I liked this gift shop. The best I came across in Maui. It had unique items, and things I’d actually like to gift to other people. Very eclectic, with jewelry, masks, kitchy toy cars, and Hawaiian themed items. The shopkeeper was quite friendly, helpful, and patient with me… and I’m a pretty agonizing person to be around when making purchasing decisions. She gave good advice and had a dry sense of humor I enjoyed. She also knew all her items well, and could give me the honest background on where they came from. I had fun shopping in this store, and my very picky family were pleased with my gifts. Thanks for the beautiful wooden mask and the blingy pineapple jewelry box!(I kept the pineapple box for myself, shh).

This is a cute little gift shop situated right next to Café des Amis so I checked it out after lunch. They have jewelry, musical instruments, tiki heads, and other souvenirs. Unfortunately the shopkeeper is one of the most unpleasant women I have ever encountered. She glared at me for touching the jewelry on display. I actually felt like she didn’t want me in her store at all, so I left. There are many other places to get similar items, and I found another store a block away with wonderful, friendly staff. I ended up buying a few bracelets from them instead ;)

Go here if you want to be vigilantly watched by an old lady who is fearful of you touching any of the stuff she’s selling. Recently went in here for the second and final time, and other friends have had the same experience, especially with the mediocre, overpriced tourist-quality musical instruments on offer. It looks like they have some cool«local» souvenirs and gifts, but the owner is rather mean and it just seems like doesn’t want to sell anything. I was considering buying a musical instrument, and began trying them out, shortly after which she promptly told me to «only play them if I’m serious about buying them». Well, I WAS serious, now I’m not. Bye.
