Would not recommend, at least for avid sushi lovers. The fish was simply not good quality. Never have I experienced such low-grade fish especially for the price of some of their rolls. I was unable to get my salmon sashimi down without chasing it with my coke. Disappointed considering the volume of great reviews on here, makes me wonder why and if I just didn’t order the right items. That being said, the staff was wonderfully polite and nice however they seemed to be short of staff with what seemed like only three people handling the tables not counting the chefs. I feel sorry to leave a review like this because they were so polite but the food was really just that bad. The only thing that needs to change there is the quality of fish and maybe hire some more staff to help out the hard working staff that is currently there.

I went in here for dinner, their parking is horrible. It seriously took me 20 minutes for a parking spot. Already unhappy we go in and the place is empty which is good I guess haha but our service was good just the rolls we received were very sloppy. My tuna was falling apart and everything else was just ok. The taste wasn’t the greatest. Could do better than this place.

Definitely one of the best sushi spots in Oxnard. The avocado bomb and spicy edamame(onions and mushrooms) are amazing. Always willing to customize any roll. I ordered the Ninja vs Samurai roll and added lemon slices on top, so good! Also a nice location with patio seating on the harbor

You get what you pay for. Tried this place 2x for to go& both times got my order wrong. When I went back, bags in hand, to retrieve the item I already paid for, they told me they were giving me the item complimentary??? & I was argued with regarding the items located on their online menu. Apparently it is not up-to-date? But they will do me a favor and give me what they are advertising??? Skip this place and go down the street to Sushi Holic!

This is the second time my fiancé and I have tried to go in and eat. The sign says they close at 3 and we have gone in at 2pm or 2:15pm only for them to tell us that they are closed. There were other tables that had people eating at them. They kept saying sorry but why are you turning customers away when the business of operation signs say otherwise! It isn’t like we cane in 5 min before closing!

I’m no expert in sushi but I LOVEIT. I enjoy it. I Will drive far and long, and swim across many seas to have tasteful sushi. ok, maybe not too that extent but you get the idea. I heard that this place was really good from a few people, and after I was finished at the gym next door, I was craving sushi(I like to eat immediately after a workout) and since the sushi place I normally go to is closed until 5:30pm, I decided to try Sushi House. This was my first and will definitely be my last time I ever come to this place. Upon entering«sushi House» I was starred at and not acknowledged. I must of stood for roughly 13 seconds by the door before I started making my way to the sushi bar to seat myself, and as I was pulling the chair out, that is when I was finally greeted and then asked how many in my party. Now, im not sure about you guys but for me its Obvious that, if its just me and i’m standing there for 13 seconds waiting to be greeted and then walking over to the sushi bar alone, one would think you wouldnt have to ask that silly question. So as I was seated, greeted… I then waited an additional 4 maybe 5 minutes to receive a menu and a drink. After inspecting this menu, MYGOODNESS the rolls were ridiculously over priced. The majority of their«special» rolls were roughly $ 5 overpriced compared to everywhere else. As for my drink, I ordered green tea(i’m a tea connoisseur) they brought it out in a 16oz cup, It cold have been 18oz’s but the point is it had one tea bag in it… how can one tea bag correctly brew a 16 – 18 oz cup of water? It cant and you can’t just pour water in a cup and then sit your tea bag in it. The tea has to be steeped first then you can go ahead and chill it to serve iced tea. Anyways, it tasted like someone had green tea in the cup, poured out that glass of green tea and then refilled the cup up with water and the remnants of the previous green tea was slightly there giving a slight subtle taste of green tea. It was disgusting. The service was a joke, it absolutely sucked! There was roughly 4 – 5 other tables that were occupied and it took somewhere between 25 – 35 minutes to receive the«ONE» sushi roll that I ordered which was $ 6 over priced compared to other places I have had it from. What kind of pushed me over the edge and made me not even want to eat, besides the long wait was that the roll kept falling apart. It was like once my chopsticks touched the roll, it crumbled apart. This happened to each and every piece of roll I tried picking it up. It was so annoying I wanted to walk out. I had lost my appetite by now. The chef looked like a kid that just graduated high school, actually, I think all the workers there were still in high school? I couldnt tell by the immaturity they were displaying by constantly being on their cell phones, walking around looking down on it in front of everyone, being loud and obnoxious, I mean very loud to where I thought I was part of their conversation, can clearly hear everything. The staff was just annoying. Some of the fish had bones in them, where are these fished sourced? I’m not sure but apparently not from a reputable vendor if they contain choking hazards. So in all, this is most likely the worst place I been to. I thought Anaba was bad but his place TAKES the cake. I gave them two stars because as you can see from other peoples pictures, the sushi is displayed geatly. But just because its beautifully displayed doesnt mean its great tasting! My sushi was decent. It was not the best but also was not the worst I’ve had. If the service had met my standards, I would of given this place 3 stars. They’re lucky i’m giving them two. Their Sushi is definitely not worth the price though.

We go once a week for happy hour and get an Avacodo Bomb each — worth coming here just for this! Their philly roll and feta sashimi are also really tasty. Fish is fresh and sauces are yummy. Staff is great — we like being regulars here. Reasonable prices too! Only negative is it is next door to our gym so we go to work out with full bellies :)

Can’t give a 5 since I didn’t really have sushi. I was in the middle of a cleanse and I ordered seaweed salad and asked the waitress if could get a veggie roll with no rice. Both were good. I. like the fact that they accommodated me. I will be back to try their sushi.

My experience here was enjoyable, what I noticed right away when I first came in was that they did not greet you like how Japanese restaurants do and the place was lit up very bright which gave it a fresh feeling unlike other Japanese restaurants. I got the Malibu roll($ 17) which was spicy. I loved every single bite of it. The roll was very different from all other rolls I’ve had in the past. The ponzu sauce was so addicting I couldn’t get enough. Every single thing about that roll was spectacular. My boyfriend got the Cruz roll($ 12). It looked like a basic roll, the the flavors were packed!!! You can actually taste the fish unlike other sushi restaurants where they hide the flavors from packing on the sauce. Although the sushi here is a bit pricy, you really get what you pay for. I do not regret spending money here for some delicious sushi!

Avocado bombs are really the bomb! Love coming here for happy hour. Seating is spacious and there usually isn’t a wait. Service is quick, friendly and attentive. I love all the rolls I’ve tried here but my absolute favorite would have to the the salmon tempura roll! If you get a chance, you have to stop by the best sushi place in town!

I tried this place during its 1st week of opening and was still impressed! There’s free valet parking, which I highly recommend. The owner was there greeting customers and though the place was packed, we were promptly seated. I was with a couple of friends and my unpredictable 2yr old, so I wanted to sit outside. The outside back patio had a beautiful harbor view and my daughter loves boats. I would’ve sat outside, but because of the patio being accessible to the public, no alcohol is allowed(inside please haha!). All our food was awesome! Our drinks and edamame arrived with a quickness. My anti– sushi friend had a teriaki bowl, but we got him to try a tempura shrimp roll and he loved it! My other friend got the my sancha roll, which I’ve always wanted to try at the Ventura sushi house, but I’m too cheap! Next time, it’s mine! So worth it! Everything is cooked to order, so if you’re looking for fast food sushi, I hear there are other restaurants in the area.

I am very excited that my favorite sushi restaurant in Ventura has now opened this location in Oxnard! First impression from the parking lot was an ordinary-looking restaurant, sandwiched between a busy gym and a breakfast spot. As I walked in it quickly turned out to be an amazing place to dine! The murals on the wall give it that hip urban feel that the Ventura location has! and as i passed the sushi bar, with a customary japanese«welcome» from the chef, i moved towards the back patio and fell in love with the view! it overlooks the marina! I ordered the peppered tuna sashimi, omg this one is the bomb! definitly a favorite! I had it with Ty-Ku Sake! way better than the hot sake! i recommend the coconut flavored ty-ku sake! and of course I finished with deep fried mochi ice cream to please the sweet tooth. This will definitly be my sushi spot when in Oxnard!

Here for the Grand Opening. Had the Santa Cruz Roll, Lobster Dynamite Roll and a Spicy Tuna Tempura Roll along with an Avocado Bomb. IMO you can’t go wrong with any of those, I’m not sure I would even be able to pick out which one I liked more.
