We had to been wanting to experience dinner at Cary Grant’s estate for a while, we went a week before valentine’s Day to truly experience it peacefulness & beauty without the crazy rush. 1. When we checked in I told The man at the front check in that it was our first time here, he asked me would I like inside or outside seating, shows us to our table. It was a sat night & not crowded at all, lots of tables open & he sits us at a extremely small table smacked up next to a tree with no view!!! Really out of all tables your going to seat new customers here? Doesn’t bother to ask if this is OK, he just leaves. 2. Then our waiter comes to take our drink order 10– 15 mins later??? While there are a ton of waiters just standing up against the back wall doing nothing. We order a bottle of wine finally . As we wait patiently, we see our waiter tend to at least three tables & pick up empty plates, but before hand puts our bottle of wine on an empty table next to us, not serving us, ok I’m upset now after being there so long just waiting ??? We got so fed up that my fiancé was getting up to get the wine himself . Our waiter. finally shows up with the wine, pours it and let’s me taste it. I tell him I’m sorry I ordered a white Zinfandel, not a dark . He then proceeded to scold me by saying«No, it’s what’s on the menu & fine if you’d like a white I’ll bring you one. !!!» Completely rude!!! Goes and tells another waiter something then comes back to table shows me the actual bottle with a smirk on his face then proceeds to tell me how this same very incident happened to him last month with another customer, shaking his head!!! Hello management, fix your menu & state that you have a dark & white Zinfandel & train your waiter with proper etiquette!!! 4. Another waiter comes by and literally throws us some bread on the table and leaves. 5. By this time we we’re losing our appetites . I guess our waiter was offended that we didn’t want to order off the full menu, so we ordered the ceviche to share. Bad decision. Crevice was bland, chips were so small you had to use a small spoon to eat it. 6. We also saw our waiter attending to everyone and pouring their wine for them, making conversation with them and refilling their glasses and their water, but that didn’t happen to us either. Enough said we felt like we were discriminated against, treated very poorly, completely ignored and unattended to. And this was supposed to be our special pre Valentine’s Day dinner. 7. We asked for our check and wouldn’t you know that was the fastest thing he brought us. We felt like if they or he didn’t want us there & we left what a joke!!! My fiancé even left him a very big tip, more than what our bill was ‚ Never in our lives have we ever been so upset with an establishment, had they just treated us fairly with good service & proper etiquette the restaurant would’ve had a new returning customers for life. We left to Melvyn’s & we were greeted immediately, seated immediately, attended to immediately and of course everything was amazing. They treated us like celebrities . Case closed.

This was the best restaurant I ate at in my first visit to Palm Springs. Of course I am biased to the general Cary Grant heritage of this place, but the food and service were excellent. If you want a nice dinner in the desert then this should be your first stop.

Our waiter Jason was really nice and knowledgeable about the menu. The entire staff was very attentive. The ambience is fantastic. I had the seared scallops with pork meatballs, three beet salad and lavender pound cake with basil ice cream. Everything was fantastic but I can’t stop thinking about that basil ice cream. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this restaurant!

Copley’s is located a few blocks from the heart of downtown Palm Springs. A gem of a restaurant that looks unimpressive from the street. However, open the door and enter a beautiful courtyard with a large water fountain within an outdoor dining area with patio heaters. The indoor dining room is also charming with fewer tables than outside. This night was perfect weather for outdoor dining. The wait staff was friendly and service was timely but not hurried. Our entrees were a Prime 12 oz New York Steak and the Pan Roasted Baramundi. The steak was prepared perfectly as ordered. It was served with truffle fries that was a tad more truffle oil to my wife’s taste. The steak was topped with caramelized onions served along side baby arugula, radish and tomato salad. A great piece of meat tender and juicy. The Baramundi was a generous size filet topped with crab and cucumber, lemon aioli, served on a bed of spinach along with spaghetti squash and a drizzle of butter. A mild fish that melts in your mouth. Just delicious. Unfortunately we did not have room to try the desert menu. Palm Springs and the surrounding area has a abundance great restaurants with makes it a challenge to choose. Copley’s should be on everyone’s list

Table of five, impeccable attention, delicious dishes, especially the Hawaiian Ahi Tacos, the Seared Ahi and the ravioli. Great ambiance, decent noise level, a menu to satisfy most and well-timed, well-plated presentations. Courteous host. One of the best in Palm Sprigs.

What a great find! Right when we walked into the courtyard, I knew I wanted to sit outside in the patio area. It was such a romantic setup, perfect for making a great impression on date night. Eating under the stars on a beautiful night was the perfect way to end our stay in Palm Springs. They even have a fire pit for you to sit around and chat. The service was decent — I expected better since it was a Monday night and it wasn’t that busy. We had to flag down a few people to light the heating lamp and ask to refill our water. Overall, it was a good experience and everyone was really nice. The food was delicious! We shared the ahi tacos — very flavorful and beautiful presentation. I ordered the grilled beef tenderloin and my boyfriend ordered the seared scallops with thai spiced meatballs. The tenderloin was cooked perfectly medium rare with a warm pink center and the risotto was oh so creamy and wonderfully complemented the dish. The scallops were also cooked very well and didn’t have a strong fishy smell or taste. We were also very pleased with the portions we were given for an upscale restaurant. Worth checking out!

You enter Copley’s through a door that reveals a little bit of private courtyard heaven. Like visiting a spa, pace yourself, go slow, take in the moments, start at the bar for a flirty libation to ease yourself into the dining experience. Sensory overload; patio dining out under the desert stars, great food, superb service. Charming place for social occasions or for a little romance. It’s definitely hidden and less talked about, unless; like the rest of us trusty UnilocalERS, someone speaks up to SHOUT«I LOVETHISPLACE».

Wonderful place! The food was amazing… I don’t think I’ve had three courses I was completely in love with in my life… Everything was so yummy. Their sauces are especially great! I had the pear salad and salmon and chocolate soufflé… Wine too etc. We sat outside and it was very romantic. Service was amazing. Highly recommend.

A fun enough experience just by being Cary Grant’s old guesthouse. But the dining here is good too. We both started with the Ceasar’s Salad, I then went for the prosciutto wrapped duck breast which was tender and delicious. My friend had the Scottish salmon and liked it as well. Our waiter, and other staff who kept coming to our table, were friendly and professional. After the meal we split the toffee and date English sticky pudding and was out of this world. We enjoyed the place so much we took what was left of our bottle of wine and finished it outside on the chairs by the pit fire. A great experience, will definitely come back.

I found Copley’s on Palm Canyon through Unilocal, and it is a lovely gem of a restaurant housed in the former hacienda estate of actor Cary Grant. My family, wife, and I expected to wait quite a bit to be seated, but we arrived a little after 8PM and were seated immediately. As we walked past the water fountain and through the courtyard, I noticed an unoccupied covered patio. Upon entering the hacienda, we were greeted jovially by the restaurant manager of whom we requested to be seated outdoors. Within 10 minutes, our table was set up with an overhead heat lamp and we were seated. It was a great idea for us to sit outside because for most of our dinner since we were one of the only tables set up in our section. I had the Roasted Colorado Lamb Rack and my wife ordered the Prosciutto Wrapped Duck Breast. My entrée came with Basil Crushed Potatoes, Baby Carrots, Brussel Sprouts, and Spicy Bacon Wrapped Lamb Sausage. The lamb was deliciously moist and the sauce was yummy. It was wonderfully seasoned and the meat was perfectly cooked. We all loved our dishes so much and we complimented the waitress for her wonderful suggestions. The portions were just the right amount to share a few desserts. We decided to be a little adventurous and try the Toffee & Date English Sticky Pudding, Vanilla & Peach Crème Brulee, and the Basil Lavender Scented Pound Cake. The cake was extremely fragrant and flavorful. I was a bit skeptical about the ice cream flavor because I have tried different ice cream flavors before like garlic ice cream and I was not a fan. I’ll try anything once, and I have to say that the basil ice cream was a surprise. Everything was amazing! The cake and ice cream, together matched perfectly. Overall, the food was delicious and I would definitely come back the next time I’m in Palm Springs. The menu changes seasonally and during the holidays to take advantage of seasonal meats, produce, and and herbs grown on site. Copley’s on Palm Canyon is a definite must visit when in Palm Springs!

The fixed menu for New Years was delicious and very reasonably priced! We had 3 couples for a triple date and we couldn’t have chosen a better spot. The ambiance was excellent, staff amazingly friendly, and the food was the best I’ve found in Palm Springs. Copley’s is like an amazing LA restaurant, minus the snobby people, plus a family atmosphere. Our dinner ran long and we didn’t think we could make it to another place to celebrate midnight. The owner, manager, and staff were very kind and welcomed us to celebrate New Years in the restaurant with them. They didn’t make us feel like we overstayed our welcome. Thank you all very much for that! We all agree that it was the best New Year’s Eve we have had. Happy 2016 Copley’s! –John

I’ve been a fan of Copleys for years because of the variety and value of the menu. We first came for the Barramundi– the best fish in the world — lamb and duck. These aren’t typical American proteins but with our Australian-British heritage these are prime choices that always top chicken or beef. I know the sirloin is outstanding but these are signature dishes, along with the lobster, that deserve your attention because you are handsomely rewarded. The setting is beautiful indoors or out with a well laid out design for accommodates everything from a romantic meal to a large party dinner without compromising the enjoyment or atmosphere of others. Sitting in the courtyard on a warm spring evening with gentle breezes, the fire, smell of warm bread, fine glass of wine and hints of dishes being created in the kitchen takes me back to Sydney, Santorini or Sicily. For me the barramundi with mash and broccolini, topped with perfectly dressed salmon and crap salad is divine. Barramundi is a special fish, quite unlike anything you get in the northern hemisphere, beautiful flakey white fish that tops the more widely available Sea Bass. It pairs well with stronger tasting vegetables and isn’t dwarfed by sauces. Copleys presentation is as good as I’ve had in Sydney’s top restaurants. The poached lobster gives the barramundi a run for its money in terms of flavor and depth of tastes. Brilliant use of fruits with the crab and tiger prawns. Both the prosciutto duck and lamb are served to perfection. If you come during restaurant week I promise you will be back. By far my favorite restaurant in PS.

This place baffles me. I have eaten there five teams over the past two years and each time I walk away completely underwhelmed. Had dinner there last week. Here are my thoughts: Pros: Phenomenal Setting — that alone is worth 5 points Great Layout Ambitious menu Great wait staff Combine plate flavors very well Cons: They like things cold and raw at Copelys Soup de Jour is usually a gazpacho The appetizer fish tacos are rare tuna(not a fan of sushi, etc.) Meat always seems to be cooked less than expected, so if you like medium, order well done, and so on. This has been the case each time I have eaten there, Most every table on our side of the patio was using a light to read the menu and to see their dinner Overall, this is a must go to for visitors seeking that Palm Springs elegance and al fresco dining.

I found Copleys on a list of «Most romantic restaurants in Palm Springs» and after looking at the menu I made a reservation for my boyfriends birthday since we were going to Palm Springs for the weekend. Our waiter Victor was beyond amazing, he was very friendly and detailed oriented, and really made our dining experience feel special. The food was ten times better than I expected, and I expected it to be amazing. I had my eye on the Beef Tenderloin ever since I looked at the menu, and it might as well be one of the best dinners I’ve had in my life. The meat just melted in your mouth and was cooked to a perfect medium rare. We also had the poached lobster appetizer and it was incredible, so flavorful! I made the reservation through open table and wrote on the notes that were coming here for my boyfriends birthday. They clearly read my note and brought a delicious lava cake with a little candle. Our experience at Copleys was spectacular and we can’t wait to come back!

I WOULD take away one star for the price OR the fact that I only saw ONE female employee(Amongst about 15 males) — BUUUTTTTTT, no. ITISTHATGOOD! We arrived at Copleys on a Sunday night(Labor Day Weekend) expecting a good filet — little did we know what type of flavor combinations they had in store for us! Walking into the archway, you’re immediately transferred to a beautiful, romantic and modern courtyard lined with white linen clad tables topped with candles. A glass stone fireplace burning in the corner — WOW! STUNNING! We walked to the host table and they let us know that without a reservation, we could not be seated outside, but they had tables available inside which we were fine with.(The locust mating season was in full effect and almost deafening!) After being sat inside, we were greeted by various employees with varying roles. Our waiter took our drink order, another man came over to pour water(DELISH water at that!) while another came over with bread and butter(The most amazingly soft sourdough and softened butter!) … we felt very taken care of from the start! We had viewed Unilocal for some suggestions, so we ordered the Cesar Salad with the pineapple croutons and small pieces of bacon and the Poached Maine Lobster(With Tiger Shrimp & Blue Crab, Caramelized Pineapple, Cranberry & Raisin Relish, Ceviche Dressing). We WEREFLOORED. The pineapple croutons in of themselves were such a unique texture and flavor that meshed well with salad. The Lobster, which we thought would be small in size/not worth the money was quite the opposite. Huge chunks of meat were in a medium sized mason jar and there is no way the description does the flavor combination justice! WOW, the sweetness/fruit combinations were unexpected but spot on and found throughout the menu. I ordered the Beef Tenderloin(Filet Mignon) which had a tomato relish, served on top of corn & lobster risotto — AGAIN, wow. The madeira reduction was another delicious flavor combination… ALSO, it was a significant amount of meat! Larger than most filet’s that I have had. All in all, we dropped $ 160(2 drinks, 2 apps and 2 entrees) — not cheap… but SOOOOOOOWORTHIT!!! WEWILLBEBACK!

What a difference a second visit makes. We had a large group of 8 join us for a Saturday night dinner and since it was my choice, I really was hoping and expecting a much better meal. I had the Beef Tenderloin and one of my friends had the Scallops. Mine was OK, but I honestly think it was more of an issue with the Price not matching the food. My friend had the scallops and thought they were a bit on the raw side. I didn’t really check on the rest of the diners during the meal because we were more engaged in catching up on old times, however, afterwards everyone told me they thought the place was definitely over priced in comparison to what they got. Now no one is speaking to me because it was my suggestion.(Just kidding) But still, with all the choices in Palm Springs, I’m happy to cross this one off and go elsewhere, which is a shame, because the ambiance is one of the best in Palm Springs. That being said, I’ll go to Spencer’s in the future the next time I’m asked to recommend a place.

This place is always, perfection. So glad they are here. The flavors are amazing and the staff is always fun but not in your face. The four guests, one table over, were so rude and demanding, because of a spot of the table cloth. The server came over and was so nice, then the manager came over and was also so gracious. That’s class! We were there for restaurant week. I had the pan roasted Australian Barramundi on root vegetable & potato, broccolini, cabernet butter, topped with crab & smoked salmon salad Just outstanding. I could dine there everyday, but would be 400 pounds. wish they were open for lunch. I think, they do classes, not sure.

I’ve been eating out in Palm Springs for the past 25 years. The meal that I had for Restaurant Week here is one of the best that I have ever had in the desert! Here is what I ordered. HAWAIIANAHITACOS Tuna Tartar, Avocado, Green Onion Tossed in Ginger Soy Dressing Presented In A Sesame Miso Shell, Topped with Tobiko Caviar PRIME12OZNEWYORKSTEAK With Truffle Fries, Baby Arugula, Red Radish, Parmesan & Baby Tomato Salad, Topped with Caramelized Onions It was all very good. On the exceptional list is: The Steak — cooked to perfection and the caramelized onions were the perfect finishing touch. The Tacos –excellent flavor and texture combinations The apple pastry for desert. It was among 3 items in the Sampler. It was the best. I sat at the bar and watched James — the bartender — at work. He is exceptional as well. Skillfully juggling drink duties with the customers at the bar. A good value for $ 38

The food here is fantastic! 5-stars all around! However, service was too much! We started with a cab, which did not disappoint. The name escapes me at the moment. For dinner, I ordered the ahi tuna special. The tuna was seared to perfection, served on a bed of asparagus and mashed potatoes. My friend who is vegan order the tofu. It was good, but could have used a bit more flavor in my opinion. *note: the tofu is not on the menu, you have to ask for it. There were too many servers/bussers trying to take care of us at once. One of my pet peeves is being asked over and over again if I am done with my plate, when I am not! For dessert we ordered the crème brûlée. We substituted the mango ice cream for the salted caramel. Great call! It was delish!!! The ambiance here was romantic. Lots of soft night lights. It’s actually part of Cary Grant’s former estate. I would definitely come back and definitely recommend this place.
