Our favorite sushi spot in Pikesville! The fish is always extremely fresh and the chefs are willing to make special rolls if you have one in mind that isn’t on the menu. Our favorite rolls include the Ross Taylor, Volcano, Tropical, Crunchy Spicy, and the Spicy Ross Taylor(off the menu). Their crab salad is a great starter and for some reason, their miso soup tastes better than any other restaurants soup. Enjoy!

Love this place. Been here for both dinner and carry out many times, and it always pleases. Superb sushi and sashimi. Try the tropical roll and, for an app, the Peking duck. People are lovely, particularly Jackie.

This place is my local go-to sushi restaurant. They get pretty crowded at night and weekends because the place is kinda small. Their sushi are great and a favorite of mine is one of their specials called Harry Roll. It has fried soft shell crab and is just amazing. I don’t think it’s on their menu but I always ask for it. Now, please don’t order their Chinese food items. They shouldn’t really offer them because you know, it’s supposed to be Japanese food. My husband a few times ordered some and they were almost inedible.

Used to be one of my favorite places in Reisterstown Rd corridor to go for Sushi. Last few times we ate here, something was off. Sushi was OK. Chinese food was not good at all. We thought we will break our teeth trying to chew through General Tso Chicken. Basil sauce had no Thai basil flavor at all. There is always something about restaurants once they start to claim that they offer«Fusion» food, that’s a sign that they are desperate for clientele. Not sure if I will be back there again or not.

Not a bad find in Owings Mills. It satisfied our craving for a sushi dinner out, but I wouldn’t say it’s a «must-go-back» kind of place for me. There were lots of people dining there on a weekend evening, so it’s definitely a popular place worth trying.

Ok so I saw a group on online and bought it! We ordered $ 70 worth of Sushi! This place is amazing. Although I wasn’t excited about the location the sushi was hella good. I read reviews myself before u decided to go here. Let’s just say all the pictures you see are real and my waiter was so lovely. This place is highly recommended!!!

I’ve had sushi on the west coast. Sushi in London. Sushi in Asia. This is the best sushi I’ve ever eaten. Been here 100+ times and have not had a bad experience yet. Plus the staff is awesome.

This is the best sushi place in town! Everything is super fresh and the staff is so polite! The give you warm hand towels when you sit down which makes it feel so fancy! The volcano roll is the best and they have a lot of unique rolls you can’t find anywhere else. That being said, any other roll you want is still amazing. Get the edamame to start or the chicken lettuce wraps. I have also had their chicken teriyaki, sweat and sour shrimp, and orange chicken and everything is cooked to perfection! Not overly fried(chicken teriyaki is just grilled) and the sauces are amazing!

This place no matter how many times I come here always amazes me to no end and always has wonderful service. I still have much to try from the menu but my favorite thing here is always the volcano rolls.

I had sushi there last night and the food was delicious! It wasn’t crowded — so it was easy to relax and enjoy good conversation. And, the price was reasonable too! Great place to go on a week night!

I’ve had everyone here and they are always terrific! Even though there a few my husband choose, I tried them but didn’t really like them as they we spicy tuna with a hot sauce on the top. While for me after the first which was great I just could not it eat it any longer. So mor for my hubby! I always come your the Yama Roll and the Salad Roll and if the the golden lobster Odin … It’s a special… Then I am a super happy girl? These folks are great, from the front of house to back of house. Food is always highly quality and the quality is always the best. If you love sea food you’ve got go check them Slbracher

Service we quick. Wasn’t too busy or crowded. Ordered 3 rolls and arrived within 5 mins of making order. Great size, quality roll, and good customer service. Price was average but I was thankful they offered a brown rice option. I am unfamiliar with it but it was very delicious. I’ll be back

This is a very quaint place! The sushi is perfect each and every time I go!!! It’s very cute inside I may add. If you would prefer to eat on the floor Japanese style they have a room just for that! The fish pond is nice as well, I felt the place was authentic and a great neighborhood spot!

So wonderfully different. I have tried so many Japanese restaurants here in US. Most of the sushi are all of the same kinds. Yet Sushi ya offers a twist on the classics and they are so distinctively tasty. Highly recommend is their salmon sashimi and blue fin no.1 Toro. Fresh and creamy, they are high quality salmon. Blue fin toro is sweet and buttery. Never had such a high quality tuna ever! Must try! Steak was perfectly medium rare, juicy and tender. Baked mussels are so delicious! I almost had never eaten mussels anywhere before. But I love their baked mussel. Highly recommend! Will come back !!!

Love this place! It was an almost accidental find but totally worth the drive on Reisterstown road(but not in rush hour. I’m not crazy). Sushi chef is excellent and super friendly. He always has great recommendations to try. Watching him prepare sushi is like watching an artist. The manager is very nice as are the other wait staff who work there. Love sushi? Do yourself a favor and go to sushi ya!

Dear Sushi Ya, Your sushi is definitely worth 5 stars. My group and I had an enormous amount, including nigiri(awesome pieces of fish, great quality). Let’s see: We tried various basic rolls: alaska, spicy tuna, yellowtail, as well as various specialty rolls whose names have escaped me. One had slices of lemon on top(YUM!), the Bobby Zirkin roll(AWESOME), and we had one that I believe was called the monster roll — had crab and sriracha sauce. Really really delicious sushi. Your sake was 5 stars. Your beer was 5 stars(one of those quart cans of Sapporo only costs $ 6.75.) Your atmosphere? 5 stars. So Sushi Ya, you may be wondering why this review is only 4 stars. Well, let me share a few pointers with you: 1. When you seat a table of 6 that made reservations, immediately give them menus. Please do not make them wait 8 full minutes(yes I timed). 2. When a waitress(there were quite a few, so service should have been stellar) takes an order, she needs to make eye contact with the people ordering so that she can be sure that they are done ordering. 3. When the table was in fact, not finished ordering, please do not make them track you down to finish their order. Be available within a reasonable distance. 4. When you drop off food or drink at the table, please make eye contact so that if the table would like to order more food or drinks, that they can do so without raising their hand like in elementary school or screaming«Excuse me!» like heathens. 5. I am not trying to be culturally insensitive. I do understand that being polite looks different in different cultures. However, I’m pretty sure that screaming at waitresses is impolite in every culture, so I would love to avoid that in the future, on my part. However, Sushi Ya, your sushi, appetizers, atmosphere, and drinks were top notch. Well done. Much Love, Katrina
