What isn’t to like about TRIO? The food is great, employees are fantastic … and did I mention the tasty drinks? Always have a great experience at this place, and highly reccomend it to anyone in the area.

Food = meh. Service = meh. Atmosphere = ? I’m not sure why this place scores so high, because at best, it was nominally average. We ordered and our food was literally sitting in front of us 9 minutes later. As if it were fast food. And it almost looked like it: no attempt at plating, just fish sitting on some couscous. The server treated us like we were the 6th table he served in our places that night… how are you? what would you like? would you like your check? We sat in the bar area, where there was a thump-thump-thump of disco-esque music. Not exactly casual dinner music. Entrees were in the upper $ 28 range. No bread. No real side except the aforementioned couscous. Lots of better options in Palm Springs. Seek them out.

We just celebrated one birthday and arrival of two lifelong friends, who came a long distance to celebrate with us. Our first thought was Trio’s as the food has always been wonderful. We had the Sole on their Prixe Fix menu and it was outstanding. The waiter couldn’t have been more pleasant, we were seated on time and the table even had little«Happy Birthday» confetti sprinkled on the tablecloth. We had a wonderful time with good friends, great food, and a welcoming hip and trendy environment. Carl and Mary W

Place was packed when my gf and I came to check this place out Friday night after visiting the Palm Springs Aerial Tram. Only the bar and tables outside were available so we decided to take a table outside. We did not reserve and just came here on a whim. We were seated in 5 minutes but since they were busy our waiter did not take our orders until 10 min later. She was super nice though. I ordered the Lamb Shank and my gf got the Harris Ranch Natural USDA Skirt steak. Also got the Hand cut potato chips as a starter and Mac and cheese as a side for my gf. If I’m ever in the area again, will definitely stop by and try more of their other entrees.

We came to Trio last weekend during a sort of bachelorette weekend for me and loved this place! First, our server, Sarah was awesome. She was obviously taking care of a big section with more than one large party and she rocked it. Drinks, orders, everything on point, we didn’t wait for anything and she had a smile on her face the whole time. No easy job, Trio is lucky to have her. I swear I don’t know her, my first time there, she just killed it. We came early and had cocktails at the bar before our table was ready. The drinks were tasty and the people behind the bar were on their game. The calamari was tasty, but I think could have been a bit more crisp. Everyone at our table enjoyed their meal. I had the special, pasta with scallops, shrimp, and a butter sauce. The scallops melted in my mouth, perfectly cooked. I tasted the lamb shank, deliciously tender, mash potatoes with I think goat cheese, smooth, creamy, and full of flavor. I had a bite of steak, the meat was juicy and lean. We finished with bread pudding, which I normally don’t like, and was pleasantly surprised, topped with a caramel sauce, warm, delightful. There was not one moment during our visit when the staff wasn’t running and handling business. I can see why this is a local favorite. I plan on returning next time in Palm Springs. Cheers to great experience and making my night great.

Trio, o mio dio, it has it’s blessings. The Vibe: Large modernistic boxes creating a bunny warren of dining rooms. The long bar is comfortable with niches and high top bar tables sprinkled around the bar area. The patrons are a mix of locals and touristas. Lots of plunging necklines, thigh high leather, sequined kinky boots, day-glo nails, frosted hair, and wait till you see the ladies. It’s the cast from Shameless, but all friendly, pleasant and there for the same reason, decent dining in a nice atmosphere. A rock loop thumpin’, buncha bods bumpin’ and sumpin’ for everyone on the large menu. The Staff: Engaging, bright, efficient, knowledgeable about the kitchen and bar. Brother Justin was a refreshing and energetic. The Bar Program: Definitely worth your time cooling your jets waiting for the table you reserved but wasn’t ready. The Wil Stiles had Knob Creek Whiskey, Agave Nector, Orange and Lemon Juice all in a martini glass. Is it gauche to lick the rim and the bottom?(Don’t go there.) This was a lovely concoction. The Mary Pickford. Okay, not excactly a manly sounding drink, is it? Salvary Rum, Luxardo Cherry Liqueur, Honey Simple Syrup, Pineapple Juice, and Grenadine. It’s a Shirley Temple with addiction issues. This is definitely a card carrying bad boy. The Food: A few hits and, alas, a few misses. The Country Pâté was direct from Julia Child and done right with Maille Dijon Mustard, Cornichon, and Toast points. Two large pâté wedges stacked up waiting to pair up with your cocktail. The Fried Artichokes with Aioli sounded like an ideal bar nibble. But they were baby chokes from a can or at best frozen and then fried. The batter was as limp as a Bob Dole ED ad by the time our enthusiastic server brought the order. 6 were served, and 3 returned with the bus boy. The Calamari Fritti, however, was a home run. Not fishy chewing gum, but a whole school of squids piled high. They were crunchy, non-greasy and crispy to the last one that got dragged through the Asian soy based dipping sauce that left a slow crawling spicy heat in its wake. The Arugula and Crab Salad was just that, no less, no more. But Mum says, «Eat your vegetables, dear,» and as I ordered the 5 cheese Mac ‘n Cheese I was compelled to have a vegetable too. So, vegetables… check. The Mac ‘n Cheese with Gouda, Cheddar, Blue, Romano, Goat Cheese, Bacon, diced Tomato, Scallions and Bread Crumbs embraced all my favorite food groups. It read like ultimate comfort food and did not disappoint. Edna Lewis put down her knitting in heaven, smiled and approved. The juicy Lamb Shank, much ballyhooed by other Unilocalers, deserved all the ballyhooing. It was great. Braised in Burgundy, Rosemary, and Garlic this was spot on bistro fare and hit all the right key strokes. Enough for two Marseilles stevedores, the leftovers made a grand sandwich the next day. The signature Blue Cheese Mashed Potatoes was a gluey mass and better suited for recreating the photo of the Marines raising the flag on Iwo Jima. The Haricot Verts were just right. Crisp and fresh, they was, and yet so easy to over cook if you’re not paying attention. Not here though, as these were truly perfect. Dessert anyone? You bet. The warm Blueberry Cobbler topped with Oatmeal Sugar Crumble and served with house made Vanilla Ice Cream was just what my Southern Ancestors would have wanted for me. Trio? G-O whenever you are in P.S.

We went here based on reviews and it met all our expectations. We had Kelly as our server and she rocked!!! Probably some of the best service we have had in a long time anywhere. We sat at the bar and enjoyed the happy hour drinks and appetizers then we ordered the scallops and the lamb. Both were spectacular. The lamb came with goat cheese mashed potatoes and they were so rich and creamy!!! The scallops came with a melon habanero sauce that the was a crazy good compliment to the scallops. There was so much more that we want to try so it looks like one more trip before we leave town. The bartender was also exceptional. We enjoyed both our bourbon drinks so much we ordered a second round… At happy hour prices. We would recommend this place for sure.

Was out in Palm Springs for a field hockey tournament with my daughter and we let the girls do their own thing while the parents went out on their own. One of the parents recommended Trio, so we loaded up the shuttle and headed over. Thankfully, there wasn’t a wait amd we were seated immediately. Waiter was really nice and helpful so we got the specials quickly. We ordered a couple appetizers and while I wasn’t sure what I wanted tonight, after looking at the menu I was damn sure I was gonna like whatever I ordered. Asked the waiter about the scallops and the Ahi Tuna meals and he said he’d surprise me. When my Ahi tuna, brown rice and asparagus arrived I couldn’t wait to dig in. Normally, at a place like this, a dinner like this will leave me a bit hungry… not THIS meal! Between the appetizers and the portion of tuna I left pretty full. The asparagus was very nicely cooked and seasoned, and while I’m not a huge fan of brown rice I didn’t leave a grain on my plate. As good as my meal was, I would probably try something different if I came back again simply because as I looked around our table(we were a group of 8) I wanted to try every other dish. I would definitely come back here. A big shout out to our waiter, who was excellent. What was great was that we asked him about other local places since we weren’t going to come back twice in one trip and he gave us some great choices instead of the standard ‘well, I like everything on our menu HERE”. Great job!

***Lamb Shank, Great Service and Dinner Specials!*** 3.5 Stars! I reserved a table for Christmas Dinner. I loved the décor in this upbeat eatery and our host was the most! He was on his«A Game» and provided excellent service. ~The Lamb Shake was 5 Stars BUT. One of the better lamb shanks I have had, this wine marinated piece of art was just about perfect. The mashed potatoes and green beans were not as good. The mashed potatoes were not complimentary and super salty. The green beans were terrible. They were hard and rubbery and the chewing never stopped. Uggh… so much potential with this dish. Maybe it was an off day but this was my Christmas Dinner! Pot Roast-3.5 Stars. AOK. A bit heavy on the salt and not a whole lot to this dish. They have great deals for 19.99 on daily dinners! Easy Parking in the back! I would try this place again and would ask for different sides with the lamb shank. I am almost a fan!

My Wife and I went for the first time today and it was an overall good experience. Very modern/fancy looking restaurant without the crazy prices. We went during their 3 course happy hour for $ 19, and it was a good deal! Bruschetta and artichokes for our spots, and the bruschetta was very fresh tasting with a balsamic sauce. You could tell the tomatoes were cut in house, not bought precut. I would recommend this get the skirt steak with the Chimichurri! The steak was just delicious. Dominick out server was #1 in customer service and I could tell he was highly knowledged on all parts of menu from wines, beers and food. Good guy that took care of us! Recommend for sure!

I can see why this place is loved by the reviewers… it’s located dt… nicely priced. great service. The place books out early in advance but we had no problem finding a table in the covered outside seating. Heated well. Tried a few things here: 1. Australian Sole — I don’t know if I would say this dish is so great… it’s good and cooked nicely. Fish is tender. Best thing here. 2. Creamed spinach — Ehhh… not too impressed with it. More spinachy and less creamy which is good. Had some breadcrumbs on top for a bit of crisp. Not that great in my opinion. 3. Pork tenderloin — Ehhhh… also not my favorite. Served with green beans and mashed potatoes. House wine is decent at $ 5 per glass. Parking needs to be more available in the back. it was full and street parking is a pain. I would come back here for the three course menu deal for $ 20 before 6 pm or the happy hour which looks like it would be a steal.

Came here for Thanksgiving dinner. My family had an amazing dinner. I was surprised to find the place so packed. They offered a Thanksgiving dinner, but we opted to try out something else on the menu. Everything we got was delicious, but my favorites were the pork tenderloin, ribs, and the linguine with shitake mushrooms. I would definitely go back to the restaurant when I’m back in Palm Springs to try more from their regular menu. Thank you for allowing my family to have a great Thanksgiving dinner!

Exterior: at a street filled with food and shops. Has a big orange sign. Clean and neat. Interior: clean, big, and modern. Many cute paintings too. Staff: friendly and attentive. Helped refill water and server always came to check up on us. Food: went here for 2 days so day 1. First time here and the food was good. My family were first timers here and was only visiting palm springs. So we went here around 5pm and saw that they had a 3 course for $ 19 menu. The bread was good and food was good too. The seafood cocktail and calamari is super good and is worth getting. Ahi tuna was delicious especially the sauce. Pot roast was good too and big. The mushroom noodle was pretty good but heavy and a bit too much oil. Dessert was bread pudding which was too sweet and brownies which was too hard so don’t get those. Overall, it was a good meal. Day 2: Came here at 7pm and it turns out, the 3 course for $ 19 ends at 6pm. There was no signs about it so it was shocking. This time, we ordered the peach salad, ahi tuna, and NY steak. The steak was medium yet it came out a bit near well down. It was also a bit rough too. So I would recommend medium rare if anyone orders it. Peach salad was really good and worth getting. Overall, the second time wasn’t as good as first time. Final thoughts: really good place to try. Clean and decorated. Remember, come before 6pm to get the 3 course for $ 19 offer.

During my business trip to the less than inspiring city of Palm Springs I found myself in need of a good dinner. I found this place on Unilocal and the over 1200 reviews had me guessing it was good. The food was good, but it wasn’t great. I was a bit underwhelmed for the price. The portions were massive, enough for 2 people to share an entrée. One thing I did really like was the goat cheese mash potatoes that came with my lamb shank. Why haven’t I had goat cheese mash potatoes before? I should also mention, that I was dining solo. I find in some cities(basically any city that isn’t London or New York) eating alone is awkward. People ask if you are ok or ask if you are waiting for someone(or god forbid think you’ve been stood up!). Surprisingly I didn’t find it to be weird eating alone here. Granted I do eat alone quite alot since I travel frequently for work, so maybe I’m just used to it. But it did strike me as very pleasant to dine solo here and people watch. The staff were very friendly and the service was fantastic. The cocktails looked good although I didn’t try any as I was driving.

7 strikes you’re out. Where do I begin… 1. The dirty water cup that had lipstick on it 2. They bring us the wrong appetizer 3. The PUBE in my pasta 4. The 25 minutes it took to refill my water after asking three different times 5. Then when they refilled my water they drop some water and ice on the floor and the busboy just kicked the ice under the table… being that I always wear heels, I could’ve slipped on the water 6. The dirty spoon they gave us for dessert 7. Did i mention the PUBE in my pasta 8. Service sucked balls(& the restaurant was more than half empty) No apology from the owner(& he was there) No discount, heck I would’ve been fine w 5% off the bill BUT nothing… I f’en tasted someone’s fucken sweaty ass PUBE. FU** you TRIO. never again!

I love this place and can’t wait to come back to enjoy the food here at Trio. I came in after I had a drink at Tiki up the street so I was pretty hungry. I came in toward the end of happy so I decided on the 19 dollar deal for a 3 course meal. I sat at the bar where it was full service so that was cool and Oscar was an excellent bar tender who took great care of me. I decided on the calamari, the Angus burger and the bread pudding plus some peach drink that Oscar recommended which was very good. I don’t eat calamari much but I loved the Thai dipping sauce it was wonderful. The Angus bleu cheese burger was so tasty and they didn’t skimp on the cheese. The bread pudding wasn’t all that great but whatever. I will definitely eat here again at Trio because I had a great experience from the food to the great bar tender.

Ah. Palm Springs and their design sense. It’s an obvious trend that charcoal grey and burnt orange is the go to color scheme for the hippest places in the downtown area. I don’t really understand it, but whatever! Service is stellar and everyone is so nice. We stopped in here to grab some lunch. If you sit in the bar area, you get to take advantage of their happy hour specials. I’m not even sure how they are able to provide them, because it’s insanely cheap. $ 3.00 glasses of wine, of every variation you could think of. $ 3.00 well drinks. And $ 3.00 off their premium cocktails. I’m not sure you can beat that. They also have«bar bites» that are discounted! Their caesar salad is top notch, and don’t forget the anchovies! It’s worth it to get them. My husband had the meatloaf sliders and really enjoyed them. Skip the bruschetta, it was plain weird– It’s like they used balsamic vinegar in place of olive oil. We didn’t finish it. Worth check out. Even if just to get some drinks!

As far as I’m concerned, Trio is doing everything right. It’s like the management of this place read my mind and created a beautiful restaurant and cocktail lounge custom-made for me. First, the vibe: It’s stylish and contemporary, but also comfortable and casual. In other words, it’s quintessentially Palm Springs. I love the splashes of orange all over the place, and I love the friendly characters at the bar who are more than eager to share their colorful life stories. Second, the cocktails: They’re outstanding and inexpensive. During happy hour at the bar, I sipped the PSP cocktail, with gin, pear liquor, mint, and sprite. It was the perfect refresher on a hot summer day in the desert. Third, the $ 19 prix fixe dinner. Yes, Trio offers a three-course feast for less than a Jackson note, and the food is outstanding to boot. For the entrée, I had the fish ceviche, which was fresh and flavorful. The real superstar of the dinner was the Australian sole with oven-roasted parsley and Israeli couscous, which was cooked perfectly and filling too. Dessert was a bowl of chocolate bread pudding — the perfect sweet treat to round out the meal. Finally, the service. The bartenders here are some of the friendliest(and most gorgeous) folks in town. Nobody seemed to mind that I was a tourist from San Diego — they made me feel like family. Yep, Trio is doing everything right, and I can’t wait to go back.
