during HH when they aren’t accepted) so have never had to wait for a table. The new bar side is beautiful and inviting, and the bartenders are great. I really can’t say enough good things about this place!

A few girlfriends and I visited the recently expanded Sushi Pop nestled in a small plaza in Oviedo. I love the modern crossed with shabby chic décor and the newly expanded cocktail area was a great add as this place gets crazy busy! We had reservations at 8:45 pm and were seated immediately with water. All the waitstaff are super cute, eclectically dressed and fun personalities from what I observed. Our server suggested the Tokyo Mule which is spin of the currently popular Moscow Mule(complete with the copper cups) with Saki. The drinks took a while to arrive but it was extremely busy so it’s understandable. We went ahead and put in our order of a few different rolls and well as an order of fresh uni(sea urchin) which was something we had always wanted to try. We had the Hot Mess which my friend loved but I felt the sauce was a bit heavy and took away from the flavors of the rolls. It’s a salmon & avo roll covered with baked fish covered with sauce & bacon on top. I preferred my Ceviche roll which I was advised by our server to squeeze on top — it was delicate and fresh with micro cilantro garnish which complimented a slight bite of chipotle. My other friend ordered the Anaconda which I had the last time I visited — it’s visually stunning with canaveral shrimp and eel wrapped very precisely with avocado topped with crème fraîche. So…let’s talk about the Uni. It may just be an acquired taste but the flavor was very strong but similar to that of sea dirt on the ocean floor. Being that none of us have ever tried it, I don’t know if that is what it is supposed to taste like so that was a bit disappointing but an adventure nonetheless. Cheers to trying new things!

After hearing rave reviews about Sushi Pop and looking for a new sushi place to make our go-to, we finally got to Sushi Pop. It’s in a strip mall and the interior is very modern and nice. They have a separate bar area that was already busy when we arrived right at opening. The dining area is very nice and features soy sauce«pops» at each table, but I can’t tell you if they are low-sodium or the regular kind. TVs show animé and the servers are wearing some form of animé or comic book clothing. Maybe a costume, but mostly just a t-shirt depicting something about a comic or animé character. We ordered an appetizer, Kurobuta Tacos, and several rolls including Hot Mess(which came highly recommended. Both the tacos and the Hot Mess were both good tasting, but nothing amazing as I’ve had at other restaurants. Especially for the price. We found Sushi Pop to be pretty pricey for the same amount of sushi at other places.

My real life(and Unilocal!) friend Tim A. told me to go here and so I did. Yep, I made a reservation and fortunately there was a table open. No, I do not want to sit at the sushi bar tonight thanks. Sushi Pop is a different sort of sushi place. Yes, it’s sushi, but it’s «reimagined» and«deconstructed» so the sort of classic rolls you might expect will be hard to find if that’s what you want. I let my waitress talk me into the special, which was the jaw of a tilefish that was battered and fried. It was… interesting. I’m glad I had it and I enjoyed it, but I don’t know that I would have it again. There just didn’t seem to be much meat to it though it was tasty. For mains, I went with the KFC and the Hot Mess Roll. The wings were quite spicy and were served very hot out of the fryer, taking a bit to cool off enough to eat. Quite meaty and very tasty. The Hot Mess was a smoked salmon and avocado roll topped with baked tuna and other fish plus spicy mayo and bacon. Yes, bacon at a sushi restaurant. It was different and enjoyable and I’d say«Yes, you should have this!» Service from my waitress was great. She was almost too friendly with a strange need to touch my shoulder each time she went by. Not uncomfortable but different. Beer list has improved since Tim was here. Yes, the usual Kirin Ichiban, but a lot of interesting imports from all over. I love the Hitachino brews, but the Kellerbier went quite well with the fish. Very interesting décor. As Tim says, it’s a loop of animé movies. And somehow, I got very engaged in the story of Mei and Totoro thanks to the captions. It has a happy ending, don’t worry.

This place has been on my bookmark«wish list» and tonight my wish came true! Noted this place is a bit far, but if you’re willing to drive to other restaurants then this place is no exception :) From the outside it looks like it’s closed off and questionable since the sign is cute and bright pink. But once you walk in, you are immediately taken off guard and surprised with the beautiful décor. It has a beautiful zen, modern, playful theme. Cool paintings of animé dolls and if you’re an animé lover, they even play it on the tv. The seats are comfy and spacious, which is nice, and it’s nice like I have a big butt or anything but it’s nice to feel roomy: D The food is Bomb dot com. The edamae with truffle oil was so fragrant and delicious! Makes your edamame have such class. On Sunday’s, they’re special is phở. Yea, you’re probably thinks«seriously? Out of all things phở? Yea, no» trust me, I know, but I was sold on it. They have a special lady who makes the broth and let’s it marinade for 24 hours. Handmade meatballs, nice cuts of flank, and just all around goodness that makes you feel at home and comforted. GETIT! My bf ordered the ceviche roll and that was very clean and flavorful. Oh, and check out the soy sauce! Super cute display and actually useful. Their presentation was definitely a sight for the eyes. I also had a bite of the KFC, let’s just put it this way, if you love wings and Korean food you my friend have the best of two worlds. Service here was very good. Our waitress was very attentive, friendly, and I never had to refill my water. She always beat me to it. She rocked and bad on my part for not getting, well actually remembering her name. This restaurant overall left such a great impression on me and I have to come back and try the other things on the menu!
