Such a cute place in Palm Springs! This place is on the second floor of another bar downstairs. Plenty of street parking even on a Friday night. Their décor is on point. We ordered the Pupu Platter($ 24) that comes with a little BBQ grill in the center. All the appetizer sampler was good. My favorite was the crab Rangoon. For the cocktail, I ordered the Pi Yi($ 16). The drink came in a full pineapple. It was so cute, refreshing, and delicious. Their cocktail list looked good and very creative. Cannot wait to come back to try their other drinks and the pineapple fried rice!

Great place for tiki cocktails but the food is amazing too. Popped in for the Tiki Taco Tuesday where you get 3 tacos and a Mai Tai cocktail for $ 12. The complimentary appetizer of crispy wonton skin chips was very moorish, while my chicken tacos were delicious and quite unique with their crispy tortillas made from rice flour. Cool vibe too, so come for the cocktails and stay for the food, like the pineapple fried rice that comes in a pineapple!

The bartender Josh was awesome! Greeted every guest while constantly slinging drinks and kept his fun but professional demeanor even when the grumpy server came over and gave him some major attitude. I wish I could give this place 5 stars but all the stink eye I received from her was a real bummer. Maybe she was having a bad day or maybe she should find a job she doesn’t hate. Enrique and Matt were cool too. I’ll go back but I’ll only sit at the bar.

Cool vibe and decent drinks. Love the throwback 70 and 80s music they play. I had the egg rolls for an appetizer that was just okay. For drinks, I highly recommend the Mai tai. I also tried the navy grog and three dots and a dash. Both were mediocre

Cute place, alcohol was good and customer service was outstanding. Prices aren’t too bad considering you’re in downtown. Definitely coming back! :)

We went to the Tonga room while visit Palm Springs because someone recommended this place from the little shops we went to. We fell in love with it as soon as we walked in. Everyone in this bar is super friendly and attentive. Our bartender Josh was pretty amazing and helpful. There was a group of girls that came after we did and the other gentleman working was super helpful. He picked up a chair for them and moved it for them so they could all fit They ordered drinks that used a whole pineapple, so he brought the fruit he did t need and gave it to the girls, he kid it up and dusted cinnamon over it. They didn’t do that for us but we witnessed the kindness and the absolutely most friendly and amazing service ever. We enjoyed ourselves so much and will definitely come back soon. The service was excellent and the drinks were perfect. Thank you Tonga hut for a memorable experience.

What a fun, relaxing and cool place right in the middle of Palm Springs… and conveniently located across the street from our hotel. We stopped in for some drinks on a Sunday afternoon and I loved my desert punch — so refreshing and so tasty! I couldn’t get enough of the fried wontons with sweet and spicy sauce. The food looked incredibly good as well… next time, for sure!

My mom and I went here for a late lunch for our first time to Palm Springs. The décor is fun Hawaiian theme. It wasn’t busy but the service was a little slow. There was one server for the whole place. The food was amazing. I got the fried rice with chicken in the pineapple. It was a good amount of food and was delicious!!! My mom got grilled chicken with brown rice and veggies. She loved it, again huge portion. We would come here again for sure.

Drinks are delicious! Makes me feel like I’m far away on an island instead of in the middle of the desert.

Fun little bar. Great seating overlooking the street. Perfect for people watching. Very tasty drinks and appetizers and we got lucky with an awesome live band one night on Cinco de Mayo! The bartenders were all very cool and friendly and even showed us the secret room :)

This was our first stop in Palm Springs because it was the first meet up for the Tiki convention in town. The place was busy and packed as to be expected. We couldn’t fit in the bar, so got a table. Our waiter couldn’t have been more friendly and gracious! I know he was slammed with customers, but he never let it show. We got two incredible cocktails and the super delicious pu pu platter. There was a long wait for food and drink, so the waiter gave us a discount. We didn’t mention the wait or ask, he offered, which I thought was very kind. We’ll be back next year, and this will be our first stop!

Gotta hand it to the amazingly friendly staff here at Tonga Hut PS. The place exudes Tiki in all it’s gloriousness. So many fine touches of tiki, no after thoughts. The owners gave us a tour of all the art and well crafted finishes that detail every corner. The Happy Hour Mai Tai is a nice way to start the liquor filled adventures to follow: Nutty Chi Chi is exquisite, the Blue Hawaiian goes down way to easy and is a MUSTTRY. The Pupu Platter and the glorious Flaming Coconut drink made in a real coconut — all are recommended. Board Games, Patio dining, dark lit ambiance, the secret room; just too many details to list; go experience Tonga Hut for yourself. So fun!

The Tonga Hut is a must-visit every time I’m in Palm Springs, for nostalgic reasons more than anything else. This is one of my favorite places on the planet to catch up and have a laugh, mostly because of the spacious, inviting, and totally island-chill atmosphere. One of my dearest friends had her post rehearsal dinner hang here, and the combination of strong drinks, board games, and a cozy room was just what our rowdy party needed. One thing to know is that you should definitely eat dinner before, because the food isn’t great, but they make a solid Mai tai. Basically if you stick to liquids at the Tonga Hut, you’ll be in great shape. It’s definitely not the best tiki bar in the world, but it’s lovely.

Very fun place to go with friends for dinner. The menu is pretty limited and they need more items. Unusual set-up — the restaurant is upstairs. The décor is really cool. I like restaurants like this. I would be more inclined to go back if they got some more menu items like perhaps a club-style sandwich with pineapple(I’m a huge pineapple fan, always have been!) The staff are really nice though. I think the dessert was the most interesting part of the meal! And those fried wonton strips they give you as free appetizers are really the shiz! Very clever idea! This place definitely has some potential and I hope they improve upon what is already very good.

This review is only for the drinks. My boyfriend and I were excited to come eat here but found out the kitchen was closed when we arrived so we stayed for drinks at the bar. We tried again a few days later but they are randomly closed on Tuesdays… I guess I’ll have to wait to try the food. The service was great and the drinks were well made. Pricey though. Feels like Hawaii when you step into the restaurant. We ordered a Blue Hawaiian and a Moscow Mule. I’d have to say that the Moscow Mule was made pretty well compared to other bars… and it came in a copper cup which makes it legit! :)

This review is just for DRINKS and SERVICE. My bf and I had a mini staycation in Palm Springs and whereas everything else looked DEAD, this place looked fun! There was a DJ and it was just the perfect environment to grab some drinks and hang out. My bf and I shared one of the punch bowls —Tonga Hut Treasure, which was very fruity and creamy, presented in a cute bowl. They also brought us some complimentary fried won ton strips w/sweet and sour sauce. We sipped on our drink and played board games there. It was very relaxing and nice with some tropical-y, happy music playing. Service was amazing, there was an older female who had so many different roles — she was the hostess that greeted us, she checked up on us several times, took some great photos for us… very sweet! And not just her, but we were being checked up on regularly and we never felt rushed even though we were just sharing the one punch bowl(full from dinner). Very cute place and we asked to see the secret room, which was cool. There were a bunch of drunk dudes in there and they let us watch the server make and light this fiery drink up! This was easily my favorite place we visited while in Palm Springs!
