Cute place and better than most furniture stores that I visited within a few blocks. Prices are mid to high.

We bought a nice vintage pot here, and then(only after the fact) checked the quoted price against what we would have been charged for the same item on line, new. The price we were charged matched what we found on line from other vendors(selling it new, not vintage). We actually preferred the vintage pot, because its color looks better with age. So we feel like we got a very fair/reasonable deal, considering that some people would charge big premium for the fact that what we purchased was vintage. Also, if you’re into mid-Century modern, this store has a fantastic selection. Of course, if you don’t care about the status of an object as vintage, then the fact that the new and used price are the same might not be a plus for you. We were very happy with our purchase and with the price.

After checking out all the mod shops up and down Palm Ave, this was our favorite. Prices seemed more reasonable and they had a very nice collection of furniture. The owner was warm and welcoming and took time to talk to us.

Horrible experience with owner of this business! Frankly I can’t believe that this man represents Knoll! He lost it when I asked him if he had any«vintage» pieces in his store and once I mentioned that I was an interior designer he started be-littling me and telling me that I obviously didn’t know the difference between reproductions of originals or vintage. He said that he would never show a Knoll«Barcelona» chair in his showroom because they were so uncomfortable. We have two and love them! He should get out of this business because he is a very angry man who should not be dealing with the public. He also informed us that he «owned the building» we were standing in! WTF? Who cares. ?? I have read several self serving over the top nice reviews of his store and I can’t help but think that he wrote them himself!(Marisa?) Obviously he hates the design trade!

Retrospect is awesome just like Laine the owner! His original home furnishings will give you chills if you are into vintage modern. Most pieces are redone to perfection. He had the most beautiful couch I have ever seen several months ago… but at $ 5,000…aahheemm…it was a little out of my price range. Even though that couch is no longer there… I still look over on the wall it once graced & get teary eyed.

A charming design store that sells«Vintage & Modern Furnishings», conveniently located on N. Palm Canyon Dr. In fact, one of the best stores among those that we visited last weekend. There are some amazing examples of modern furniture(a wide range of midcentury furnishings, like Bertoia Diamond chairs and a Jens Risom Amoeba coffee table) as well as lighting fixtures– Retrospect has partnered with YLighting to bring to you a very complete experience. The owner, Laine Scott, was very helpful to us. In addition to the furniture, Laine has provided a venue for local artists to sell their art, some of which we found truly world class. Please support the small local businesses in Palm Springs: stop by and get inspiration from the collection at Retrospect. The prices are much(MUCH) better than those at Design Within Reach, while the quality is the same. The service that you will find here is also very friendly and accommodating. Let us not allow these small merchants, who have taken on the difficult task of promoting a high sophisticated taste, to gradually disappear in oblivion– let us keep these businesses alive!
