The barbecued shrimp is outstanding. The roux is complex and I couldn’t stop eating. We also had the gumbo, roast beef and oyster po boys. We highly recommend The Second Line. The manager Brendan will make sure you are happy!

It’s a casual eatery where your tummy will be satisfied. The shrimp po-boy was great and they bring in homemade New Orleans bread which makes a big difference. I had the red beans and rice as a side dish and it was solid. Great flavors!

Probably one of two of my favorite places in Oxford. Fantastic food. Highly recommend the BBQ shrimp appetizer and roast beef po boy. Just really wish they would take it easy on the salt. Last couple of times I’ve been there I could barely choke it down it was so unbelievably salty. Service is good. Atmosphere is good. Please just cut down on the salt!

Best ever andouille crawfish cheese fries. These were incredibly tasty. Love the fun upbeat atmosphere. Busy and casual. Small place that seems to stay full of diners. The gumbo was amazing, I could have licked the bowl. Food, service and atmosphere were excellent. Just went back a second time and have to reiterate the food is amazing and the service manages to match the quality of food.

There are lots of places in Oxford to get a po-boy, but anyone who really knows New Orleans food knows you don’t have an authentic New Orleans po-boy without authentic Leidenheimer bread from NOLA. Second Line gets that, and they go the extra mile by having the bread shipped in from NOLA. This makes ALLTHEDIFFERENCE! Their po-boys are fantastic, you won’t find a better one in Oxford. Also, their onion rings… incredible! I wish I could give Second Line 10 stars… because I would. If you want a truly authentic NOLA po-boy, this is the place!

The Country Fried Steak is horrible. I wish I had read the previous review. The pork enchiladas were ok. Nice server.

I enjoyed both of my visits to Second line. We are from Virginia and visit a couple times a year. My meal each time was a good portion and very flavorful(steak). The servers were very polite and well trained. I can not wait to come down and go to brunch with mimosas!

The Smitty’s county fried steak was horrible. We ordered the seafood platter which was 4 hush puppies, 4 fried shrimp, 4 fried oysters, 2 pieces of fried catfish and one side. The side Spinach Madeline was good just very small. Not worth $ 18. Portions were so small and the prices were high. We left hungry. I won’t go back. Not sure about chef Kelly but he needs to stick to his restaurants in Memphis. He is not ready for the Oxford scene.

This was our first time here. Everything was amazing. We started out with Margaritas with Alex at the bar, she’s great. Tim was our server and did an excellent job. Service was amazing. We had just about everything on the menu and were not disappointed. We will be back!

I attended the Second Line — Yalobusha Brewing Company Beer Dinner. What a wonderful display of mastery of ones craft. Each course, the food was perfectly paired with each beer. The atmosphere was welcoming and the service was stellar. Looking forward to return for another great dinner in the future.

Gumbo was really good. Veal schnitzel was fine but I don’t think a 4 maybe 6oz slice w/a side is worth $ 19. They say you eat with your eyes first and I suppose that’s correct b/c when my veal was delivered I was disappointed and pissed at the small portion. Should gumbo($ 9), a tiny entrée($ 19), beer($ 5) and a bloody mary($ 8) plus tip cost $ 53 for one person for a casual restaurant with only four beers on tap? Not to me. I left hungry and sober and feeling ripped off. I doubt I’d come back here b/c the entrée is unnecessarily small and expensive and the beer selection is weak but I’d certainly come here over any of that junk John Currence is schlepping.

Best oyster po-boy in Oxford! And most authentic New Orleans restaurant that I’ve tried here so far! Lunch prices are reasonable.

I thought it was awesome for lunch on a game weekend. They have lunch options where you can get a good meal for cheap. Cool atmosphere and the food was great too.

Six of us went to Second Line on Sunday evening. Of the 6 drinks ordered, 3 had to be re-made because they were made using flat ingredients. 3 of us ordered the country fried steak. Very disappointing. It was mostly breading and was over cooked. There was no gravy, just a drizzle of some sort of brown glaze(Worchestershire maybe?) Of the other 3, one got the veal, another the catfish amandine, and the third the seafood platter. All of those were good. The spinach madeline was the highlight of the meal. About 8:30, the waitress came by for«last call.» Not knowing that local law forbids the consumption of alcohol after 9 p.m. on a Sunday, several in the party ordered wine even though their cocktails were still nearly full. About 8:55, the manager came by and told us to drink up, that all alcohol had to be off the table at 9:00. They were totally correct and abiding by the law. Nevertheless, it would have been nice if we had been told that at 8:30 when we placed the order for wine. Several of the wine glasses were untouched when they were removed from the table. I have to agree with the other comments about the menus. The«cute» little clipboards are not practical. There is no way to see the headings without removing the papers from the clip. The clipboard on my end of the table was icky, sticky too. [shudder]

Venue was neat. Servers were attentive. Food was over salted: seafood platter, country fried steak, and neighbor’s ribeye. Ribeye was inadequate as a dinner entrée. Will try again but expected better, a couple of weeks after opening.
