I didn’t expect to find such delicious ramen close to base, much less in an odd strip mall-like food court, but this was amazing! The takoyaki is among the best I’ve had, the karaage is crispy, hot and tasty, and the ramen has perfectly chewy noodles. If you don’t like raw scallions ask them to hold them, as they give you a huge pile on your ramen. It does get hot in the common eating area(shared with a sushi place and a fish and chips place) so you will probably sweat if your ramen is pretty spicy.

Went for some spicy ramen saturday night. This place is located in the food court at the harbor. The place was pretty packed but we found a table and ordered our food and drinks. The waitress brought the drinks out fairly quick and about 15 minutes later we all had our bowls of ramen. Not too bad considering it was freshly prepared. We were served a nice big bowl of ramen with a mound of bean sprouts and scallions in the middle. I ordered the spicy level 3, which was spicy, but I like my ramen a little hotter so asked for a side of chili paste. The flavor of the broth and ramen was great. Our waitress came by a few times to check on us and never let our drinks go empty which was great! Will be back for sure!

I’ve heard about this Ramen place and been wanting to try it because there’s finally a Ramen spot in Oxnard. I went in with average expectations but the food greatly exceeded my expectations. I ordered The Spicy Ramen with Level 3 Spice. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the flavor was great. What I really enjoyed about this ramen was the large amount of green onion in it, the bean sprouts, and the overall flavor. I also requested an egg in the ramen and I was overall impressed. However, the ramen was not that spicy, the spice levels were 1 – 3 and I got 3 expecting it to be very spicy, i asked for a side of chili paste to make the ramen spicier and it made it spicier, but I was hoping for a spicier experience. Nonetheless, the ramen is prepared fresh so be ready for a 15 minute wait. The customer service was good, as they checked up on us a few times and were polite. Overall the food was restaurant quality and I believe this company would succeed outside of the food court it is in. I will definitely make sure to grab ramen next time I visit the harbor.

This was my second time there, the food is AWESOME! FYI… it does take sometime to get your food because they cook it when you order it. Both times I’ve gotten the Chicken Curry and it is just as good as any of the other spots in LA or SD. I will definitely be back for more!

Looks can be deceiving, definitely a «hole in the wall» joint. I ordered the spicy ramen. You can choice how spicy you want it by level 1 – 3. I choice level 2, it was not over barring. Seasoned perfectly and the noodles were cooked just right. After I was done with my ramen I ordered their fresh green tea ice cream. It was so refreshing and for $ 1 for a cup! Definitely will be coming back, the next time I am in town.

Walking around the Channel Islands Marina for a few hours can build up an appetite. Unilocaled it, saw all the yummy photos. Man gotta go there, got here just before all the crowds. I ordered Curry Chicken Katsu it comes with rice, miso soup and a yummy salad. Even got Green Tea ice cream for dessert. My wife got Spicy Pork Ramen, they had 3 levels of spicy I got her the #1, the mild one. A order of ShrimpTakoyaki for $ 5.50 And a fresh lemonade. Curry was delish I drenched my rice with it. Chicken was moist and crispy. Ramen was very spicy even for a level #1. My wife craves Takoyaki, she grew up eating it when she was a kid. Hot gooey dough balls brought out smiles. I’d wish they would have one here in Monterey Park.

It’s located in a sorta sketchy abandoned looking food court, but the food here is excellent ! My new absolute favorite place to eat in Channel Islands Harbor Marina area. They serve a nice little variety of Japanese food here. I only destarred because of the wait to place an order + food to be made caught me off guard since it is in a food court. However, the food is freshly made from scratch so if you’re willing to wait 30−45+ min. then I guess it’s worth the wait. Fair prices if you’re just looking for a casual Japanese lunch or dinner. The owners are also super sweet. I will be back to try other dishes~ ALSOTHEICECREAMISVERYGOOOD.

hands down, my absolute favorite place to eat. yes the wait for the food takes longer than usual, but if you ever stood near the counter to watch them make your food, you’d realize it was all freshly made from scratch! I don’t mind waiting for top notch quality. will continue to come here again and again and again!

i have eaten here twice and let me just say, this is the best place to try out authentic Japanese street foods. First time i came here i had some sort of pork cutlet dish. And it was pretty good, not so good that i didn’t need ketchup on it, but still really good. I also got the takoyaki, WHISHWASAMAZING. Second time i got the takoyaki again, and then some spicy ramen. The ramen was amazing, and i was able to eat most of it, even though i was not able to doctor it up in a way that would make it 100% enjoyable to me. Now i am still giving this place a full five stars because the issues i had were with me. Not the food. I have a habit of putting cream and ketchup in my ramen, and it was weird to not have that in mine. The fact i could still eat it though is a testament of how good it was. I highly recommend the takoyaki over anything else though. unless you are allergic to octopus.

Nice and friendly people behind the counter. The food is really good especially the takoyaki and okonomiyaki plus there affordable. The cold soba was good as was the tempura. I like ramen level 2 and the red bean steam buns are the perfect dessert.

This is easily the best place that Unilocal has ever led me. Whenever I’m in Oxnard I usually end up eating at Gen KBBQ but for some reason I decided to venture outside of the norm to explore a bit. Very glad I did. Walked into a very unassuming food court with only two vendors with tables between them. From the look of the place I knew right away that it was family owned and seemed very authentic. Prices were super reasonable. Came in with my girlfriend and ordered the Spicy Miso Ramen, Chicken Curry, Takoyaki, Zaru Udon and okonomiyaki. Kind of overkill, but thats how we roll. Spicy Miso Ramen: Very solid bowl of ramen. Soup was flavorful with just the right amount of spice. Noodles were tasty and slightly chewy. Hands down, best ramen I’ve had outside of the Bay area/LA. Chicken Curry: Only had a few bites, and usually I’m not a fan of ordering curry out since I think I make a pretty decent Japanese Curry myself but This was very tasty as well! Chicken was fried nicely and well seasoned. Curry itself was pretty good, very good depth of flavor. Zaru Udon: Pretty sure this was my favorite. Perfect chew, dunked into a rich, cold broth seasoned with green onion and wasabi for the perfect hot weather food. Tasty, tasty, tasty. Takoyaki: Best takoyaki I’ve ever tried. When you bite into them a flood of creamy, almost gravy like stuff floods out with very tender octopus inside. Topped with that Kewpie mayo, and only $ 3.50? Crazy. Okonomiyaki: By this time I was ready to take a nap. Came out topped with the same accoutrements as the takoyaki. First time trying, it was very delicious! Crispy and loaded with seafood, pork belly and veggies. Oshi! This place is an example of what I love most about eating out. You can tell they put their heart into what they do. Came in expecting nothing, and left with one of the best meals I’ve had in a while. Won’t be eating Gen anytime soon. 5⁄5 Service 6⁄5 Food 5⁄5 Price

Excellent cheap eats located in a food court hidden in the channel islands harbor marina area. I had the chicken cutlet curry set with rice, salad, and miso soup. Only $ 8.50! Served on real dishes not styrafoam or paper. The chicken and curry were just like curry house in los angeles. The salad was very tasty. The soup was overly salty. I will be back to try other dishes!

Went there on our way to a one night stay in Oxnard. I say go for the katsu-don and iced green tea. They don’t sweeten the green tea and its’s super thick. You can see the green residue at the bottom of your styrofoam cup. Chicken Katsu Curry was alright. Spicy ramen was so so. This place is legit Japanese food, run and staffed by native Japanese family. Food court is pretty run down — they should have their own restaurant, methinks, since the food court is dingy for the quality of food they serve.

The best food of any price range/ethnicity I’ve had in a while. Absolutely amazing. Inexpensive, traditional Japanese food. Flavorful, fresh ingredients. Try the okonomiyaki, octopus takoyaki, cold soba, traditional miso ramen, and lychee ice cream. Trust me.

A friend of mine took me to this place a year ago and I regret never knowing about this place earlier! This place is connected to 2 other restaurants in a food court themed area and it’s a very open area with lots of seating. The owners are very nice and family oriented so they often remember you and ask how you are which is very pleasant! The food is extremely authentic and I believe you can’t get some of these dishes in town unless you go out of town or into Los Angeles. For instances, they serve takoyaki, okonomiyaki, and street style ramen and theyre all delicious! If you don’t feel like rice bowls, noodles, or japanese style street food, there’s also sushi and fish n chips right across! the prices are very reasonable as well, a friend and I can get full from just a couple dishes and spend less than 15 $ altogether!

This place was ok, not bad. I was stationed in Japan for 2 years way back in the days, but anywho, I mention that due to having somewhat of an idea of what good ramen is supposed to be like, this place is a hole in the wall in a food court, the staff is very welcoming and attentive, the ramen, well, I think it needed a bit more flavor, too many bean sprouts and to few pieces of meat. I had the spicy ramen level 3 with an asahi beer, it was good, but didn’t blow my mind. I still think santouka ramen is by far the best ramen spot in SoCal, unless any one else has a better recommendation. Overall, for the location, if u find yourself nearby, stop by and try it out.

Prices here are decent. It is very casual, in a hole-in-the-wall food court. It’s across the korean Fisherman’s House restaurant(fish n chips). We ordered the okonomiyaki $ 5, takoyaki $ 3.50, chicken cutlet curry $ 8.50, and the spicy Ramen $ 8.50. The problem is that this place had a lot of customers at night so service is slow. The spicy Ramen comes in 3 levels, 3 is the very spicy, but for myself,(I handle spicy food well) it was really like a medium. The Ramen was loaded with bean sprouts and noodles. The noodles were fair. a little on the overcooked end. And the soup was way too heavy with sodium. The okonomiyaki looks very appetizing, but is pretty sodium heavy and way too saucy. Overall it’s a fair hole-in-the-wall restaurant with great prices if you’re just looking for a casual Japanese dinner with friends or family. But for an Asian like myself with a palette for these dishes, it’s a bit disappointing. But the owners are very kind and they checked on our table consistently. ALSOTHEICECREAMISGOOOD.
