The service was terrible but the food was ok. That’s why they’re getting 3 stars. Seems like they’re trying! It’s not the best place in the area for breakfast(go to Sherman’s for that!) but was ok. My food was cooked to order. I had an omelet that I asked to be well done and it was. Good potatoes too. Slowest service around but I did enjoy my breakfast!

Not sure what the terrible reviews are about. The service, while not the fastest, was good and the waiter was super sweet. We had veggie sandwiches and a decent caeser salad, and shared a smoothie that was big enough for two. The squaw bread(dark, chewy and vegan) was really good. The inside was a bit kitschy and stuffy, but outside the misters were going crazy and the seats were soaked. This place is a really good, affordable, healthy option for PS.

SLOWASS service. Waste of time and money. «Fresh squeezed oj» comes from a powder? 45 min for salad, bread, and eggs? Boo. Wish I would’ve gone to a drive through instead. And you have the nerve to ask me if it was worth the wait? No freakin way. What nerve. I would give zero stars if I could. P. S. Just got back to the hotel after this terrible restaurant experience and now everyone has bubble guts and all that comes along with it, if you know what I mean. I didn’t realize that this would get any worse — thanks.

Very poor service — took an hour to be served when there were only 5 people in the restaurant — food cold and served plate by plate — avoid this place — so many other great places

God awful. We were drawn in by some basic cuteness. But once we were there it was fundamental failure on every level. Our burgers took an hour. That’s not special«Customer» time 60 minutes that is really 20 minutes. I had taken a picture when I came in — I checked the time stamp and it was really an hour. And then the food was bad. The one thing we could say is that it was consistent. Bad, but consistently bad from the moment we sat down. Worst coffee I have ever had. A long wait for bad food. If ever I should have stood up and left — this was the moment. If it were cheap, I’d forgiven much more, but a $ 10 burger shouldn’t taste… weird.

This place is a really cute little restaurant. Yes, the decorations are a bit cheesy, but you can’t help but look at all the monkeys, parrots and the little jungle theme they try to accomplish. It was between here or the restaurant next door. I wasn’t feeling Mexican, and I wanted eggs, so Spunky Monkey served breakfast all day and they got my vote! I went in and it’s a bit stuffy in there, and it didn’t look like the cleanest restaurant in the world. You grab you own menus and sit anywhere you like. I looked at their menu and it was cute how they incorporated«monkey» lingo in everything. I went for the ham and cheese scramble with taters and a side of toast. They also had a juice menu which I thought was fabulous! They chop up their own fruits and vegies and juice it to make you a yummy blend. My boyfriend got the jalepeno burger with fries. The food was good, it wasn’t anything spectacular or special. Just some good, simply, comfy food. The juice was delicious! Overall the service was really good. There was only one server and the chef, and they were friendly and made good conversation with us. The food wasn’t the best thing I’ve ever ate, but it was a good place to stop by. This was my first time in Palm Springs, and I had no expectations and just went spontaneously without plans or directions. We had a great experience and it was good place to stop by!

Absolutely horrible experience all the way around! We sat and waited for 20 – 25 min before we were greeted, The portions were all very very small and the food was luke warm to cold. Each person at the table got their food at different times(i’m talking way different times). When the food finally came a few of the meals were not nearly what was ordered, and when it was mentioned the server argued with me about it. We then proceeded to show her the menu and she stood corrected. I understand when these things happen when restaraunts are busy, but we were the only ones in th place(now I know why). I would not reccomend this place to anybody! I have never complained about a restaraunt before but felt compelled to warn people about this so called restaraunt! STEERCLEAROFTHISPLACE!

Plain weird is all I can say. Weird décor! Weird people. Weird menu. Weird Weird Weird and I’m weird! The owner/server/cook, whaterve was the weirdest of the bunch… we should have kept walking. didn’t order food, just drinks since it was so weird… I’d stay away from the spunk of the monkey.

Service sucked! Food was cold. Go to somewhere else in town. There were three tables with two people at each table, the one waitress/hostess did a poor job. I’m a fair and patient diner from the East Coast. I do expect one person to be able to handle three tables when there’s a cook and another person prepping the meals.

Stopped by here for lunch while on vacation in Palm Springs. It was on the main drag, and we randomly decided to give it a try. The décor is kind of all over the place and a little tacky. The tables were scratched glass, and smoothies were served in thin plastic cups though we were dining in. I had a burger with chips and a pickle. The presentation was a little weird, but the burger was okay, though it had a somewhat strange flavor. $ 11 was also way too expensive. My friend raved over his panini though. My friends told me the smoothies were okay, not very sweet but I guess they were healthy. It was empty when we ate there, but there were employees and locals just hanging out. Solicitors came in and tried to get us to buy chocolate. It was weird and awkward.

Met an old friend for lunch while on vacay in PS. We planned to meet at Blue Coyote but they were closed. So we ambled across the street to the Monkey. My friend lives in Morongo Valley so was familiar with the Monkey’s former location there. Well it wasn’t much to look at, but the food and service were great for a casual dining spot. The proprietor(so sorry I’ve forgotten her name) was doing the serving and the cooking that day. I had an excellent veggie sandwich and my hubs and my bud both had a pasta dish that was full of the most delectable roasted and then sauteed garlic cloves. YUUUUMMMMMM. Meanwhile our hostess/owner/chef/server was so friendly and my bud was able to catch up on various peeps he knew from the old place. If you are looking for a friendly place in downtown PS for a quick meal, do check this out. They are also pet friendly. We met a really spunky labradoodle who was there with his humans.

A cute little place with decent atmosphere, a fairly diverse menu including pizza, pasta, burgers, sandwiches, etc, and vegetarian meals.
