Went there tonight and the food tasted just ok, but then after we left. Didn’t feel good and definitely good some food poisoning from what I ate. Never again. Puking most of the night after I left was not my idea of good food or a fun time. No thanks! Thumbs down in my opinion

This is a very nice and clean establishment. Lots of options and combo meals. The service is a bit slow and they seem a bit forgetful, but they’re very nice. Not the cheapest place, but is very nice for what it’s worth. We ordered the volcano roll: raw meat inside, which I’m not used to. Most places has cooked fish in the rolls. Red snapper: tasty! Lots of flavor. Sorbet dessert: covered in white chocolate. Not my cup of tea, but the sorbet itself is true to its flavors(mango, raspberry, mango)

Reducing my review to 3.5 stars. The past couple of times that I got rolls from here they were not as good as the first time. Also, the waitress messed up my order, giving me a different roll(one covered in mayo, I hate mayo) and although the bar did make my correct roll and give it to me for free, it was still disappointing because I tried to verify with her three times that she understood that I wanted a black dragon roll as opposed to one of the other dragon rolls they offer.

Everything is made fresh to order and tastes great. Nice, modern and relaxing atmosphere and design. I have been here 3 or 4 times and the food is tasty every time. My favorite is the tempura with salmon and the spicy tuna rolls. Good miso soup. The woman who works there is friendly and has a good memory in that she remembers your face and what you ordered last time. That’s always a plus. The only thing that slightly bothers me is that you don’t get greeted by anyone else there until she walks out to the dining area.

So excited that this place opening up in the Giant shopping center. Had a great first experience. My friend ordered the shrimp tempura appetizer but they brought us the roll. When we pointed it out our waitress immediately offered to bring us the appetizer and that we could have the roll as well(no charge). Not needing more food, we opted to just keep the roll but ask to be charged for the appetizer(which was cheaper). We received our bill and was charged for neither! Left a generous tip, this is good business! I will definitely be back, and I can’t recommend the tuna tartare enough!

New restaurant with great service. What spurred me to write this review was the the Kim chi appetizer soup I orders. The soup was excellent in all areas. This is a mix on Tom Yum without all the veggies. Highly recommend this for any adventurer. As far as sushi, which is why I came. Great quality, no complaints.

We had such a great experience at Ooki! Great ambience, amazing sushi, and they were kid-friendly too! Not to mention the sushi came out in record time– it was like fast-food sushi :-)

Brand new in Owings Mills right on Reistertown Rd. and the food is delish! Everything is fresh, and tasty. I have been here twice for lunch as well. The décor is so beautiful. Whoever did the designing is amazing! I have had the teriyaki chicken & california rolls. The bento box is not on the lunch menu, but you can just ask for it. This may be one of my new fav spots.

As someone who loves sushi and goes to a buttload of sushi places, I must say that this place is only ok. I have been to many, many different sushi places. This place is not super authentic, but is decent. They have amazing customer service, however. Allow me to elaborate on it all. We had ordered several dishes. Their miso soup, their garden salad, their twisted shrimp, their ooki sushi for two, two orders of shrimp sushi, and a pink lady roll. Miso Soup — Tasty! Very flavorful. The seaweed was totally wilted and did not taste good at all! The tofu was very soft but did not fall apart and the miso soup itself was not over flavored to the point of salitness and not under flavored to the point of wateriness. Garden Salad — Great ginger salad. Fresh vegetables. Great sauce. However, the salad was drenching in the sauce. Twisted Shrimp — We didn’t get to taste any of it! They claimed that they did not have it available, so we canceled this order. However, the restaurant gave us a free appetizer of panko-fried imitation crab sticks. This was really weird and tasted super cheap since frying imitation crab sticks happens to draw all of their flavor and moisture out of them. Ooki Sushi for Two — I have an allergy to mackerel, and my girlfriend has an allergy to squid and octopus. The restaurant was very accommodating, ensuring that there was no trace of mackerel, squid, or octopus. The fish overall was pretty good, not too cold, and flavorful. The tuna was clearly dyed red, but perhaps that was just a sourcing problem. The ginger was nice and fresh and was not sweet, while the wasabi, while strong, was awesome. The rest was nice and flavorful with the exception of their chef’s special roll. It was some kind of jalapeño tuna roll or something like that where it was deep fried with cheese on the inside of it. I don’t know what kind of masochist would eat their sushi with cheese(or jalapeños), but clearly, someone, at some point in history, noticed that a philly roll was not available and was disappointed. I hope all sushi places removes any trace of cheese ever. The restaurant recognized that we had hardly touched the roll and offered a replacement roll that was a standard shrimp tempura roll drenched in spicy mayo and eel sauce. This was better than the strange cheese-roll, but still was not very palatable. We struggled to finish this so that we did not appear to be too rude. Shrimp sushi — the most unusual shrimp sushi I have ever had. The pieces, although clearly they weren’t overcooked, tasted as though they were, being rubbery and tough. Furthermore, there was an unusual aftertaste that I usually associate with authentic crab meat. Pink Lady roll — a pink-wrapped roll that was stuffed with tuna, white fish, salmon, and cucumbers. I thought it was pretty good and was served with a side of sticky, thick sweet sauce. Very interesting. The customer service was amazing! The waitress was very attentive and asked frequently if we needed anything. However, the waitress’s English was limited and occasionally misunderstood orders, though I cannot hold this against her. It’s just that there was a clear communication barrier. Décor was incredible, giving an Asian-club vibe. Really cool black-lit bathrooms(though that made it reallyyyyy hard to see. Peeing was a struggle). Would I recommend this place to someone else? To be perfectly honest, no I would not because there are other sushi places in the area with similar quality fish but better food in general. I did like the size of the fish, since sushi is not supposed to be that big, but this place felt overpriced for the quality of food served.

Décor gives a very upscale feeling. The service was on point. Courteous and our drinks were never empty. The edamame was super fresh. The aged tofu appetizer was very different for us but very tasty. All 3 rolls we got were great. No complaints as everything was delicious. Pricing is a bit on the high side for an Owings Mills strip mall though.

Ok. Let me preface this by letting you know that I rate all sushi restaurants based upon my experiences at Green Leaf. This delightful little place is beautifully and artistically decorated. The ambiance is decidedly Asian and ultra modern. The extensive menu includes not only sushi, but various other Asian dishes as well. I do not care for traditional raw sushi. When I required about cooked options I was informed that ANY sushi item on the menu could be prepared in a cooked version. Sushi dishes that contain«crab» are made with imitation crab but will graciously be made using real crab upon request with a small upcharge. Presentation was lovely(sorry, I was so hungry I started eating before I remembered to take a picture). Service was impeccable and the young lady who cared for us was a true delight. I’m planning to take my husband this weekend(f he completes his honey-do list). Green Leaf now has serious competition!
