We ordered the«catch of the day» which was a Mahi Mahi in curry with mango chutney and jalapeño chutney, banana and chocolate crêpe, and the ham egg cheese breakfast crêpe. Everything was very good but the Mahi Mahi really stood out as excellent. The curry spice were done perfectly and it was complement well by the chutney. We also had an iced latte and iced mocha and those were average as far as coffee goes. If you’re in the area this is a must try. Waiters and waitresses were very busy as this place is always packed but despite the business they were relatively friendly.

Our family has eaten at Café des Amis for at least 16 years. The food is prepared well, quality is a little above average, staff friendly and I love their curries and Mediterranean platter. yum! My most recent visit(really looking forward to it) was very disappointing all the way around, I was shocked. I generally have the fish curry but decided to opt for the steak this time around. Chewy, tough and flavorless, I thought possibly a new chef, owner, recipe. nope, all the same! The server was not friendly, borderline we were an inconvenience to be in her section. I got home and within ¾ hours I was sick, really sick! I was so saddened by this experience because I love the restaurant, but there are SO many great restaurants I know I won’t be back for a long while, if ever. I gave it 3 stars out of nostalgia for what it once was. If it was my first experience, one star!

Made to the Café because the first place we went to had a Long Line so glad we did. My date and I had a wonderful visit after watching the Sunset in Paia(which you can see this time year. The Server did a great job answering our questions about the menu. A Young Woman with a Great Voice Singing was playing Guitar while we eat our tasty crêpe’s and chatted about our days. I had the lentil and mozzarella crêpe and chocolate and banana crêpe for dessert both were wonderful and service was – outstanding– nearly closed the place down we were so relaxed there. Lot of Aloha all around. :)

I have to come back and eat some more. I had a refreshing mango banana smoothie and shared the poisson cru and hummus with a friend. First of all, I loved the smiley face on the hummus. Playing with food it awesome I don’t care what anyone says. Food should be fun! Poisson cru came with rice which could have been a meal but chips maybe better for an app. The hummus was tasty but I want to go back for the crepes. Ambiance was comfortable, bohemian and friendly. Wish I lived closer!

The chicken avocado crêpe is my favorite also the curries are all very good. The vibe here is very cute and they often have live music playing. You can’t forget the lilikoi margarita, my favorite margarita in all of paia! It’s a must try if you stop by here.

Oh my goodness the lilikoi margaritas FTW… I could bathe in them they are so tasty. We were recommended to this sweet spot by the Paia Inn and it did not disappoint– we walked in and chose a seat right on the window which offered a street view and great people watching(Paia has lots of characters, which made the people watching a lot of fun) — we ordered Lilikoi Margaritas which were so sweet and smooth and delicious I wish I had ordered a second one and not the beer I decided on instead! We also ordered an appetizer platter with lots of fresh dips, meats, and fresh baked bread which was the perfect mid afternoon snack. Super fresh– high food quality, excellent service. If we had been in Paia for more than one day I certainly would have returned for a full meal.

Everything … Not only the laid back vibe, the chill Service l, quality food; I. e the chicken rice bowl that my 5 yr old dogged was like boy meets .thing.ever. My 2nd time and definitely not my last .a favorite stop ok paia town. I will keep coming back. .maui

Truly outstanding! Just what we were looking for: small, intimate, great staff and wonderful food. We tried a couple of the«savory» breakfast crepes and they were outstanding. Even the salad with their house dressing was so good I practically licked my plate clean. Wish I could do breakfast here every day.

Have to admit we stopped in here only because it was right in front of our parking space, and it was raining pretty hard. The place is charming and funky and has an appealing menu of various crepes, salads and curries. I chose shrimp curry, which was delicious, and opted for the brown rice and a small side of mango chutney. Quite yummy. Hubby went for a Greek salad which he polished off so that got his thumbs up. Now that we know this is here, we will definitely be back.

My husband and I shared the Nutella crêpe with strawberries and bananas, outstanding. Real whipped cream, delicious! Cute little town, if you go to road to Hana which I don’t recommend, a great place for dessert if your stomach can handle it.

Found this place on Unilocal as well as a few people I know in California expressing how good this place is. It definitely did not disappoint! First let’s start with the environment… super cute with indoor/outdoor options. To say I’m a «coffee snob» is putting it lightly lol. I’m from a family owned coffee shop in California and have been a barista myself for 10+ years sooooo coffee is definitely my specialty. I asked the waitress if the soy latte was worth trying(many experiences in the past have shown me that great coffee usually comes from coffee shops not restaurants). She assured me it was so I went for it. On that note, HUGE kudos so whomever made my soy latte because it was perfection. Foam was so on point. I ordered the spinach feta breakfast crêpe as well as a strawberries & cream crêpe to share and both were jam packed with amazing flavor. My only thing was that it did take quite some time for our food to come; I would say a solid 30 minute wait after we ordered but not enough to knock down a star. Maybe just don’t come here if you’re in a super big rush lol

We stopped at Café Des Amis on our way towards the Hana Hwy and loved every bite! So glad we tried this place rather than stopping at Charly’s… I had the egg /tomato crêpe, which was very tasty. My 4.5 yr old daughter kept eating that crêpe over her chocolate strawberry one! My husband had the breakfast burrito, also extremely tasty. We ended up trading halfway through our respective meals! The bombay potatoes are the BOMB(pun totally intended). Lastly, we shared the lime and sugar cane crêpe. Again, super good. Simple, yet SO tasty. Would definitely order this again. The service was also pretty good. Anything we asked for, they helped us out with right away. Bottom line: if you’re in Paia, try Café Des Amis. Crepes with an Indian flair!

Favorite place to eat in Paia. I love love love the chicken avocado savory crêpe. The sweet crepes are all delicious and very affordable. Seriously I’ve had every single one. My boyfriend is a meat and rice kind of guy but he really liked the ham and cheese crêpe. I go for take out sometimes when I need a fix but don’t have someone to sit with. The only bad thing is that there is no parking in Paia. So be prepared to circle around or walk a little. Either way it’s worth it! The samplers are perfect for sharing. Drinks are a little pricey.

Café Des Amis is a nice café with Mediterranean and Indian food and crepes. There are many options for vegetarians and carnivores alike. I was able to enjoy the vegetarian Mediterranean appetizer for 2. The pita comes out hot. The hummus is some of the best I’ve had in a long time. It has a nice variety on the plate. It’s enough for a meal if you order it by yourself(which I did not — I fortunately was able to split it with others). For lunch, I had the mozarella, tomato, basil, and parmesan crêpe. I was very pleased with the results. I hadn’t had a savory crêpe before(only sweet ones in Europe). The crêpe complemented the flavors without being too much, like many times a panini or other form of sandwich can be. It was warm throughout, and it came with a salad. I got the basalmic vinaigrette. Unfortunately, both times I went, I was too full to try a dessert crêpe. That just means I’ll be back!

The fam bam and I found ourselves in Paia for breakfast, so I quickly pulled up Unilocal and found this café to eat at. Like a lot of places in Maui, there isn’t a parking lot, but we easily found parking up the street. There is also a small parking lot down on Hana Highway(around the corner) in Paia. The café wasn’t busy at 9:00am on a Tuesday, so we easily grabbed one of the few inside tables. There are outside tables as well around the back. It’s table service after you seat yourself. Service was good, it took a little while for us to get food, but that’s because everything is delicious and made fresh! My Husband had the Mediterranean Crêpe which had vegetables, feta and pesto inside and also came with a small side salad. He is normally a meat eater, but he loved his crêpe! I had the Banana, Toffee Sauce and Cream Crêpe and it was amazing as well! The crêpe was super fresh and cooked perfectly, and they were generous with the delicious toppings. There were plenty of sweet and savory crêpe options, as well as many Vegetarian selections. Pricing wasn’t bad(for Maui) and we had a very nice experience. I would definitely come back next time I am in Maui!

Cafeteria y restaurant frances en el hermoso downtown historico de Paia. Mas que nada hay crepes dulces y salados muy, muy abundantes(hasta se podrian compartir), viene con una ensalada de verdes. No venden gaseosas solo jugos naturales.

***3.5 stars*** Came here for dessert ordered strawberries and cream crêpe. The crêpe was good, but the strawberries were a bit on the sour side. The cream was really good, so that helped make up for the sour strawberries. I took my order to go, but they do have a nice outdoor seating area. Service was fair and prices were pretty typical, parking in Paia is difficult.

Breakfast is one of my favorites. Check out my Pinterest boards and you’ll see. It’s the most important and often delicious part of my day. When I was asked to join a group of ladies at a place I had never been, I was ready. A Saturday morning + eating somewhere new + a visit to hippie town Paia + a bunch of girlfriends. yes, it was going to be good. Café Des Amis is located in downtown Paia – and parking can be tricky… really tricky. Leave a little early and come armed with some patience – it’s worth it once that crêpe hits your plate. The décor is really cute– kind of a Maui surf theme. There are a few long tables which is really nice for big parties. The only complaint(and it’s a small one) is that there isn’t much shade when you sit outside. We were all cute — and really sweaty. But we made it work, it’s Maui ya know. No worries. The menu is hard. I won’t lie. First it starts off with all these sweet crepes and I was sold. Then I see savory crepes and I have to re-think everything. I mean, I need strawberries, but I also need some chicken and avocado… choices are hard. I finally decided that I had better go with a crêpe that would keep me full for awhile. I chose the Chicken, avocado, mozzarella, tomato with Caesar dressing! The server immediately told me that they were out of avocados. Wait. What? Bummer. She did say that they could substitute it with spinach. Definitely not the same, but I decided not to be a pain and just go with it. The kept the carafes full of water and our food came relatively quickly. I was super stoked on my breakfast. it was so so good. Salad with breakfast takes a bit of getting used to, but it can be done. The flavors in my crêpe were spot on. I ate every last bite. And I left the table feeling healthy – not grease bombed. All the ladies were humming over how ono the grindz were. It was a winner. This is a must stop for breakfast on the north shore. I’ll be back soon – it’s time to give the sweet crepes a trial run

Friends of mine have been here before so I knew I’d be in good hands. ATMOSPHERE: The indoor portion is pretty tiny and open-air. The outdoor courtyard with gravel floor is pretty spacious and protected from the elements by the building walls, eaves, and umbrellas. MENU: Savory and sweet crepes, and different curries. FOOD: Ham & Gruyère Crêpe — I really liked it. I never associated crepes as savory, only sweet. Now I’m a total fan! The crêpe was just right in thickness and the ham & cheese had great flavor. It came with a leafy green salad with a balsamic dressing. SERVICE: Our female server was friendly and professional. OVERALL: Good food, good prices and good service. I do want to go back and try the curries. TIP: They do NOT validate for the paid parking lot across the street.

If you like crepes, you have to eat here! Crepes are served with a side of salad with pesto dressing and a dollop of creamy cheesy crime fraiche. My husband and I ordered the Mediterranean veggies with feta and pesto and the chicken mozzarella tomato avocado crêpe. Both were made to perfection. We also heard other patrons who are regulars mention that their curry based dishes were also amazing. We both thoroughly wish we had a restaurant like this at home. Fear not, we will be back to Paia to eat here again!
