L’Horizon Resort & Spa

Wow! This was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment we showed up, champagne on check and really friendly front desk staff. When they realized it was our wedding anniversary they went well over above and beyond to make sure we were pampered. Since our room wasn’t ready we were shown to the bar. The bar is on the small side but for such a small property it does just fine. Great selection of cocktails. When our room was ready they had already unloaded our car for us! As the other reviews mentioned they have a custom plaque on the door of the rooms. We stayed in a room with a fireplace. All the décor was so well appointed. We used the car service to get a ride to downtown– can’t beat a chauffeured bmw. During our stay, there was constantly staff looking after us and we truly felt welcome! We highly recommend this hotel and look forward to coming back very soon!

We just spent a Wonderful week at L’Horizon Resort & Spa! A beautiful Mid Century Modern set of cabana type rooms, so conveniently located, just minutes from any where in Palm Springs. But once you are behind the hedged in enclosure, becomes incredibly private & secluded! Immaculately kept up, spotlessly clean, & beautiful & elegant in it’s design. But what really stands out is the SERVICE!!! I have never encountered such a friendly staff, where every single employee goes far above & beyond the call of duty! & sincere in their desire to do anything in their power to make sure your entire stay is enjoyable in every way. & yet respectful of any desire of privacy! Bonus points for allowing us to bring our dogs (they even got gift bags of dog toys, dog bowls & treats!), & bonus for having car service to downtown! 2 minor downsides: the lighting in the room. It’s romantically dim, but I could have used better light in the bathroom mirror. & the nest heating control. It wasn’t the best. But all in all, really wonderful.

This place is a joke. Went for lunch on New Year’s Day. Paid bill for subpar food and service.
Then they charged my card 2 times $ 200+. Called them 5 times and continued to get a bunch of blaming someone else.
Then Nathan (I guess he’s the manager) said he’s refund me. It’s now been 3 weeks.
Now it’s fraud and my bank is taking charge.
I know … I know … This is what I should’ve done from the start.
If you eat or stay here. Good luck not getting overcharged.

Just on my way out (I checked out a day early) so my horrible experience is still fresh on my mind. To be fair, this place looks like a four star hotel — do not be fooled as that is where the similarity ends. I start by checking into my room and find it on the cooler side. So I go for the beautiful «high-​tech» NEST thermostat to turn it down. It does not come on. After calling the front desk, they send out a maintenance person with a new one. He tells me that there is no wiring to the unit. So it is literally just there for show I ask? He shrugs letting me know that he is not going to even try to repair it. I spent the whole night trying to manually get the heater (which sounded like a FREIGHT TRAIN!!!) to work. By morning, I was sick as a dog. I tried to shrug it off by going over to a gorgeous nearby hammock and read. Unfortunately that was impossible because right in the other side of the lovely hedges the are assembling something with power tools. After thirty minutes of this I walked over to the guy on the drill and to his credit he stopped drilling. But peace and quiet was not to be had as I had to listen to one of the the manager’s phone conversation on the OTHER side of me – that is until I gave up and asked him to move which he did after profusely apologizing. I figured: «Hey it’s got to be quiet by the pool» so I walked over laid down and shut my eyes. Two seconds later a lawn mower and a weed wacker starts right next to me and lifts away whatever patience is left in me. I pack up and leave a day early, not even knowing if The travel site I booked the two-​night stay is going to be credited or not. I really don’t care however, because if I have to stay one more second in this fake four star hotel I am going to lose it. It just shows you, that you can hire the best designer and overhaul a crummy old Palm Springs hotel but it still is just a crummy old Palm Springs hotel. Oh one last thing; the wireless Internet that they charge you $ 35.00 automatically as part of the reset fee doesn’t actually work. Don’t be fooled by the carefully staged veneer of this unpleasant hotel experience — you will be disappointed.
Addendum: I am updating the review with an extra star as the manager (Nathan) worked really hard after the fact to let me know he was sorry I was not happy. That kind of effort does not go unnoticed. Perhaps I will give them another shot one day.

One of the very hotels I have every stayed. Beautiful property, immaculate grounds, the staff exceed the highest level of service and professionalism. I will never stay anywhere else other than L’Horizon. Very very impressed.

My boyfriend recently surprised me with a wonderful trip to Palm Springs. I had heard from someone I work with that the L’Horizon was just remodeled and was a beautiful place to stay. I frequent Palm Springs several times a year, and am always excited to try new places to rest my head at night. I have to say, from the moment we arrived and were greeted with champagne, I fell in love. Like HARD LOVE. Every detail from the engraved nameplate (that you take with you when you check out as a souvenir!) to the 7 Series BMW car service that will drive you into the downtown area and also pick you up was beyond amazing. The rooms themselves are gorgeous, spacious and decorated so beautifully. I will definitely be recommending L’Horizon to everyone I know!

This hotel is amazing ! The food at SoPa is excellent with customer service to match. It’s secluded and private with great amenities .They have complimentary car service into downtown which was nice allowed us to have few drinks. The rooms are tastefully decorated with an understated luxurious feel, love the brass detailing!
Overall worth every penny and the customer service is very good and consistent .
I’d recommend this place and will definitely be back in summer

We’ve enjoyed weekend escapes for almost 20 years, and adjusted to several new owners/​managers and their price jumps. And we tried hard to adjust to this new L’Horizon. But it’s lost that laid back vibe, and I am astounded at the new rates — a quick survey of pricing for this time period put L’Horizon at the very top… Don’t get me wrong — it’s an exceptional setting and the place has great bones — it’s a gem of mid-​century, low density ‘motel’ design. But the new owner/​managers have shoehorned an expensive restaurant onto the site (beware the noise from the kitchen cleanup around 9:30 is your room is on that side of the property). Figure at least $ 50-​$ 60 for breakfast for two — gone are the days complimentary warm croissants/​pastries along with coffee/​tea were delivered to your patio each morning. To be fair, there’s a beautiful new infinity pool, and they left the nice bar alone — but some of the modifications/​re-​configurations feel like clutter when compared to the original design.

Incredible! The hotel itself is gorgeous, perfectly appointed rooms, comfortable, sexy décor — a true gem in the desert. The infinity pool is beautiful and the bar is perfectly place to not steal the show from the grass and swim area but to offer a perfect little spot for a cocktail
We normally stay at the Parker, which is great, but this is our new go to as we love the secluded and private feel. 5++++++ starts!

Incredible. The most amazing staff we’ve seen at a hotel. It was 106 degrees but everyone was fantastically helpful and wonderful!

This review would not be 5 stars had it not been for Taylor our server during breakfast and our hostess for dinner. She is by far the resemblance of the brand this resort is going for. Elegant, caring, sophisticated, attentive, knowledgable and very pleasant.
Hotel overall: Elegant, sophisticated, earthly, consistent, yet simple design.
Rooms: Beautiful and have polished gold, wood, a mix of modern with vintage design. Very clean and organized.
Quiet, hidden and your rooms will feel secluded.
Staff: Great staff. Very accommodating and present.
Food: Simple food. Feels healthy. Mostly organic. The highlight for us was the breakfast.

All I can say is amazing! If you want relaxation at its finest LHorizon is the ultimate package. This boutique hotel is class without the pretentiousness that often comes associated with it. You feel as if each and every staff member was hand picked and placed to individually cater to your needs. The room was spectacular and being that we were staying for a special occasion, they went over and beyond to add special touches throughout the duration of our stay. From the poolside lounging, complimentary foot message, the cold towelettes, tasty room cookies and wonderful service all around, we will be back! Thank you especially to David and his staff for making our stay most welcome. You all were a pleasure to be around.

Nothing average about this place… more than I expected. Individual style bungalows with amazing design and detail down to the hardware in the bathroom and the wooden toothbrushes they provide. The pool design is beautiful and the service at the hotel was exquisite and responsive. My boyfriend left a hat in the car and we asked to have the car brought around. Instead they went to the car got the hat out of the car and brought it to us at the pool. Overall excellent service and beautiful hotel. Can’t wait to go back again.

If you go to Palm Springs and want to splurge on a nice hotel, then L’Horizon Resort & Spa is the place for you. The décor is awesome and the attention to detail is amazing! All the staff greet you with smiles and are very attentive and proactive.

I’d give this 5 stars but our room experienced no hot water for half a day (night time & morning). I don’t know what the problem was but we called the staff to let them know and a few hours later there was hot water.
Food is good and take advantage of the lovely bar area and the infiniti pool.

This hotel is incredible, the best experience I’ve ever had for a weekend getaway. The property itself is styled amazingly and the garden and pool area is flawless. The attention to detail in the rooms and sounding areas makes every angle picture perfect.
The ambiance is perfect if you’re looking to unwind and relax, the bar by the pool is great and the bartenders were awesome. The entire staff was very professional and polite and made you feel right at home. The food from taste to presentation was 5 star quality, the bed was so comfy the mini bar had high end alcohol everything about this hotel screams luxury.

I’ve stayed at many top notch hotels in Palm Springs, The Vicroy, The Parker, Riviera, but L’Horizon is on another level. The customer service is unparalleled. The guest rooms are like no other, especially the indoor outdoor shower. The food and drinks are delicious. Highly recommend… oh and this is an adult only hotel so you truly get to relax.

Used to stay at this place years ago, then it changed to The Horizon — now it’s remodeled and the name went back to L’Horizon when we first stayed here. But looking at the property, which is very nice, the rooms haven’t changed much, just décor. What is upsetting is the pricing on this hotel. I checked online and all the basic rooms were just under $ 600 for 350sqft!
There is no major reason for that price at all, for that or actually less I could stay at The Parker or rent a Mid Century house!
I know that Steve Herrman did a wonderful job at restoring this property, but the prices are way too high (I can get an ocean view nearly 900sqft room at The Pelican Resort in Newport Beach! for less!). This property doesn’t warrant this pricing. I think it will take a few months before they see a decline in reservations. But for now I just cannot see paying this much for a sleepy town and a property that doesn’t really have much going for it. Makes me sad :-(

Highly suggest this brand new (recently renovated by Steve Hermann) opening in Palm Springs. It’s a great location only 1 mile away from downtown and the staff are incredibly welcoming.
This is a great combination of a boutique resort (They have less than 20 bungalows) and a 5 star property. While when we visited the spa and restaurant were not yet opened, the staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we need including complementary breakfast, delivery in of food from the area, free car service from 9am-​10pm in a beautiful BMW and ordering an in-​room massage.
The pool is beautiful with more than enough chairs and cabana space for as many guests as they may have at the time, and a stunning poolside bar with wonderfully crafted cocktails.
Valet is also free, wifi is free, and there is an Apple TV in every room (Rooms are very modern and beautiful) so you can log in to your own netflix, amazon, hbo go and avoid paying for movies like you would in other hotels.
The staff spared no attention to detail, offering champagne at check-​in, and my personal favorite — a customized brass plaque with your name that is attached to your bungalow when you check in (see user photos for an example).
I will be back again soon, and look forward to trying the spa and restaurant as well (they gave us a preview of the menu which looks amazing and is crafted by their Michelin starred chef).

Best experience I’ve had in Palm Springs! Newly renovated. Upon arrival, they give you complimentary cold water (Fiji Water!) and are super friendly. They took us to our room which was not ready. My boyfriend and I didn’t mind at all, but they took us to another room and gave us a free lunch because of the inconvenience.
The rooms are so modern and cool — cowskin rug, outdoor (and indoor) shower, Le Labo shampoos & conditioners, huge soft bed & automatic switches to open & close the curtains. You won’t get a bigger room than this in any other Palm Springs hotel.
The outdoor area is so pretty — outdoor bar (with food & drinks), infinity pool, lounge chairs, cabanas & day beds.
Every single employee at the hotel was so kind & friendly. Almost too nice! They were so sweet and accommodating. Have not had an experience like that ever. :) The guy at the front also noticed there were hot water bottles in our car so he took them away & gave us fresh, new cold ones.
They also have complimentary valet & a complimentary car service from 7AM-​10PM so you don’t have to drive around if you don’t want to!
Great location — just 1 mile from Downtown Palm Springs.
Definitely staying here again soon! I recommend it to every body.

This is a newly renovated Steve Hermann Hotel. L’Horizon. We were honored to be one of the first guest hence opening late June 2015. This is beyond a 5 star property. Service is over the top and the rooms are AMAZING! We loved the private outdoor shower attached to our bathroom. The infinity pool is clean and refreshing and you have the choice of comfortable lounge chairs or sun beds to enjoy the gorgeous mountain view and impeccably groomed grounds. The pool bar offered some delicious libations. Thank you for a BEAUTIFUL getaway L’Horizon.we will be back!
