Nobile Shoes

Walked in wearing a cam boot. The woman behind the counter — without even asking me a word– said, «you need to buy vionic sandals.» I looked at her and said no. I don’t. I then explained I was from philly and that I don’t wear sandals in winter, thank you. She then told me to buy them to wear in my house. !!! Never asked me what my issue was. Never asked what I was looking for. And then she proceeded to verbally dissuade me from looking at inserts for my heel spur and PF. Walked out buying nothing. DON’T GO HERE unless you don’t mind being spoken down to.

The owner/​operator of this store are knowledgeable and helpful, particularly for people with foot or walking issues. The biggest problem is that they are also somewhat devious. Last year my wife needed a shoe that was not in stock so they ordered my shoe in a 7 ½ WW. When it arrived I picked it up. When I got it home I saw that it was an 8 W. When I returned it to the store they said the ⁷¹⁄₂ WW was not available and insisted that an 8W was the same size. This is just not true.
My wife now has a brace on her foot and needed a bigger shoe. We reluctantly returned to Nobile as the only practical local solution. Now she needs an 8 ½ WWWW to accommodate the brace. Apparently they did not have any in stock so after trying a few alternatives which did not fit, they came out with two 8 ½ WWWW pair. Both were very large, one too much so to wear. Then I noted that the shoes were Men’s, not Women’s. Men’s and Women’s sizes run differently but this apparently did not warrant their even telling us that these were Men’s shoes. When I told them that I thought this was a bit devious and that I was quite annoyed with the way they did business, both the owner and the sales women walked away and refused to wait on us. They just left us sitting there, knowing that my wife needed a pair of shoes, that her feet were very sore from having the wrong size. Ultimately, a sales person did come over and sell her a pair of the Men’s shoes because there was no choice and we could no longer wait.
So my conclusion is that this place has the potential to be a helpful resource but buyer beware, there is a tendency to deviousness. I would not return to this store.
